USA SALES JUNE - AUDI - the german luxury brand hits 78 months of continuous growth.

  • Q5 sales rose 1.8 percent; Q7 sales jump 19 percent
  • Sales of all-new A5 Sportback were 1,147; Demand for A4 sedan increased 7.9 percent
  • Audi SUV sales increased 6.9 percent for the month
Audi of America reported a June sales increase of 5.3 percent to 19,416 vehicles, as the all-new Q5 and the all-new-to-the-U.S. A5 Sportback helped drive the demand.

June was the 78th consecutive month of record sales for Audi of America and the third-best sales month in the brand’s U.S. history. The previous June record was set last year with 18,445 deliveries. Through the first half of the year, Audi has sold 102,971 vehicles in the U.S., more than in any full year prior to 2010.
Deliveries of the new Q5 rose to 4,498 and have risen 17 percent for the year. Q7 sales rose 19 percent over last June to 3,114 and have risen 14 percent year-to-date. Q3 rose 1.3 percent to 1,741.
Total Audi SUV sales were 9,353. Through the first half of the year, Audi SUV sales have risen 14 percent to 51,565.
Deliveries of the new A5 coupe, Sportback and Cabriolet, more than doubled to 2,374 vehicles. The A4 sedan posted sales of 3,022, a 7.9 percent increase for the month and 16 percent year-to-date, as Audi sedans continue to outperform a challenging sedan market overall. Audi car sales rose 3.8 percent to 10,063.
“The design, technology and quality of our new models are drawing customers to Audi showrooms and helping us do well in a tightening market,” said Cian O’Brien, chief operating officer, Audi of America. “The rollout of the Q5 and the arrival of the RS 3 and TT RS this summer, give us confidence that Audi will continue to win new fans.”

Is it a Vauxhall or an Opel, no, it is Buicks version of the Insignia, the Buick Regal GS

Where spirited driving meets attainable luxury and sleek, sporty design meets modern usefulness, you’ll find the 2018 Buick Regal GS – a car for commutes that are anything but common. As the brand’s most dramatic expression of design and dynamics, this all-new model balances these key characteristics to provide customers excellent driving performance every day and in every season.
The 2018 Regal GS advances the nameplate with 51 more horsepower than the model it replaces, more refined transmission and AWD technology, all-new, heated/cooled and massaging performance seats and the added functionality and style of a five-door sportback design. Starting at $39,990 with destination charges, the Regal GS offers luxury features at a price more attainable than competitors from Audi and BMW.
“This is a sport sedan designed for everyday driving, but one that makes every drive special,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president, Global Buick and GMC. “The new Regal GS is in the sweet spot of the market: more refined and luxurious than the mainstream, more value for the price with style and premium features on par with higher-end competitors, and with standard features like AWD with active twin clutch and a rear sportback design that will surprise customers with its usefulness.”
 Regal GS Highlights:
  • New 3.6L V-6 with 310 horsepower and 282 lb-ft of torque featuring direct injection, cylinder deactivation and stop/start technology
  • Standard nine-speed automatic transmission and intelligent all-wheel drive (AWD) with active twin clutch for improved vehicle control, and five-link rear suspension
  • GS-specific, AGR-certified, performance seats that are heated, cooled and massaging with adjustable seat and seat-back bolsters as well as thigh support
  • Second-generation Continuous Damping Control (CDC) capable of 500 adjustments per second and Interactive Drive Control with GS and Sport modes
  • Unique sport front and rear fascias, side skirts and rear spoiler
  • Standard 19-inch wheels
  • Performance brakes with Brembo front calipers
  • Sport-tuned exhaust system
  • Sport flat-bottom steering wheel and metal pedals
  • Available head-up display
Buick’s most advanced new propulsion components come standard on the new Regal GS. With 310 horsepower, its refined 3.6-liter V-6 provides more power than an Acura TLX A-Spec or a Lexus IS350 F-Sport but offers seamless auto stop/start technology and can cruise on four cylinders. The V-6 engine is complemented by a sport-tuned dual exhaust system.
Regal GS’ intelligent AWD system with an active twin clutch can precisely transfer torque between the rear wheels for more refined and efficient performance, and the GS receives one of the first applications of the nine-speed automatic transmission in the Buick lineup that’s mated to AWD. This advanced new transmission will soon be offered across five different Buick models.
Every Regal GS also features Buick’s Interactive Drive Control, allowing the driver to tailor the car’s dynamics based on different drive experiences through a standard setting or Sport and GS modes selected via the center console. Interactive Drive Control utilizes Buick’s second-generation Continuous Damping Control (CDC), which is able to adjust suspension damping up to 500 times per second.
Versus a standard 2018 Regal Sportback, the GS also has standard Brembo brakes for more confident stopping power.
“With the all-new 2018 Regal GS, we set out to make a driver-focused, engaging and entertaining sport sedan without sacrificing the smooth ride and refined character expected of any modern Buick,” said Martin Hayes, chief engineer for the Buick Regal GS. “Our new V-6 and nine-speed transmission, intelligent AWD and CDC all work to deliver excellent driving performance.”
Outside, Buick’s signature sculptural beauty presents the car’s sporting nature in an understated way with aggressive front and rear fascias, standard 19-inch wheels, a rear decklid spoiler and GS badging front and rear. Full LED headlamps are an option.
Inside, the Regal features unique perforated GS-specific performance seats with integrated headrests and adjustable lumbar and thigh support bolsters. The seats are heated and ventilated and come standard with a massage function. The interior also features a standard heated flat-bottom sport steering wheel and GS-specific pedals and sill plates.
The 2018 Regal GS offers a cohesive and connected infotainment experience with an 8-inch diagonal touchscreen and 8-inch diagonal reconfigurable instrument cluster as standard equipment. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility both come standard. A full-color head-up display is available with an optional Driver Confidence II package that also includes several safety features including Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert and Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Automatic Braking.
The Regal GS is a highest performance expression of the 2018 Buick Regal GS Sportback. Other Regal Sportback models will offer a standard 2.0T engine and sleek new design at a starting price -- $25,915 – that’s approximately $2,000 lower than the 2017 Regal
The first-ever Regal TourX, which combines car-like handling and SUV capability, launches with limited availability of select higher trim levels later this year. TourX models with a starting price of $29,995 are expected to be available at dealers in February 2018.
Every Regal also comes equipped with a 3 month/3 gigabyte trial of OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot[1] and access to an unlimited data plan for $20 per month[2], as well as five years of the OnStar Basic Plan[3] at no additional cost. Among other benefits like the myBuick app[4], this connectivity plan features OnStar Smart Driver, an opt-in service designed to help Buick owners maximize their vehicle’s overall performance and become better drivers.

