Bespoke tuning & design company, VIP Design London, has created the most powerful Jaguar F-Type in the world

Bespoke vehicle tuning and automotive design company, VIP Design London, has created what it believes is the most powerful Jaguar F-Type in the world, the VIP Design Project Predator.
Delivering a blisteringly quick 650bhp of pure driving passion and a top speed of more than 200mph, the dyno tested and proven upgrade package is delivered through a number of mechanical and software upgrades working in unison.

Firstly, the engine. High-flow air filters achieve increased combustion and throttle. An uprated supercharger pulley, part of VIP Design’s secret recipe, brings the software upgrade to life. Increasing supercharger boost pressures perfectly matched to the enhanced fuelling of the software delivers hugely dramatic reductions in 0-60 times and power delivery across the whole rev range. The VIP Design Team spent a full three weeks developing this remap on the dyno.
In an attempt to control this beast, VIP Design have lowered the suspension by 30mm, improving the poise and stance. Harder, stronger suspension parts, joints and rubbers have been fitted to improve responsiveness on the road, transforming the handling of the standard F-Type.
For extra purr-appeal VIP Design has uprated the exhaust system to a full manifold back high performance exhaust system, available with two different switchable sound levels. The VIP Design team felt that the standard F-Type exhaust never quite sounded like a V8 Supercar as managing director Paul Busby explains.
“The exhaust was not deep enough, more of a shriek than a V8 rumble. The VIP Design F-Type Predator changes all that, the full manifold back high performance exhaust system is switchable, allowing different purr levels – loud and really loud! You can’t help but grin every time you press the button.”
It’s not just performance upgrades that make the Predator so special. VIP Design combines performance enhancement with unique styling upgrades in one package.
Carbon Fibre bonnet vents, beautifully styled and left in raw polished form, front and rear carbon fibre splitters, adding down force and style, and stunning unique polished carbon fibre rear diffuser, all help the car stand out from the crowd. Hand cast aluminium wheels available in 24 different design options and 28 different colours add to the look. And for optional extra-bling, window tinting in a variety of almost 50 shades of grey.
The package is fitted and installed at the VIP Design studio in Warwickshire, with mail-order and international shipping also available, priced from £12,600.
Paul added: “Since the Jaguar F-Type was launched, the sleek lines and V8 engine were always going to lend themselves to power upgrades, and appeal to passionate drivers who are never going to settle for stock options. Our new package has created the most exciting F-Type available in the world and is certain to thrill serious petrol-heads anywhere.”

Motor Village UK is pleased to supply the Italian Ambassador with a brand new Alfa Giulietta.

Every customer who visits Motor Village UK is a VIP, and that was certainly true this week (2 November) when the Italian ambassador arrived to collect his new Alfa Giulietta from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ flagship London dealer.
His Excellency, Ambassador Pasquale Terracciano, was handed the keys to his new Giulietta 1.4 170 TCT Business Edition by Fabio di Prima, managing director, Motor Village UK.

The twin-clutch, semi-automatic car will be used for general Embassy duties, including travelling to official engagements throughout London, and collecting foreign delegates arriving from Italy into Heathrow Airport.
And there is an added bonus to having the Giulietta, according to the Ambassador.
“The official Ambassador’s car is a Maserati, but the Alfa will be ideal for me when I want to move around with a little less visibility,” says Mr Terracciano. “The Giulietta is a stylish car, but more discreet in that respect.
“I am delighted to take delivery also, for sentimental reasons,” he adds. “The first car I can ever remember being in was my father’s Alfa Romeo Giulietta, so it is nice to be back in a more modern version.”
“We were delighted when the Ambassador’s office contacted us about a new car,” says Fabio di Prima. “The Giulietta fits perfectly with the Ambassador’s requirements, and I am sure he will have many years of happiness with it.”
The Alfa Giulietta range starts at £18,450 OTR for the 1.4 TB 120 Progression.

  • Biometric wearable devices shows fan’s heart rate increased by 60.3% to 93 bpm when McEnroe revealed himself as driver
John McEnroe swapped his role as a Wimbledon commentator for chauffeur car driver today, as the all-time tennis great surprised two unsuspecting Wimbledon fans with an unforgettable journey to The All England Club.

