IRELAND - MiTo from Alfa Romeo gets updated and launched, its now the car it should have been all along.

  • Alfa Romeo Mito is revised for 2016 with a new look, more technology and a completely revised range of trim levels
  • Styling changes include new sports grilles, new alloy wheel designs, enhanced detailing, new upholsteries and improved technologies

The new Alfa Romeo Mito has gone on sale in Ireland priced from €18,295 RRP. Revised for 2016 with a new look to emulate the style and attitude of the all-new Alfa Romeo Giulia, with more technology, a revised range and the introduction of the updated 1.3-litre JTDM-2 turbo diesel with  increased 95hp output and reduced CO2 emissions (just 89g/km), the new Alfa Romeo Mito is more enticing and competitive than ever before.
To give the Mito the new Alfa Romeo family feel the styling has been revised with new sports grilles, dark-finish headlamp bezels, revised rear bumper designs and new alloy wheels, as well as new Alfa White paint option.

Inside, all models get new upgraded seat upholsteries, Uconnect Live services and a new finish on the centre console, dashboard and door trims. 
Naturally, the new Alfa Romeo logo features inside and out, while the Mito badge adopts the same script as that of the new Giulia.
The entry-point trim level known simply as Alfa Romeo Mito comes with generous standard equipment including new 16-inch alloy wheels, satin chrome-effect exterior detailing (door handles, grille surrounds, headlamp and tail lamp surrounds), air conditioning, Alfa DNA driving mode selector, a rear spoiler and a Uconnect 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity.
Engine choices include the 78hp 1.4-litre petrol (€18,295 RRP), 875cc Turbo Petrol TwinAir 105hp (€19,795 RRP) and the 1.3 JTDM-2 95hp (€20,545 RRP)) and key options include the Visibility Pack (auto headlamps and wipers, and electro-chromic rear-view mirror - €250); Comfort Pack (front centre armrest, rear parking sensors and front seat lumbar adjustment - €500); dual-zone climate control (€600); electric sunroof (€1,100); satellite navigation (€900) and an eight-speaker BOSE audio system (€600).
The mid trim is the new Alfa Romeo Mito Super which builds on the standard Mito’s specification by adding cruise control: 17-inch 'Turbine' alloy wheels; Alfa code immobiliser and alarm; front fog lamps; special upholstery with Eco-Leather side bolstering; aluminium sports pedals, footrest and kickplates; chrome effect window sills; space-saver spare wheel and the Comfort Pack as standard. 
Options available on the Super, in addition to those available on the Mito, include sports leather upholstery (€1,250) and an 18-inch alloy wheel upgrade (€600). 
The engines offered in Super specification include the 875cc Turbo Petrol TwinAir 105hp (€21,095 RRP) and the 1.3 JTDM-2 95hp (€21,845 RRP) and the 1.4 MultiAir 140hp petrol with ALFA TCT transmission and steering wheel-mounted gearshift paddles (€23,725 RRP).
The new Alfa Romeo Mito Super Sport, available for just €171 more than the Super trim, offers enhanced specification and even sportier looks available with the 875cc TwinAir 105hp turbo petrol (€21,266 RRP); the 1.3 JTDM-2 95hp diesel engine (€22,016 RRP) or the 1.4 MultiAir 140hp petrol with ALFA TCT transmission (€23,896 RRP).  In addition to the equipment on the Super, the Super Sport adds sports leather upholstery (available in three colour options) with heated front seats; dual-zone air conditioning; 60/40 split folding rear seats; rear privacy glass and red brake callipers. 
Available options include an 18-inch alloy wheel upgrade (€600); Visibility Pack (auto headlamps and wipers, electro-chromic rear-view mirror - €250); electric sunroof (€1,100); satellite navigation (€900) and an eight-speaker BOSE audio system (€600).

Alfa Romeo launches the updated MiTo, with new trim levels, colours and options, this is a great car to drive.

The new Alfa Romeo Mito has gone on sale in the UK priced from £12,960 OTR. Revised for 2016 with a new look to emulate the style and attitude of the all-new Alfa Romeo Giulia, with more technology, a revised range and the introduction of the updated 1.3-litre JTDM-2 turbo diesel with increased 95hp output and reduced CO2emissions (just 89g/km), the new Alfa Romeo Mito is more enticing and competitive than ever before.

