Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

With less than a week to go before the big day, Mini fans have a lot to look forward to at this year’s Mini in the Park which takes place at Santa Pod, Beds, on Sunday August 14th.
One of the more entertaining features of the day will be the ‘Club Mini Push’, with representatives of some of the country’s biggest and best Mini clubs competing head to head in a battle to push a classic Mini around an obstacle course in the fastest possible time.
Visitors will also have the chance to enter a competition to win a classic Mini, sponsored by specialist insurers Carole Nash

The two-door saloon has been dramatically transformed during the 2016 show season, and the draw to win it will take place live at the show, with one lucky winner getting to drive away in the all-time British classic.
Renowned Mini stunt driver, Alistair Moffatt, promises to be a big draw as he shows off his millimetre-perfect handbrake turn parallel parking in a classic Mini – a breath-taking display for fans, as he slides into a parking space with just inches to spare.
In addition, there will be a hotly contested concours competition, featuring some of the finest cars on the Mini scene, plus a Mini-only ‘Run Wot Ya Brung’ contest on Santa Pod’s famous drag strip, with prizes at stake. Four runs down the famous strip can be bought for just £20 on top of the standard show entry.
Non-club members will also be able to enjoy the show, with a special Mini-only parking area reserved for their prized cars, and even a special award for the best ‘non-club’ Mini attending the event.
The event is also host to MiniWorld magazine's 25th anniversary celebrations, and most notable among this will be a display of featured cars from the past, present and future issues. Expect restored classics and some beautifully modified examples to excite and inspire every Mini fan.
Each year, over 1,000 Mini fans choose to start their MITP experience early, with a festival feel family friendly campsite, plus live music and Santa Pod’s famous funfair. Gates open at 2pm on the Saturday, with entertainment from 7.30pm. Admission is £5 per person in advance or £10 per person on arrival (gates close 2am Sunday morning).
The evening at MITP 2016 will include the Brighton Beatles, one of the best fab four tribute acts in the country. Prizes for those wearing proper 60s get-up are up for grabs in a Beatles-based fancy dress competition.

Britain’s premier event for fans of performance and modified Vauxhalls is gearing up to be one of the busiest yet, with club stand space already sold out and individual tickets selling like hot cakes.
The Performance Vauxhall Show (PVS) takes place at the famous Santa Pod drag strip on Sunday, June 12, and includes a number of features that are guaranteed to capture the attention of over 10,000 expected visitors.

With on-strip action, including the chance for owners to enter their own Vauxhalls in a VX-only ‘Run What Ya Brung’, Santa Pod will be spilling over with Griffin greats, be them retro Novas, Chevettes, Cavaliers and Astras, or more modern VX220s, Monaros and VXRs.
When classic and modern Vauxhalls aren’t going head-to-head on the iconic strip, the famous Santa Pod Jet Car will be in action. The record breaking Fireforce 3 develops more than 10,000bhp from its helicopter engine, and can reach a terminal velocity of over 300mph on the ¼-mile strip. But be warned – bring your ear plugs!
For those wanting to run something a bit tamer, drag strip tickets cost £20 per car on the day, or £10 on the Saturday for those who arrive early.
As well as the drag strip action, PVS promises a host of other features including a lively retail village for the latest parts, mods and memorabilia, a show and shine, and some of the best and busiest club displays going.Fast Car magazine will be there, along with Performance Vauxhall, with a special show subscription offer of £15 for six issues.

Although the show itself takes place on the Sunday, part of PVS is the party atmosphere, and camping at the show on the Saturday evening is where the fun really begins. Weekend tickets, including camping, are available for £25 per person if booked in advance (saving £8). A late night bar, DJ and Santa Pod’s funfair will all be in action for the evening.

All New event for the UK's most popular brand, The New Ford Fest at Santa Pod this September.

  • Brand new event for fans of Fords, classic and modern
  • Takes place at iconic venue of Santa Pod on Sunday, September 13
  • Thousands of cars on display, retail area and drag strip action
A brand new event for lovers of the UK’s most popular car brand is set to take place on Sunday September 13 at the iconic Santa Pod Raceway in Podington, Northants.

Ford Fest is a celebration of Fords of all ages, classic or new, standard or modified, and will feature cars from all corners of the Ford Scene, with club displays and private entries welcome in the show and shine competition.

Some of the star cars from two of the UK’s biggest magazines dedicated to the Blue Oval, Fast Ford and Classic Ford, will be among the exhibits, from immaculately restored classics through to the fastest and most extremely modified examples.

A festival atmosphere is promised, with a substantial retail village in the paddock, plus kids’ entertainment and a funfair creating a family friendly environment.

The world-famous drag strip will be operational throughout the day, with visitors encouraged to enter their favourite Fords into a ‘Run What Ya Brung’ competition. For just £20, showgoers will be able to compete against each other, with four runs on the famous US-style quarter–mile drag strip.

It won't just be Fords on the strip either, with Santa Pod wheeling out its ‘Fireforce 3’ Jet Car on the day.

The famous dragster has a Pratt and Whitney engine from a Sikorsky CH-54A Skycrane Helicopter, developing approximately 10,000bhp, as it guzzles its way through around 120 litres of aviation fuel per appearance on track, which lasts around only 6 seconds. It uses its 5,500lb/ft of torque to fire itself down the quarter-mile, so blink and you'll miss it.

Tickets for the show are now on sale, with a substantial 20 percent discount for those booking in advance. They're available from the show’s website at www.fordfestshow.co.uk, priced at £12 for adults or £5 for children.

Those wishing to make a weekend of it will be able to camp onsite, adding to the festival atmosphere. The camping area will have all the required facilities, and costs just £7 per person if booked in advance.
