Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is offering two complimentary services to customers who place orders on a new Crafter before 2 July and register it by 30 September 2017. 

Available on all 2017 Crafter models, whether acquired through hire purchase, lease purchase, contract hire or finance lease^, the offer has been launched to help customers to minimise vehicle costly downtime and maximise value. 

Designed to give Crafter customers an extra helping hand in the initial ownership period of their new vehicle, the added value offer includes both an interim and full service. 

The offer not only frees the new owners from routine servicing bills for the first part of the vehicle’s life, but also guarantees all work is carried out by a qualified Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles technician. 

The latest offer forms part of a wider portfolio of services available to businesses in helping with the scheduling and management of servicing and routine maintenance. Schemes such as Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle Financial Service’s Driveline, which is designed to benefit customers purchasing their fleet via contract hire or finance lease, offers a dedicated 24-hour phone line, available 365 days a year to provide instant help when you need it, whether for booking services, ordering new tyres, glass repairs or breakdown and recovery services. 

James Douglas, Head of Sales Operations at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said: “We believe this is a great offer for customers and a great way to introduce new Crafter to the market. It’s not only a good deal but also demonstrates, in concrete terms, our desire to work with them, in partnership, and add value to their vehicle operation.” 

Customers wishing to extend their servicing agreement can go on to buy services 3 and 4 for £349, which offers additional interim and a full service, plus an MOT* (mileage and restrictions apply). 

Mercedes-Benz launches special Limited Edition Sprinter van to celebrate its 20th anniversary

Mercedes-Benz Vans has launched a limited edition Sprinter for Retail customers to celebrate the 20^thanniversary of the mighty vehicle, priced at £259* per month with a £2,800 deposit contribution.

The unique Sprinter 20^th Anniversary edition will be available across a maximum of 1,200 vans, with special ‘Sprinter 20’ badging on the front wing and a unique option bundle added including: air conditioning, sat nav, a Driver’s Comfort seat with arm rest, wheel trims, and a chrome grille, worth over £2,000, for just £750.

Sprinter launched in 1995 and is a firm favourite in the large van sector, winning more than 70 UK-specific awards since it arrived in the UK.

From the day it launched in April 1995 until the end of June 2015, 327,201 Sprinter vans have sold in the UK, of which 69,457 were for the Sprinter 313 CDI MWB, across a wide range of customers.

These range from home delivery, such as Ocado, Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s and Iceland, to DPD, Yodel, DHL, and Parcelforce, as well as construction and plant companies, like HSS Hire and A-Plant, utilities businesses, including Cappagh and EEG, 100% of ambulance trusts across the country, ice-cream vans, and even a mobile deluxe beauty treatment room.

More than 250,000 of the Sprinter models sold have been panel vans, with 71,769 chassis cab variants. The Sprinter factory capacity in Düsseldorf is 745 units a day, equating to 214,560 produced vehicles a year.

In the first month of sales (April 1995), there were 56 Sprinter models sold. The top sales month since has been September 2013, with 4,217 sold, although this record is expected to be broken in September 2015.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the most popular colour choice for Sprinter is white, with 199,794 vehicles sold since launch, followed by silver, with 14,313 vehicles in this colour.

The most miles on a Sprinter currently on the UK roads, and serviced via a Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle Dealer, is 995,242 miles for a van registered in January 1999. A second Sprinter, with 964,436 miles on the clock, has run that up since November 2005.

Steve Bridge, Managing Director, Mercedes-Benz Vans, added: “Mercedes-Benz has been making Vans since 1896 and has pioneered new standards in safety every step of the way, with Sprinter leading from the front.

“From introducing ESP in 1995, offering the driver airbag as standard in 2000, launching Crosswind Assist in 2013, and most recently becoming the first manufacturer in the world to equip all new vans as standard with Rescue Assist QR code stickers, we have never sat still.”

For those Sprinter vehicles still on the road 20 years on, there is still another 10 years of free MobiloVan cover available, provided the last service was carried out by an authorised Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle Dealer.

Every Mercedes-Benz Vans vehicle purchase comes with free 30-year cover across the UK and Europe, with an average response time of less than an hour, with more than 80% of vehicles fixed at the roadside.

MobiloVan will send out a roadside assistance van in the event of a breakdown, which is well-stocked with GenuineParts and manned by a Mercedes-Benz trained Technician, at no cost to the customer.