McEnroe surprised tennis fans Tom Payne and Nick Webb, who were selected to take part in the Secret Chauffeur stunt and offered a VIP trip to Wimbledon as part of Jaguar’s #FeelWimbledon campaign. On route to Wimbledon, the real chauffeur jumped out the car to be replaced by John McEnroe as he took hold of the wheel and personally drove the two unsuspecting fans down to The Championships, Wimbledon.
Jaguar is using cutting-edge sociometic, biometric and atmospheric sensors to analyse and celebrate the unique spectrum of emotions associated with the world’s number one tennis tournament. Documenting The Secret Chauffeur experience, Jaguar captured the emotional reactions of Payne and Webb using biometric wristbands. Hidden cameras were installed in a new Jaguar XE to film the fans responses. Watch McEnroe as The Secret Chauffeur here:https://youtu.be/xbXez5GTujo
Results from the wearables, which are measuring the heart rate of selected fans every day during Wimbledon, shows both Payne and Webb’s heart rate increased dramatically when McEnroe switched as their driver. When McEnroe was revealed, Tom Payne’s biometric wearable device showed his excitement and heart rate which increased by 60.3% to 93 bpm. It continued to rise as the fans quizzed McEnroe on his thoughts about Murray’s chances to win a second Wimbledon title, and posed for photographs with the American tennis legend outside the famous gates to the world’s premier tennis tournament.
Before resuming his media duties for the day, McEnroe, said: “I was very happy to be part of this creative stunt with Jaguar. This is the greatest Grand Slam of them all – both in the eyes of the players and fans – and the surprise on Tom and Nick’s faces when I got in the car shows just how excited the fans get at Wimbledon.”
Tom Payne said: “I thought I was just coming to Wimbledon to watch the quarter finals and enjoy the atmosphere, but to be driven there in style by the legend John McEnroe was incredible. It was an awesome surprise!”
Nick Webb added: “I think my reactions say it all! Walking into Wimbledon with McEnroe was something I’ll never forget. Thank you to Jaguar for such a brilliant start to our day at Wimbledon.”

During this year's Open Championship, Mercedes-Benz presented the "Mercedes-Benz Vision Golf Cart".

Hundreds of golf as well as automobile fans took part in an international competition by submitting their ideas for a golf cart of the future. This invaluable input provided the basis for a visionary golf cart design study created by the Mercedes-Benz design department. As well as reflecting the innovative and forward-thinking ideas and wishes of golf players, the study includes the characteristics and technologies of a Mercedes-Benz.

“The Mercedes-Benz Vision Golf Cart has a refined, simplified yet functional shape that fits well into our ‘Sensual-Purity’ design philosophy. The flow shapes create a ‘sculpture on wheels’ impression”, says Gorden Wagener, Vice President Design Daimler AG. “I was very inspired by the idea of designing a golf cart, giving it a new shape and new sorts of meaning. Why not treating a golf cart like a car, and making it a 'Golf Car'”.

Earlier this year, Mercedes-Benz called upon golf and automobile fans from around the world to submit their ideas for a Mercedes-Benz golf cart of the future. So began the search to find the best, most unusual, most innovative and most promising concepts. A jury chaired by Gorden Wagener then selected the best entries from among all the submissions. The winners received an exclusive invitation as VIP guests to the Open Championship.

Building on the basis provided by these ideas and concepts, and due consideration to the Mercedes-Benz design strategy, the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Center in Carlsbad, California, developed the Mercedes-Benz Vision Golf Cart. The cart combines the aspects of Mercedes-Benz vehicles with the functionality of a golf cart. The diamond grille, for instance, was incorporated to give the cart a modern face that is unmistakably a Mercedes-Benz.

The idea of the competition was enthusiastically taken up by golfers from all over the world like Japan, South Africa and Germany, as well as North- and South America. The most frequently mentioned ideas and requirements were then incorporated into the design study that has now been presented.

