Pictures of the third-generation Audi TT have leaked online ahead of its official unveiling at the Geneva motor show tomorrow.
These leaked images were posted on an automotive forum in the Netherlands, and reportedly show the new Audi TT-S. The pictures show the new car won't sport a radical new design, but rather an evolution of the current car's styling.
Based on VW Group's MQB platform, the car has a revised grille design with larger front air intakes, more angular headlights and a contoured clamshell bonnet. More heavily sculpted crease lines can also be seen.
The quadruple exhausts, rear diffuser and boot-mounte spoiler seen on these pictures could all be unique to TT-S versions. According to reports, power for the sportier TT will come from an upgraded 2.0-litre, four-cylinder TFSI engine with around 296bhp.
Other engines to be included in the new TT range are 177bhp 1.8-litre and 217bhp 2.0-litre versions of the four-cylinder turbocharged Audi-developed EA888 unit.
Technological advancements over the current are expected to be significant, and include making the car significantly lighter, the introduction of more economical and faster powertrains and much-improved interior technology.
In particular, its new-look driver-focused cabin has already been seen, and is notable for no longer featuring a separate infotainment display in the centre of the dashboard. Instead, all infotainment displays are now found on the all-digital instrument cluster, making room for more cabin space and also saving weight. The interior of this TT-S model sports black leather trim.
The new Audi TT is likely to launch towards the end of 2014. Aud has also released a short video and image previewing the new model.
