The Fiat 500 takes Best City car in The Sunday Times Top 100 cars list 2015.

  • FIAT 500 wins its category in the prestigious and influential Sunday Times Top 100 Cars 2016
  • Judges praised the FIAT 500 for its charming looks, spirited driving characteristics and new technologies
  • The FIAT 124 Spider is also named in The Sunday Times list of most eagerly awaited models of 2016
The new FIAT 500 has won the City Car category in the Sunday Times Top 100 Cars 2016 awards. Benefiting from 1,900 revisions, all designed to enhance the ownership experience and refine its inimitable style, the new FIAT 500 has been well received by the preeminent experts at The Sunday Times.

Columnist Giles Smith wrote, following the FIAT 500’s launch in Turin in July, “People love this car as hard as they’ve loved pretty much anything on four wheels in the 21st century,” while Jeremy Clarkson described it as "a hoot” when he test drove the car in the UK in November.

The judges noted that the new FIAT 500 is “still charming enough buyers to make it one of Britain’s bestselling cars,” complimenting its appearance, its new touch-screen technology and broader colour palette, not to mention its “…youthful enthusiasm in turns and the fun, lively 0.9-litre TwinAir engine, both of which bring joy to city driving.”

The new FIAT 124 Spider was also named by The Sunday Times as one of most eagerly awaited models of 2016.

Commenting on the win, Sebastiano Fedrigo, head of brand FIAT UK, said, “We’re delighted to kick off 2016 with a category win in the prestigious and influential Sunday Times Top 100 Cars.

It’s wonderful that the experts appreciate the enhancements that we made to our iconic city car, which were introduced to keep the FIAT 500 ahead of the pack in terms of connectivity and technological features while also evolving its unmistakable style and broadening its appeal even further.”

The new FIAT 500 went on sale in the UK in September with revised exterior style including new bumpers, front and rear light systems and new colour options. Cabin comfort was also enhanced, headlined by the new Uconnect infotainment systems with optional DAB and TomTom satellite navigation.

The engine range offers more efficiency and eco-friendliness for 2016 and there are even more personalisation possibilities thanks to a new range of expressive Second Skins.

Prices for the FIAT 500 TwinAir 85hp start at just £13,065 OTR, with prices for the FIAT 500 starting from just £10,890 OTR for the 1.2 litre Pop. The FIAT 124 Spider will launch in the UK in the second half of 2016.

FIAT launches latest 500 derivative at Paris, the new 500X.

  • All-new FIAT 500X unveiled in two different versions – one for those with a spirited, metropolitan outlook and the other for active, stylish adventurers
  • Distinctive Italian style blends the spirit of the iconic original with a modern and elegant design
  • Compact on the outside, the FIAT 500X is spacious and inviting, and packed with the latest technologies on the inside
  • A broad range of petrol and diesel engines, plus a choice of transmissions and drivetrain configurations are available
  • FIAT 500X available with five- and six-speed manual gearboxes, as well as advanced six-speed twin-clutch and nine-speed automatic transmissions
  • Three drivetrain options: front-wheel drive; “Traction Plus”-equipped front-wheel drive or advanced all-wheel drive with fuel-saving rear axle disconnect
  • On sale in the UK in the second quarter of 2015
Introducing the new FIAT 500X, the latest addition to the FIAT 500 family! Making its world début at the Paris Motor Show, the new FIAT 500X is a crossover not only in terms of vehicle segments, but also in terms of its potential customers. With two versions on offer, there is a 500X to suit every need and taste: one is designed to appeal to those with a fun-loving, spirited, metropolitan outlook while another, more rugged version has been designed with stylish, active adventures in mind. A choice of 12 different body colours and eight different designs for the 16-, 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels, will help every owner personalise the look of their FIAT 500X.
In keeping with its philosophy of appealing to every spectrum of customer, the FIAT 500X is available with a broad range of engines and transmissions, including a new nine-speed automatic transmission – a first for a FIAT vehicle! This new, electronically-controlled, nine-speed automatic transmission features "shift-on-the-fly" mapping with the possibility of switching to manual-sequential mode, while the four-wheel drive system it drives adopts a fuel-saving rear axle disconnection system that seamlessly switches between two- and four-wheel drive for full-time torque management without requiring input from the driver. The result is a highly efficient drivetrain that offers excellent pick-up and smooth delivery of power, with sure-footed and dependable handling in all conditions.