The Mercedes-Benz Vision Golf Cart and its innovative features

The Mercedes-Benz Vision Golf Cart is electric driven, powered by a battery that is kept continuously charged by a solar module integrated into the roof. Manual charging, as for a conventional golf cart, is also possible. The vehicle is controlled in innovative and intuitive fashion via a joystick mounted on the centre console, so making it possible for either passenger to drive the golf cart.

„It has the latest in modern technology. Using touch screen monitors, virtually all aspects of the cart can be controlled without extra buttons. Simplicity is the key. Intuition and pure form can maybe best describe the cart“, says Margarete Wies, Head of the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Center in Carlsbad, California.

The centre console also incorporates a multimedia panel that includes a rotatable docking station for an iPad or iPhone and a USB interface. Various functions that are available in the golf cart can be controlled from here, for example vehicle functions such as loudspeakers or the air-conditioning system, the head-up display, the music system or communication with the clubhouse and other golf carts.

If so required the head-up display integrated into the windscreen can also be used, when the golf cart is stationary, to show the course layout, the current status of the game or weather information. The digital speedometer is placed beneath the windscreen. One wish that came up time and time again, irrespective of country or language, was the possibility of being able to use a telephone. The cart thus also features Bluetooth, so allowing telephone calls to be made via the loudspeaker system while on the move.

An important issue is connectivity. Due to the iPad/iPhone connection to the cart it is possible to communicate directly with the golf club, for example to order drinks or food for the halfway catering. Current weather data and rain radars are available at any time. Working people have the possibility to write e-mails. In addition, users can share the digital score card or even photos from the golf game directly on social media channels.

The so-called "fore button" can be used to quickly warn other players of a misplaced shot. Pressing this button sends a warning to all other golf carts within the danger zone so that they, too, can issue a warning signal.

The interior takes its cues from the design of a Mercedes-Benz car. The elegant and ergonomically shaped seats, for example, are heated as well as ventilated and can be adjusted electronically using the Mercedes-typical controls on the side of the seat. The AIRSCARF neck-level heating system, first introduced in 2011 in the new SLK Roadster, is also envisaged as a feature of the Mercedes-Benz Vision Golf Cart. AIRSCARF, as its name suggests, wraps the neck and shoulder area in warm air, so making it possible to drive the vehicle open, even in cooler weather. There is also an integrated air-conditioning system, so ensuring a pleasant ambience even on a very hot or cold day.

The optional lightweight doors are another special feature. A click-in function allows these to be very simply fitted if the weather is not so good, so providing protection against wind and rain. A retractable lightning rod is included for added safety in case storm clouds start to gather. In bright conditions the windscreen can be darkened at the touch of a button, while it also features windscreen wipers with rain sensors, thus ensuring that they activate as soon as it starts to rain. In addition, the space behind the seats is ideal for stowing umbrellas.

One very commonly expressed request from the international entrants to the competition was, quite simply, to have plenty of stowage space. The Mercedes-Benz Vision Golf Cart therefore includes a whole range of stowage facilities. As well as the trunk compartment underneath the stowage area for the two golf bags, there are two dashboard compartments. The centre console is also specially designed to accommodate golf balls and scorecards and have a sun glasses storage. There is a small fridge fitted beneath the centre console, while cup holders between the seats will keep drinks hot or cold. An illuminated vanity mirror was another request, from female participants in particular, and is located at eye-height for the drivers.

In addition to its use on the golf course, the golf cart is also able to run on normal roads. The designers have, for example, also included all the vital features such as indicators, headlamps and tail lights. Thanks to the LED headlamps, play can also continue when the light starts to fail, as they include a floodlight function.

Although the Mercedes-Benz Vision Golf Cart is only a design study so far, there are no doubt many players who would like to see the cart become reality, bringing its fresh ideas and thus more fun, more innovation and more comfort to moving around on the golf course.

Å KODA used to be a laughing stock, now who is laughing !!!!!

  • The celebration car is a new third-generation Å KODA Octavia
  • Å KODA continues largest model offensive in the company’s history
  • In the past twelve months alone, Å KODA built one million cars
  • Growth Strategy 2018 yields results – capacities to be expanded

Å KODA has produced its 15-millionth car. The celebration vehicle – a silver, third-generation Å KODA Octavia – rolled off the assembly line at Å KODA’s main plant in Mladá Boleslav, 5 February. The vehicle will be used as a VIP sedan at the Å KODA Technology Center in ÄŒesana.

