Porsche concludes the first quarter with a ten percent increase on sales from a year earlier.

  • Ten percent increase of worldwide deliveries in the first quarter
Porsche closed the best first quarter in the history of the company with 55,974 new vehicles delivered worldwide in the first three months of 2016.  Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG surpassed the previous year's figure by nearly ten percent.

For Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing, these figures demonstrate high customer satisfaction and the attraction of the brand.
He emphasized that happy customers and secure jobs are more important to Porsche than sales volumes. "We do not measure our success by record sales alone," von Platen stated.

Porsche SUV models offered a strong contribution to the successful first quarter. With 21,576 deliveries, the Macan is currently the most popular Porsche model.
Compared with the same period last year, the youngest member of the Porsche family saw an increase of around 20 percent, closely followed by the Cayenne with 17,598 vehicles (up 8 percent). There was also a notable increase in the demand for the Boxster and Cayman models.
Despite the approaching model change to the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman, both mid-engine sports cars recorded two-digit growth rates with 3,029 (up 23 percent) and 2,822 (up 27 percent) deliveries respectively. The 911 remains popular with a total of 7,711 new vehicles delivered.
The US market saw 12,238 deliveries, up 7.1 percent compared to the previous year. Europe maintained the high pace of sales from 2015. The German market is the only one to lag behind. "However, the orders received in Germany are an optimistic sign," noted von Platen.

WORLDWIDE SALES 2015 - Porsche sets yet another record year with in excess of 225,000 units sold.

  • A new record year For the Stuttgart Sports car maker.

Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG can look back on an extremely successful fiscal year in 2015. With 225,121 vehicles delivered to customers worldwide, the company achieved a new record in 2015, exceeding the previous record of 189,849 cars in 2014 by 19 percent.

"The figures reflect the pulling power of our brand as well as the appeal of our products which we have launched on the market in the past few years," says Dr. Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG. "Focusing completely on the development, production, and sales of highly emotional sports cars is paying off."

However, sales are only a secondary yardstick for success for Porsche. "What is much more important for us are customer enthusiasm, return on sales, and secure jobs," says Blume.
The 911 legend continues unabated.

The sports car icon recorded an increase over the previous year of four percent with just under 32,000 units delivered. "This growth, even in a year in which the model was changed, shows the immensity of fascination for the 911 on the markets," said Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG.

The new 911 series will be available in the United States in March of 2016 with the flagship 911 Turbo models available in April.

Clearly, the growth drivers are the SUV models and the best-seller is the latest addition to the family. With more than 80,000 cars delivered globally, the Macan became the most coveted Porsche already in its first year of full availability. It is closely followed by the Cayenne (73,119 units). Compared with the previous year, the Macan and the Cayenne achieved two-digit growth figures.

Cayman sales rose slightly by one percent. The Panamera and Boxster models lagged behind the previous year levels. The reason for this is the upcoming model change from which Porsche is expecting renewed growth in 2016. In the future, the Boxster and Cayman models will be branded as the 718 model series and will continue to advance both technically and optically.

For the first time, the strongest single market in 2015 was China where Porsche delivered 58,009 vehicles. Compared with 2014, this was an increase of 24 percent. In the United States 51,756 vehicles were delivered, a growth of 10 percent. The European market grew by 24 percent to 75,354 units where Germany was the strongest single market with a total of 28,953 vehicles delivered (up 21 percent).

Porsche looks like it will have another record year after it releases its Q3 results showing significant gains.

Sports car maker secures return on sales of 15.5 percent after nine months
Porsche AG is heading towards another record year. In the first nine months of 2015, the sports car maker has increased deliveries of new vehicles by 28 percent to 173,085 and revenue by 35 percent to 16.47 billion euros. Operating profit exceeded that of the previous year by 32 percent, reaching a figure of 2.55 billion euros. Operating return on sales was 15.5 percent.

Chief Financial Officer and – since October 1 – new Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board, Lutz Meschke, emphasized that this trend is a positive indicator of the financial situation for Porsche. “After we were able to retire our net debt while simultaneously financing our growth in fiscal 2014, net liquidity has continued to increase in the first nine months.” Net liquidity from the car business division rose from 195 million euros as of December 31, 2014 to 1.32 billion euros as of September 30, 2015. Meschke also remains optimistic for the year as a whole: “I expect that we will achieve a significant year-on-year increase in revenue and operating profit in fiscal 2015.” He also reaffirmed, “Porsche will meet the return on sales target of 15 percent that it has set itself.” For the 2016 fiscal year, Meschke is confident in light of the outstanding order situation Porsche is enjoying.
The new Chairman of the Executive Board, Dr. Oliver Blume, pointed out that Porsche was recording two-digit growth rates in Europe as well as in America and Asia. “This homogeneous growth in the key markets is a particular strength of Porsche,” said Blume.  He gave two reasons for the success: “The world-famous top quality of the sports cars and the high level of customer satisfaction.”  Two studies conducted by the prestigious U.S. market research institute J.D. Power confirmed this in 2015. Porsche achieved the highest overall ranking in the “Initial Quality Study” (IQS) for the third time in a row. In the J.D. Power “Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout Study” (APEAL), Porsche achieved the highest score for the eleventh time in succession in the overall assessment and thus remains the most attractive car brand for drivers in the United States.
This worldwide success results in job creation for Porsche. After nine months of 2015, the number of employees has risen to 23,999 – nine percent more than twelve months ago. Within the last five years, the sports car maker has been able to grow its workforce from approximately 13,000 to the current level of 24,000 employees – an increase of more than 80 percent.
