Ducati took five awards at the annual 'Motorrad des Jahres' (Motorcycle of the Year) event in Stuttgart, Germany on Monday evening, when highly respected magazine, Motorrad, presented their annual awards at Stuttgart's Residenztheater. Decided by the magazine's voting readers, the awards underline the increasing strength of the famous Italian brand in the German market.
Ducati Motor Holding CEO, Claudio Domenicali, was at the event to accept the awards. Ducati's versatile Multistrada lived up to it's 'four-bikes-in-one' character by being awarded 'Motorcycle of the Year' in the 'Allrounder' category, while the Diavel took 'Motorcycle of the Year' in the 'Cruiser' category, both very successful models for Ducati and benchmarks in innovative design and technology.
In the 'Sportbike' category Ducati's 1199 and 899 Panigale Superbikes collected 2nd and 3rd respectively and the Hypermotard took 3rd place in the 'Enduro/Supermoto' category, raising Ducati's awards total to five.