Equipped with a MacPherson rear suspension, the FIAT 500X has been engineered to strike the optimal balance of handling and comfort that the segment demands, while the latest active safety systems are available to assist the driver, including front headlights with DRLs; front fog lights with adaptive cornering; sophisticated ESC (Electronic Stability Control); Lane Assist (lane departure warning system) and Blind Spot Assist (lane change assistance system). A ParkView reversing camera is also available in the new 500X, as is the "Brake Control" assisted braking system.
Even the driving experience can be personalised and adapted, depending on how the new FIAT 500X is being driven and the prevailing driving conditions. The "Drive Mood Selector" has three different modes for engine, brakes, steering and gearbox/transmission settings: “Auto” offers the best compromise in terms of comfort, consumption and CO2 emissions while “Sport” reconfigures the FIAT 500X for better performance and more spirited handling. “All Weather” adjusts the vehicle settings for maximum safety even in low grip conditions.
On the more rugged version of the FIAT 500X, “All Weather” mode is replaced by the “Traction” function, which speeds up the transmission of torque to the rear axle on four-wheel drive versions or activates the “Traction Plus” control system on front wheel drive versions, the latter offering an ideal solution to drivers who only encounter extreme low-traction situations occasionally, thereby avoiding the additional costs and slight emissions increase associated with a conventional four-wheel drive system. The FIAT 500X also offers eco:Drive™, which can help reduce emissions and fuel costs by up to 16 percent, in addition to the my:Car™ service (UK availability TBC) which helps with maintenance and dealing with emergencies using an interactive user manual.
The engine range of the new FIAT 500X in EMEA countries comprises four petrol engines and three diesels: Front-wheel drive, petrol-powered models are either equipped with a 110hp, 1.6-litre “E-torQ” engine with a five-speed manual gearbox or a 140hp, 1.4-litre Turbo MultiAir II petrol engine with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed twin-clutch transmission. All-wheel drive petrol models, which are equipped with a nine-speed automatic transmission as standard, are powered either by a 170hp, 1.4-litre Turbo MultiAir II engine or the 184hp, 2.4-litre Tigershark engine.
The front-wheel drive diesel range consists of the 95hp, 1.3-litre MultiJet II turbo diesel, equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox and the 120hp1.6-litre MultiJet II turbo diesel equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox. The four-wheel drive diesel option is the 140hp, 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbo diesel, which will be available with a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic transmission. All engine and transmission versions will be offered in the UK, with the exception of the 2.4-litre Tigershark unit.
Designed in the Centro Stile FIAT, the new 500X is compact on the outside – measuring 4.25 metres in length (the more adventurous FIAT 500X is 2cm longer), 1.80 metres in width and 1.60 metres in height (1.61 with roof bars, 1.62 with 4WD) – while spacious and inviting on the inside, with extensive use of high-grade materials, top-quality finishes and practical storage compartments – including a spacious 350 litre luggage compartment.  The seats adjust to offer a high degree of flexibility and seven different interior fabric, leather and colour configurations are available, depending on the model and exterior colour.
The FIAT 500X also stands out compared to its competitors thanks to its sophisticated 5.0- or 6.5-inch Uconnect™ colour touchscreen infotainment systems. Both systems feature Bluetooth, aux-in and USB connectivity and can be operated via steering wheel remote controls and voice commands. The five-inch Uconnect™ unit is available with TomTom 2.5D navigation while the 6.5-inch system features satellite navigation with 3D maps, progressive route guidance and ‘One Shot Voice Destination Entry’ to enter addresses with voice commands. DAB and a Beats Hi-Fi system, developed in collaboration with Beats by Dr. Dre, are also available.
A new Uconnect™ Live system (UK availability TBC) also allows customers – through integration with their smartphones – to use many apps on the on-board system so that they can always be in contact with their friends on Facebook and Twitter; listen to millions of music tracks on Deezer and more than 100,000 radio stations with TuneIn; get real-time news updates from Reuters and get the latest traffic, safety camera and weather information from the TomTom Live service.
Built in the updated SATA plant in Melfi, Italy and sold in more than 100 countries worldwide including the United States, the new FIAT 500X will go on sale in the UK in the second quarter of 2015. Final specifications and pricing will be announced closer to the launch of the FIAT 500X in the UK.

