Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

AUTOCAR GAME CHANGER - The Alfa Romeo Giulia is a true game changer for the brand.

  • Alfa Romeo Giulia named a ‘Game Changer’ at 2017 Autocar Awards
  • Lauded for its ‘incredible performance and exciting handling’
  • The Giulia is available to buy now from £29,550 OTR
The Alfa Romeo Giulia has been named a ‘Game Changer’ at the 2017 Autocar Awards as it has signalled ‘a complete transformation for one of the most loved names in motoring’.
Mark Tisshaw, Editor of Autocar, commented: “This is not only the most competitive Alfa Romeo saloon since the last Giulia was launched more than half a century ago but, crucially for anyone with Alfisti blood lurking in their veins, it’s the most likeable, too. With its incredible performance and exciting handling, the Giulia is everything you’d want an Alfa Romeo to be.”
Developed by the best engineers, designers and stylists within FCA, the new Giulia embodies the core elements that have made Alfa Romeo one of the world's best-loved automotive brands: Distinctive Italian design; innovative powertrains, perfect weight distribution, unique technical solutions and the best weight-to-power ratio.
Collecting the award at the event in the Silverstone Wing, Ashley Andrew, Managing Director FCA UK, remarked; “The Giulia has marked a turning point for Alfa Romeo, signalling a new era for the company where the driver is back at the heart of everything we do. Its engaging drive, five star NCAP rating, with highest ever recorded adult occupancy score, and impressive residual values has echoed across the brand, bolstering buyer confidence. The success of the Giulia has allowed us to expand the range with the introduction of the 280hp Veloce, bridging the gap between the standard Giulia and the Quadrifoglio. It also lays the ground for the introduction of Alfa Romeo’s first ever SUV- the Stelvio – due for launch later this year.”
Autocar says that its ‘Game Changers’ are cars that ‘bring new, higher standards to their classes, or because they defy conventions to benefit buyers.’ Of the Giulia, Autocar says: “The Giulia is a riveting, idiosyncratic and striking entrant into a class usually defined by an understated brand of superiority.”

Alfa Romeo takes it upgraded MiTo and makes a piece if art, view the process and finished picture here.

  • To launch the new Alfa MiTo in the UK, Alfa Romeo pushed the performance of its stylish three door supermini to the limit with a driving challenge with a twist
  • A masked pro-driver used Alfa Romeo’s exclusive D.N.A driving mode selector to create a MiTo Work of Art, all captured using the new dual camera on the iPhone 7 Plus
  • The new Alfa MiTo is available to order now from Alfa Romeo showrooms with prices starting from £12,960 OTR
Alfa Romeo put the stylish three door supermini, which features a new look and more technology, to the test in a unique video to show how the new Alfa MiTo’s urban style and strong personality puts fun back into drivers’ hands.
To capture the new Alfa MiTo’s dynamic spirit and driving capabilities when it comes to performance and agility, the Italian manufacturer placed the spirited supermini in the hands of a masked pro-driver to tackle a warehouse course of colourful powder and paint, and ultimately create an Alfa MiTo work of art.

In an industry first, the video was captured using the new dual camera feature on the water resistant new iPhone 7 Plus and compatible accessories.

The new Alfa MiTo is equipped with Alfa Romeo’s unique D.N.A system, a driving mode selector which adapts the vehicle’s performance to suit the driver’s style and road conditions.
Starting in Dynamic mode, the new Alfa MiTo blasted through the powder circuit with ease, showing off its sporty performance and stylish new look.
Once the All-Weather mode was selected, the slippery paint also proved no challenge to the new Alfa MiTo thanks to the mode’s improved control and handling in adverse weather conditions. The paint stage also put the iPhone 7’s new water resistant handset to the test.
Damien Dally, Alfa Romeo UK Country Manager said, “This demonstration of the new Alfa MiTo’s agility and performance shows the quality of the technology at play in our cars and highlights how the stylish, dynamic new Alfa MiTo can be ready for anything at the flick of a switch.”
The new Alfa MiTo has a stand-out style with a new sports grille, new alloy wheel designs and new badging emulating the style of the highly anticipated Alfa Romeo Giulia. The new range consists of four trim levels (MiTo, Super, Speciale and the range-topping Veloce) with interior updates including enhanced detailing, new upholsteries and improved technologies.
The range becomes even more tempting with the introduction of an updated 1.3-litre JTDM-2 diesel with increased output of 95hp and lower emissions of just 89g/km.
The new Alfa MiTo is available to order now from Alfa Romeo showrooms, priced from £12,960 OTR. For more information on the full Alfa Romeo range or to book a test drive, visit alfaromeo.co.uk.

This engine and transmission combination has a top speed of 121mph and can accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 10.2 seconds, while its official combined cycle fuel-economy and emissions figures matches those of the manual version, returning 74.3 MPG (3.8 l/100 km) and producing just 99 g/km of CO2.