• minor non-warranty roadside repairs up to £130 including VAT, 
• recovery to the nearest Mercedes-Benz workshop if roadside repairs are not possible, 
• public transport costs to aid onward travel up to £55, 
• vehicle return within 30 miles of the repairing Dealer, 
• replacement vehicle for up to three working days, air or rail travel for onward journey up to £340 per person for driver and passengers, 
• and overnight accommodation including breakfast for up to three working days for driver and passengers too.

MERCEDES BENZ - SPRINTER

Mercedes announces pricing and specs for all new Versatile Vito.

With three lengths, three weight variants, and two turbodiesel engines in five power ratings, the New Vito offers a broad range, starting from £17,855 (ex VAT) for the 109 CDI panel van Compact.

In addition to the panel van, the Vito crew van combines the advantages of a panel van with those of a crewbus. For more focus on passenger carrying, the new Tourer is available in two versions – Vito Tourer PRO and Vito Tourer SELECT, which come with eight seats (including driver) as standard and the potential to optionally specify nine seats in total.

The New Vito launches in the UK on 14 April 2015 at the CV Show.

Payload

For the first time in this segment, there is the choice between front- and rear-wheel drive.

In conjunction with the 1.6 litre four-cylinder engine, the front-wheel drive panel van’s kerb weight for the compact length with standard equipment is just 1,845 kg. At the standard gvw of 2.8 t, the front-wheel drive New Vito achieves a very impressive payload of 955 kg.

However, the payload champion is the rear-wheel drive Vito with its four-cylinder, 2.1-litre engine and a gvw of 3.2 t, offering a maximum payload capacity of 1,255 kg.

Economy

BlueEFFICIENCY package is fitted to all rear-wheel drive models, which can help to achieve up to 47.1 mpg (combined) in the 119 BlueTEC. Enhancements include alternator management, with the battery charging during coasting or deceleration; improved underbody aerodynamics; and ECO start/stop function.

Six-speed manual transmission is standard, with a 7G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission with torque converter optional for the 114 BlueTEC and 116 BlueTEC, and standard on the 119 BlueTEC. The New Vito offers the world’s only automatic transmission with torque converter and seven gears.

Emissions

Euro 5 technology features in the 1.6 litre engine in the two front-wheel drive van and crew van variants, and Euro 6 BlueTEC features on all 2.1 litre rear-wheel drive variants and all Tourer models. The Euro 6 engines use the established Mercedes-Benz BlueTEC system utilising AdBlue to meet the strict emissions requirements due to become law in 2016 for vans.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes: Adaptive ESP^®, Adaptive Brake Lights, Attention Assist, Crosswind Assist, driver and co-driver airbags, Hill-Start Assist, reflection-style headlights with daytime running lights, Rescue Assist QR codes, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. Thorax and window airbags are standard for the Vito Tourer PRO and SELECT, and optional on the panel and crew van.

Interior

Standard features inside include: Cruise Control with Speedtronic variable Speed Limiter, multifunction steering wheel with trip computer, and Audio 15. This system comes with a high-resolution 5.8-inch TFT display, and includes Bluetooth^® hands-free system and audio streaming, USB and aux-in port, iPod^®interface, and SD memory card slot.

Exterior

Rear twin doors are standard for the van models, which can be opened back to the 180° position or locked in place at an angle of 90°. A tailgate is standard on the crew van and Tourer models, as well as being a no-cost option for panel van models.

Easy access is also achieved to the loadspace via side sliding doors, fitted to both sides of the vehicle as standard, with a wide entry. In addition, a full-height bulkhead is fitted to panel vans as standard.

Colours and upholstery

Five solid colours are available as standard – Arctic White, Jupiter Red, Pebble Grey, Navy Blue and Granite Green, with a further choice of seven optional metallic colours.

Interior trim is in the hard-wearing black tunja fabric as standard, with black leatherette as an option.

Service & Parts

Flexible Service Care plans for the New Vito remain at the current Vito pricing. For example, three services are available for just £8.83 over 36 months at any of the Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle Dealers, situated across 110 service points throughout the length and breadth of the UK.

On average, Dealer workshops are open up to 100 hours a week (including Saturdays), with over a third of these being open 24 hours a day throughout the working week, and over 90% operating at least two shifts daily.

When out on the road, Service24h is a free call-out service across the UK and Europe which comes as part of the 30 year free roadside assistance cover with every new Mercedes-Benz Vans vehicle purchase, including the New Vito. Across the 150 Service24h roadside recovery vehicles covering the UK, there is an average response time of 58 minutes, with 83% of vehicles fixed at the roadside.
