Jaguar to showcase a specific F-Pace at this years London motor Show

  • Following its double win at the World Car of the Year Awards, a unique Jaguar F-PACE in World Car of the Year livery will be appearing at the London Motor Show
  • Jaguar’s first ever SUV was named as 2017 World Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year at the awards in early April
  • The unique F-PACE – designed, developed and built in the UK – will be proudly displayed at Jaguar’s home motor show alongside its two trophies
  • The London Motor Show takes place at Battersea Evolution from 4-7 May
Having been crowned a double World Car of the Year winner in New York just weeks ago, the Jaguar F-PACE is bringing its trophies home, with a starring appearance at the London Motor Show from 4-7 May.
Designed, developed and built in the UK, the Jaguar F-PACE was named World Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year by a panel of 75 influential motoring journalists from all over the world in April. The Jaguar is the first British car to have won the World Car of the Year title – let alone two titles – and will proudly be on display in unique World Car of the Year livery along with its trophies for the London Motor Show crowds.
These latest wins continue an incredible run of awards for the Jaguar F-PACE since its introduction in April 2016. As well as becoming the fastest-selling Jaguar ever, the F-PACE has collected more than 40 awards, including Women’s World Car of the Year, Auto Express Car of the Year and The Telegraph’s Best Premium SUV Award.
Jeremy Hicks, Jaguar Land Rover UK MD, said: “The Jaguar F-PACE is one of the greatest British automotive success stories and the fastest-selling Jaguar ever; fully developed and built in the UK, it’s managed to triumph over some of the world’s largest brands to win two World Car of the Year titles. It’s only right that the car and both of the trophies it won are displayed here in the UK at the London Motor Show for the whole nation to see.”
It is already the most searched Jaguar ever in the UK with 4.4 million unique page views of F-PACE content since launch and more than 680,000 people taking the time to configure their dream F-PACE online.
Jaguar’s first performance SUV is designed and developed in the UK and built at Solihull. The business invested £120m in its Solihull facility to build the F-PACE, part of a total £2bn investment in the plant and awarded £5bn of UK supplier contracts to support its production.
Engine options for the F-PACE range from the efficient and innovative four-cylinder 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel, with CO2 emissions as low as 126g/km to the high-performance 380PS, supercharged V6 petrol model that can accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 5.5 seconds.

The London Motor Show will host the UK Premiere of the All-New Alpine A110 Sports Car.

  • Alpine is set to give the new A110 sports car its UK debut at the 2017 London Motor Show
  • Fresh from a show-stopping global reveal at the Geneva Motor Show, the two-seater is one of the most highly anticipated models of the year that will play a starring role at Battersea Park
  • Over 150 brand new cars will be on display from a range of manufacturers at The London Motor Show, which runs from 4-7 May 2017
The London Motor Show is delighted to announce that Alpine’s stunning A110 two-seater sports car will be given its UK debut at this year’s Battersea Park event.
The A110 hogged the limelight at the recent Geneva Motor Show on its global reveal, with visitors marvelling at its retro-inspired, curvaceous design and aerodynamic features.
And now, alongside a number of high-profile exhibitors from May 4-7, Alpine will showcase its latest creation in front of tens of thousands of enthusiasts at The London Motor Show over the full three days of the event.

The London Motor Show is one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the automotive calendar, and it’s only fitting that a car of such high international acclaim will take the stage at Battersea Park.
Resurrecting the name and spirit of Alpine’s Berlinette model for the Sixties and Seventies, the French brand’s latest production car is designed to reflect the “timeless principles of compact size, light weight and agility”.
It features a full aluminium platform and upper body that make the car aerodynamic enough to not require a rear wing. The result is a flowing, elegant body that’s sure to turn plenty of heads at The London Motor Show.
The A110 is powered by a 1.8-litre turbo engine that produces 252hp in order to fully exploit the car’s unique aerodynamic properties and lightweight and agile frame. Alpine has confirmed that it will race from 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds.
Alec Mumford, Chairman of The London Motor Show, said: “It’s a real accolade to have the Alpine A110 showcased on these shores for the very first time at The London Motor Show. Due to popular demand, we’ve already had to release more tickets for May’s event, and having the Alpine A110 make its UK debut goes to show just how much weight it carries in the automotive world. We’re very excited to release the A110 to a UK crowd and anticipate the car well and truly stealing the show.”

The All-New 2016 MG GS Crossover undergoes a whole host of checks before it is made available to the consumer.

Do you know what a new car goes through just to make sure it’s right for every eventuality? Rigorous testing, worldwide travel, freezing temperatures and strong winds are just some of them. Next month, the new MG GS goes on sale in the UK.

To mark such a momentous occasion, MG has been keen to share the stages of the SUV’s growth; from the design brief and early sketches through to what it’s gone through to ensure it performs at its best.

All new models are put through their paces, and the MG GS is no exception to this thorough testing. The GS has travelled over 750,000 miles as part of its testing and it has braved the 46°C heat of Australia’s Alice Springs and -30° chills of Arjeplog in Sweden. Testing in such extreme temperatures guarantee that wherever you take your GS for adventures, it will stand up to the challenge.
To make sure the GS is as streamlined and fuel efficient as possible, it was also put through more than 200 hours of wind tunnel testing to develop its highly-efficient aerodynamics.
Testing has also covered the ‘wet dog in car’ scenario. By placing wet cloths in the GS, tests were able to determine how quickly the car can demist when moisture is present inside. Carrying out tests like this allow engineers to fine tune systems to ensure the GS runs at its optimum performance.
Matthew Cheyne, Head of Sales and Marketing for MG, said: “When you look into what a new car endures prior to going on sale, it’s fascinating and demonstrates the effort that goes into ensuring the car is the best it can possibly be.
“With the imminent arrival of the GS, we’re excited to share facts and figures and nuggets of information people may have not been privy to before. By sharing these, we’re showing customers that when they step into the GS they know it can stand up to all challenges and adventures they put it through.”

the 2016 London Motor Show has been mooted a great success, with brands already booking for 2017.

  • Visitor numbers exceed expectations
  • Exhibitors already booking for 2017
  • Next year’s show dates released
The new London Motor Show, staged at the Evolution Centre in Battersea Park, is being hailed as hugely successful by both visitors and exhibitors. Visitors over the sunny May weekend exceeded expectations with tickets sold out on both the Saturday and the Sunday with over 6,000 visitors on the Friday.

A variety of exhibitors have already booked stand spaces, some with a request for larger areas, for the 2017 event which will be staged again at Battersea Park from 4th to 7th May. The innovation of providing road test for selected cars on show was very successful with close on 100 tests arranged. Key models were also sold during the show including Tesla Model S models and MG reporting many serious potential orders for their SUV model which was launched at the show.
Intriguingly the Mitsuoka Brooklands model, the latest Japanese sports car which made its debut in Europe at the London Show, was purchased by a Belgian customer who travelled to the show on the last day of the event. Many other exhibitors reported considerable and genuine interest and valuable new sales prospects identified.
“We are absolutely delighted with the number of visitors and their reaction to the new London Motor Show”, said Show Chairman Alec Mumford. “Not only were exhibitors selling cars and securing valuable customer prospects, but visitors were very enthusiastic about bringing the Motor Show back to London and were looking forward to next year’s event. Encouragingly our exhibitors were very happy with the level and quality of visitors and many have already expressed interest in taking space next year, many asking for more space”.
The outside displays were very popular with the Stop the Crash display, which demonstrated the effectiveness of Automated Emergency Braking (AEB), and over the course of the show many visitors took part in the practical automatic braking demonstration including the Show Patron, HRH Prince Michael of Kent.