  • Comfort Pack (front centre armrest, floor mats, rear parking sensors and front seat lumbar adjustment - £310); 
  • Sport Pack (tinted windows, front fog lamps, sports instrument cluster and red brake callipers - £300);

Replacing the “Distinctive” trim level is the new Alfa Romeo Mito Super which builds on the standard Mito’s specification by adding cruise control; 17-inch 'Turbine' alloy wheels; Alfa code immobiliser and alarm; front fog lamps; special upholstery with Eco-Leather side bolstering; aluminium sports pedals, footrest and kickplates; chrome effect window sills; satin-effect door handles; space-saver spare wheel and the Comfort Pack as standard. 
Options available on the Super, in addition to those available on the Mito, include the Lusso Pack (leather upholstery with heated front seats, dual-zone climate control and a third rear seat with head restraint and seat belt - £1,750) and an 18-inch alloy wheel upgrade (£400). 
The engines offered in Super specification include the 875cc Turbo Petrol TwinAir 105hp (£16,360 OTR) and the 1.3 JTDM-2 95hp (£16,960 OTR) and the 1.4 MultiAir 140hp petrol with ALFA TCT transmission and steering wheel-mounted gearshift paddles (£18,160 OTR).
In place of the QV Line, the new Alfa Romeo Mito Speciale offers the looks and specification of the new Veloce flagship (which, in turn, replaces the Quadrifoglio Verde) but is available with the 875cc TwinAir 105hp turbo petrol (£17,110 OTR); the 1.3 JTDM-2 95hp diesel engine (£17,710 OTR) or the 1.4 MultiAir 140hp petrol with ALFA TCT transmission (£18,910 OTR) to make it more accessible and more affordable to own. 
In addition to the equipment on the Super, the Speciale adds 17-inch darkened five-hole alloy wheels; a flat-bottom steering wheel; red stitching on the steering wheel, gear shifter and handbrake; steering wheel-mounted gearshift paddles on the Alfa TCT version; darkened headlining; sports instruments; sports seats in fabric and Alcantara; dark-gloss finish on the door mirror surrounds and door handles; carbon fibre-effect finish on the headlamp surrounds; sports rear bumper; rear privacy glass and red brake callipers. 
Available options include leather upholstery (£1,000); Visibility Pack (auto headlamps and wipers, electro-chromic rear-view mirror and folding door mirrors - £310); dual-zone climate control (£450); electric sunroof (£750); satellite navigation (£750) and an eight-speaker BOSE audio system (£675).
The new range-topper, the Alfa Romeo Mito Veloce, is available from £20,500 OTR and is powered by the most powerful engine in the range, the 1.4 MultiAir 170hp petrol with ALFA TCT transmission (with steering wheel-mounted gearshift paddles) making it capable of reaching 62mph in just 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 136mph. 
Standard equipment includes 18-inch, darkened five-hole alloy wheels; Alfa Active Suspension system; Brembo brakes with four-piston front brake callipers (finished in red); upgraded Uconnect 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, DAB and Bluetooth connectivity and twin chromes exhaust tail pipes. 
The range of options available on the Alfa Romeo Mito Veloce includes the Visibility Pack (£310); dual-zone climate control (£450); electric sunroof (£750); eight-speaker BOSE audio system (£675) and Sabelt Alcantara Sports seats with carbon fibre shells (£2,000).

Dacia launches new Special Edition Sandero, the 'Midnight', comes with a host of extra kit.

Dacia has introduced a new special edition to its Sandero family car line-up - the Sandero Midnight. Sandero Midnight builds on the existing top-of-the-range Lauréate version specification by adding a host of exclusive extras designed to give a classy yet discreet look and is available to order now priced from just £9,345.
On the exterior, Sandero Midnight comes with 15-inch 'Aquila' alloy wheels, an exclusive Slate Grey metallic paint finish and a gloss black exterior trim on the door mirrors and B-pillar.

Inside, the Midnight continues the dark theme with gloss black trim on the door handles, central console surround and steering wheel whilst the 'Comfort Pack' adds electric rear windows and a leather steering wheel to the equipment list.
These enhancements are in addition to the extensive standard equipment from the Lauréate trim level, so Sandero Midnight also comes with air conditioning, electric front windows, cruise control, speed limiter, a trip computer, Bluetooth connectivity, a four-speaker radio/CD player and ESC with Traction Control as standard.
For those who wish to add further comfort to their Sandero, rear parking sensors, 'Dark carbon' leather upholstery and the MediaNav 7-inch touchscreen multimedia and sat-nav system are amongst the available options.
Sandero Midnight is available as either a petrol or diesel engine version. The 0.9-litre TCe 90 petrol engine achieves 0-60mph in 11.1 seconds, has a top speed of 109mph and returns 56.5mpg (on the official combined cycle). The 1.5-litre dCi 90 diesel engine achieves 0-60mph in 12.1 seconds, has a top speed of 107mph, CO2emissions of 99g/km (meaning it is in Band A for road fund licence) and returns 74.3mpg (combined).
As with every new Dacia, Sandero Midnight is covered by a three year / 60,000 miles warranty as standard, which includes roadside assistance. Servicing is once every 12 months or 12,000 miles and extended warranty packages of up to seven years are also available.