The 15 million car threshold underlines the dynamic growth of the brand. In the past six years alone, one third of the total 15 million vehicles rolled off the assembly lines. Just one year ago, at the beginning of 2012, Å KODA had produced its 14-millionth car.

“The entire Å KODA team is very proud of the 15 million celebration,” says Å KODA chairman of the board, Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland. “Producing 15 million cars is a symbol for the great development of the Å KODA brand. We have been building vehicles for 118 years and automobiles since the year 1905. Thus we are among the automobile brands with the richest traditions in the world,” says Vahland. In the coming years, Å KODA plans to continue to speed up development and sell at least 1.5 million vehicles per year by 2018. By launching the Citigo, Rapid and the new Octavia, the greatest model offensive in company's history has had a successful start. In total Å KODA will launch eight new or facelifted models in 2013.

A class of its own

In the coming days, the new Å KODA Octavia will be launched in the Czech Republic and Germany, while other markets will follow in coming weeks. “The Å KODA Octavia is the brand’s core product and outsells other Å KODA models by far,” says the Å KODA CEO. In 2012, the Octavia accounted for about 44 percent of the brand’s worldwide sales. Like no other car, the Octavia symbolises the rapid success story of the brand over the past two decades. Since 1996, about 3.75 million Octavias have been delivered to customers.

Å KODA UK will launch Octavia in the coming weeks to the UK markets. In 2012, the UK broke through the 50,000 barrier for the first time with more than 53,000 cars and a market share of 2.6%, a record for the UK.

Domestic investments in the future of the Å KODA brand

For the production of the new Octavia generation, ŠKODA set in motion one of the most comprehensive modernisation and expansion projects in the history of the main plant in Mladá Boleslav. The core of the measures consists of an increase of the capacity of the assembly line for the ŠKODA models Octavia and Rapid in Mladá Boleslav, from 800 to 1,200 vehicles per day.

For this purpose, a new body shop and a fully-automated paint shop for interior car body parts were installed at the plant in Mladá Boleslav, among other projects. This month will see the ground-breaking for a new, even more environmentally-friendly pressing line. Besides the ŠKODA Octavia and the ŠKODA Rapid, the ŠKODA Fabia is produced on another assembly line in Mladá Boleslav.

At the ŠKODA plant in Kvasiny, Czech Republic, the production capacity for the ŠKODA Yeti was recently doubled to 100,000 vehicles per year. Furthermore, ŠKODA modernised the plant in order to manufacture the ŠKODA Roomster, which moved to Kvasiny. Until the end of 2012, the Roomster had been produced in the ŠKODA plant in Vrchlabí. The company invested about 7.2 million EUR in relocating the production.

The relocation of the Roomster production to Kvasiny took place within the framework of the conversion of the ŠKODA plant in Vrchlabí, Czech Republic, into an exclusive component factory. Since October 2012, it has been producing the direct shift transmission DQ200 with dual clutch (DSG) for the Volkswagen Group. Together with the Volkswagen Group, the Czech manufacturer invested about 170 million EUR in the preparation of the plant for DSG production.

The international growth markets

In order to prepare for the planned growth, Å KODA has also been expanding its capacities in China, Russia and India:

In China, the Å KODA Yeti has been built in cooperation with Shanghai Volkswagen since the end of 2012. This year will also see the introduction of the Chinese version of the Å KODA Rapid, followed by the new Å KODA Octavia.

In Russia, the compact SUV Å KODA Yeti began to roll off the assembly lines at the Russian GAZ plant in Nizhniy Novgorod a few weeks ago. Beginning in mid-2013, the plant will also manufacture the new Å KODA Octavia for the Russian market. The manufacture of the new Å KODA Rapid for the Russian market has been planned to begin in spring 2014.

In India, the compact sedan Rapid has been produced for the local market at the plant in Pune alongside other Å KODA models since 2011.