WORLDWIDE SALES MAY - AUDI - The luxury brand drops sales in the month and YTD

  • Sales in North America up 4.6 percent in the month, cumulative sales up 6.6 percent
  • Around 159,600 deliveries worldwide in May – down 2.8 percent
  • Sales chief Dietmar Voggenreiter: “Following agreement in China on our way to former market position”
In May, AUDI AG delivered around 159,600 cars to customers, 2.8 percent less than in the same month in 2016. Around 738,300 deliveries over the first five months of the year represent a decrease of 5.9 percent worldwide.
Despite the downturn of the total U.S. market, Audi managed to further increase sales in the United States in May too, achieving substantial growth in North America overall since the start of the year (+6.6%). In China, the sales balance for the past month (-4.0%) was still influenced by the negotiations on future collaboration, which have now been brought to a successful conclusion.
The intended comprehensive deal was sealed in the second half of the month. The Chinese Audi dealers reported 48,012 units delivered in May, the highest monthly sales figure in the year to date.
“The breakthrough achieved with our partners in China opens the door for us to the market potential of the next decade. And it gives us a positive outlook for developments over the next few months,” says Dietmar Voggenreiter, Board member for Sales and Marketing at AUDI AG. “The last few days of May have already shown that we will see sales recover rapidly in China and that we will quickly get back to our former market position.”
Due to substantial falls over the past few months, sales in the Chinese market are down 15.2 percent year-on-year since January. For the month of May, deliveries were 4.0 percent below the 2016 figure. With 48,012 deliveries, Audi already managed to sell around a quarter more units in May than the monthly average total from January through April. In the first five months of the year, a total of 202,885 Chinese customers received keys for their new Audi.
In Western Europe, Audi sales increased slightly by 1.0 percent since the start of the year to around 357,750 cars. Sales of around 71,500 units in the past month were up 0.9 percent year-on-year. “The stable development in Europe is pleasing given the model changeovers for the A5 and Q5, as well as the very positive trend in our order balance,” says Voggenreiter. In particular, the ongoing model changeover for the Audi Q5 currently still has a dampening effect on deliveries.
Engine variants will successively be available at dealerships for the much sought-after new edition of the SUV bestseller. The Q2 successfully opens up a new SUV segment for Audi: In Western Europe alone, around 33,750 customers decided to buy the all-new premium compact SUV in the first five months of the year.
Across all models, Audi set a new record for cumulative sales in Germany (+0.8% to 139,297 cars). In May, the Four Rings closed the month on a par with 2016, up 0.3 percent to 28,118 units. France (+7.6% to 5,630 cars in the month) and the Southern European core markets in particular provided a positive impetus for Audi in the past month.
In Italy, the brand’s sales were up another 5.5 percent to 5,826 customers in May. The books reflect cumulative growth of 9.0 percent with a total of 28,676 cars sold. Spain reported 5.8 percent growth to 5,141 units for May; 25,060 cars sold since January represent a year-on-year increase of 5.7 percent.
In the United States, Audi sales once again grew in the past month despite the declining overall market. Deliveries increased by 2.5 percent to 19,197 in May. The success of the Audi Q7 is a key factor in the substantial growth for the brand since the turn of the year (+6.5% to 83,555 cars).
The full-size SUV continued to progress significantly in its largest sales market in May, with sales up 12.3 percent to 13,618 U.S. customers since January. The high level of demand for the Q family’s current top model ensures that in Canada Audi is making the largest gains overall of any of its major markets, with cumulative sales up 14.7 percent to 14,347 units.
With the successful local market launch of the new A5 Sportback, May (+16.6% to 3,852 cars) was the strongest sales month ever in Audi history in Canada. For the region of North America as a whole, around 103,500 deliveries since January equate to growth of 6.6 percent; about 24,400 customers in May represent an increase of 4.6 percent.