Alfa and Marshall Amps collaborate on new MiTo One off.

  • Alfa Romeo & Marshall Amplification collaborate on one-off Alfa MiTo By Marshall concept car
  • Concept is fitted with a bespoke Marshall JVM 50 Watt amp head running two 12-inch 75 Watt speakers, custom built into the boot
  • Concept draws inspiration from the style of Marshall’s iconic amplifier range as well as integrating real Marshall amp materials
Alfa Romeo has collaborated with legendary music brand Marshall Amplification, one of the most recognisable names in guitar amps for more than 50 years, to create a one-off Alfa MiTo By Marshall concept car.
The unique Alfa MiTo By Marshall draws inspiration from the look and feel of Marshall’s iconic amplifier equipment and even features a powerful, custom-fitted Marshall JVM 50w amp head running two 12 inch 75w speakers installed in the boot space. The amplifier and speaker array is powered by a dedicated battery system. Guitar heroes simply need to open the boot, plug in a guitar and crank up the power.
The model will be given its public debut at a special invitation-only screening of Dave Grohl’s Sound City documentary at Olympic Studios on 24 June featuring a live performance by Tim Burgess and Mark Collins of The Charlatans. It will then be exhibited at a series of automotive and music events through the rest of 2014.

Externally, the Alfa MiTo By Marshall features the iconic gold panel finish of Marshall’s equipment on the grille, front and rear headlight surrounds, door mirror covers, door handles, side door trim and lower bumper trim.
Marshall badges on each rear pillar, Jim Marshall OBE’s signature above the side indicators and a #LIVEFORMUSIC graphic – Marshall’s strapline – on the rear windscreen, complete the car’s visual identity.
Inside, the Marshall styling continues with Marshall tread plates on the door sills, Marshall’s distinctive white piping around the dashboard’s centre console and the iconic gold panel finish on the Alfa D.N.A. Selector surround, as well as switch-gear for the air-conditioning and climate control.
A further nod to the heritage of music production, the gear knob has been replaced by a classic Shure SH55 microphone, with the gear layout engraved into the top of the head.
Both front and rear seats have been specially upholstered with the same materials used on Marshall’s amplifiers, including grille cloth on the seat centres and white piping around the inner seat contours. Close-matching leather on the seat sides and backs echoes the full grain texture of Marshall’s signature cabs. Marshall logos are also placed central to each front seat. A set of co-branded Alfa MiTo and Marshall floor mats complete the interior finish.
The British-built, all-valve 50 Watt JVM205H installed in the Alfa MiTo By Marshall delivers a straightforward two channel preamp: clean/crunch and overdrive. The two independent channels both have three modes, each mode reconfiguring the gain structure of each channel, making six modes in total. This means the JVM205H is tonally very versatile.
Equipped with ground-breaking technology, the JVM205H features two studio quality digital reverbs (one per channel), with individual channel EQ, two master volumes, and Stompware® foot switchable memory that will recall reverb, FX loop and master settings.
The Alfa MiTo By Marshall concept is based on the Alfa MiTo Distinctive MY’14 version and powered by the punchy 1.6 JTDM-2 120bhp engine. Alfa Romeo touches include 18 inch alloy wheels, red brake calipers, aluminium sports pedals and chrome exhaust pipes. The Uconnect™ 5 inch colour touch screen infotainment system also features Bluetooth® and voice recognition with USB and Aux-in inputs for listening to music on the move.
Ivan Gibson, Head of brand for Alfa Romeo, said, “The Alfa MiTo By Marshall is the realisation of a fantastic project between two iconic brands from the worlds of automotive and music.  We’re very excited by the way this collaboration has come together with the opportunity to work side by side with one of the most recognisable and respected music brands in the world.
“Genuine passion for what we do is a driving force shared by both Alfa Romeo and Marshall Amplification and whilst this concept is an exciting exploration of ideas and themes at this stage, we hope it might influence a future special edition.”
Jon Ellery, Managing Director at Marshall Amplification added, “Working with an automotive brand such as Alfa Romeo was a real first for Marshall Amplification – a completely new kind of partnership and a unique challenge from a technical point of view. However, when you see how the Alfa MiTo By Marshall looks and hear that big sound from the boot-mounted system, it just makes you smile. This is a really special one-off that will drive the Marshall sound to new places.”

A global Jeep design for a rapidly growing global brand
From the start, Jeep designers knew the Renegade would need to deliver best-in-class off-road capability with city-sized proportions that exuded the brand’s rugged style while at the same time enhancing versatility, maneuverability and style. Additionally, designers were tasked to create an all-new SUV that would symbolize the Jeep brand’s renowned American design and ingenuity, as it would mark the brand’s first entry into the small SUV segment in more than 100 markets around the globe. Last, Renegade had to offer the open-air freedom that dates back to its 1941 roots, with the Willys MB Jeep.

The result is the all-new 2015 Renegade, a vehicle that builds on the Jeep Wrangler’s powerful stance, and features fresh new styling with rugged body forms and aggressive proportions, which enable best-in-class approach and departure angles purposely designed to deliver best-in-class off-road capability. And for segment-exclusive panoramic views, two available “My Sky” open-air roof panel systems conveniently stow to provide passengers open-air freedom with ease.

All-new interior exudes a rugged and energetic appearance
The all-new Jeep Renegade interior features a rugged and energetic appearance that builds upon Jeep’s legendary brand heritage. This small SUV’s precisely crafted detail, innovative and high-quality color and material appointments, state-of-the-art technology, and clever storage draw inspiration from contemporary extreme sports gear and lifestyles.

The interior of the all-new 2015 Jeep Renegade has a distinctive form language, which Jeep designers have titled “Tek-Tonic.” This new design theme is defined by the intersections of soft and tactile forms with rugged and functional details. Major surfaces, such as the sculpted soft-touch instrument panel, are intersected with bold functional elements like the passenger grab handle – indispensable for off-road adventures and borrowed from its big brother, the legendary Jeep Wrangler. Unique “protective clamp fasteners,” anodized design accents and inspired colors are derived from extreme sports equipment, while the newly familiar “X” shapes inspired by its roof and tail lamps add to Renegade’s Tek-Tonic interior look. And to make sure all of the needed passenger gear fits, the Renegade is designed with an efficient and flexible interior package that includes a fold-forward front-passenger seat and class-exclusive removable, reversible and height-adjustable cargo floor panel.

Class-exclusive “My Sky” roof systems: continuing Jeep brand’s open-air freedom since 1941
Expanding the brand’s open-air freedom that originated with the legendary 1941 Willys MB Jeep, the all-new 2015 Renegade offers two class-exclusive “My Sky” open-air roof systems. With a manual removable, or premium power tilt/slide with removable feature, the innovative “My Sky” roof-panel systems quickly bring the outdoors inside. Designed for convenience, the honeycomb fiberglass polyurethane roof panels are lightweight and stow neatly in the rear cargo area. For added design detail, both “My Sky” roof systems feature a debossed “X” stamped into the roof that exude strength and play on the brand’s utilitarian history.

Best-in-class off-road capability with world-class on-road driving dynamics
Designed and engineered to first and foremost deliver legendary Jeep 4x4 capability, the all-new 2015 Renegade is the first vehicle from Chrysler Group to use the all-new “small-wide 4x4 architecture.”

With its fully independent suspension, capable of up to 8.1 inches (205 mm) of wheel articulation and 8.7 inches (220 mm) of ground clearance (Trailhawk model), Renegade raises the bar in the small SUV segment with best-in-class off-road capability. Extensive use of advanced steels, composites and advanced computer-impact simulations enable the all-new 2015 Renegade’s architecture to deliver world-class torsional stiffness and the Jeep brand’s durability required for Trail Rated adventures.

The all-new Renegade is the first Jeep SUV to integrate Koni’s frequency selective damping (FSD) front and rear strut system. This damping system enables the Jeep Renegade to deliver world-class road-holding and handling characteristics.

World’s first small SUV with nine-speed automatic transmission
Like the new Jeep Cherokee, the all-new 2015 Jeep Renegade has raised the bar — this time in the small SUV class — with the first available nine-speed automatic transmission. When paired with the 2.4-liter Tigershark engine with MultiAir2 (4x2 or 4x4), the nine-speed transmission delivers numerous benefits customers will appreciate, including aggressive launches, smooth power delivery at highway speeds and improved fuel efficiency versus competitive six-speed automatic transmissions.

More than 30 mpg highway
True to the Jeep brand, the all-new Renegade will offer customers a best-in-class combination of fuel efficiency and off-road capability, including two MultiAir four-cylinder engines that provide more than 30 miles per gallon (mpg) on the highway:

  • 2.4-liter Tigershark engine with MultiAir2
Efficiency and refinement also are hallmarks of Chrysler Group’s 16-valve, 2.4-liter Tigershark I-4 engine with the MultiAir2 electro-hydraulic fully variable valve-lift system. The high-tech engine produces 184 horsepower, 177 lb.-ft. of torque and is paired exclusively to the segment’s first nine-speed automatic transmission on 4x2 and 4x4 models. The 2.4-liter engine’s MultiAir technology uses a column of oil in place of the traditional mechanical link between the camshaft and intake valves to maximize intake manifold pressure and significantly reduce pumping losses. MultiAir2 takes the innovation further by simultaneously controlling both valve opening and closing events to more effectively manage combustion quality and compression ratio, all to improve fuel economy and performance.

  • 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo engine
The 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo four-cylinder engine offers 160 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque to provide a spirited driving experience on Jeep Renegade Sport and Latitude 4x2 and 4x4 models. Paired with a six-speed manual transmission, the 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo engine transmits its power through high-strength components throughout the drivetrain, including equal-length half shafts and a 4.438 final-drive ratio. Boost pressure is dynamically managed to provide a broad torque curve over a wide variety of ambient conditions, with a peak pressure of 22 psi at 4,000 rpm. Innovative MultiAir valve-actuation technology controls intake air cylinder-by-cylinder and stroke-by-stroke, reducing carbon-dioxide emissions and boosting fuel-economy up to 7.5 percent, compared with an engine with conventional valvetrain.
An Eco Mode is also available on the all-new Jeep Renegade, for fuel-efficient drivers.

Segment-exclusive technologies once found only on premium SUVs
The all-new 2015 Jeep Renegade offers technology features once found only in upper-segment vehicles, and makes them attainable to customers in the growing small SUV segment – including award-winning Uconnect Access (late availability), Uconnect touchscreens and the segment’s largest full-color instrument cluster.
  • Uconnect Access: Utilizes embedded cellular technology to allow Jeep Renegade occupants to get directly in contact with local emergency-service dispatchers – all with the push of the 9-1-1 ASSIST button on the rearview mirror. Uconnect Access applies the same logic to roadside assistance. One push of the “ASSIST” button summons help directly from Chrysler Group’s roadside assistance provider, or the Vehicle Customer Care Center. Further peace of mind comes from the system’s ability to receive text messages, announce receipt of texts, identify senders and then “read” the messages aloud with Bluetooth-equipped cell phones. Drivers can even use a “voice texting” feature that keeps their hands on the wheel and attention on the road.
  • Uconnect touchscreen radio systems: Award-winning in-vehicle handsfree communication, entertainment and available navigation. Key features available on the Uconnect 5.0 and 6.5AN systems include a 5.0-inch or 6.5-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, single or dual-turner, radio data system capability (RDS), digital audio broadcast (DAB), HD Radio, digital media broadcasting (DMB), SiriusXM Radio, SiriusXM Traffic, SiriusXM Travel Link, USB port and auxiliary audio jack input.
  • Segment’s largest full-color instrument cluster display: Filling the Jeep Renegade’s gauge cluster in front of the driver is an available 7-inch, full-color, premium multiview display, featuring a reconfigurable function that enables drivers to personalize information inside the instrument cluster. The information display is designed to visually communicate information, using graphics and text, quickly and easily.

Renegade features up to 70 advanced safety and security features
Safety and security were at the forefront in the development of the all-new 2015 Jeep Renegade, setting the stage for up to 70 available safety and security features, including the segment’s first availability of Forward Collision Warning-Plus and LaneSense Departure Warning-Plus.
In addition, engineers added both active and passive safety and security features, including Blind-spot Monitoring; Rear Cross Path detection; ParkView rear backup camera with dynamic grid lines; electronic stability control (ESC) with electronic roll mitigation and seven standard air bags.

Jeep brand’s global resources
Designed in America and crafted in Italy, the 2015 Renegade continues the Jeep brand’s dedication to the global marketplace and demonstrates the depths of its available resources. The final assembly location for the Renegade will be at the Melfi Assembly Plant.
