Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

New Special Edition Swift Super-mini comes packed with kit, and all for a price that's hard to turn down.

  • Special Edition SZ-L model based on mid-grade SZ3.
  • On sale from February 1st and priced at £10,999 for the three door model and £11,499 for the five door.
Following further strong success of the Swift model in 2015 with a 21 per cent increase in sales year on year, Suzuki has now added further customer appeal with the launch of the Special Edition SZ-L model, available as either three or five door with manual transmission.

The SZ-L is based on the popular SZ3 which is well equipped as standard with seven airbags, ESP, air conditioning, USB port, Bluetooth and LED daytime running lights and adds a unique exterior design with Gloss Black 16” Alloy wheels, rear upper spoiler and SZ-L badging.
Further standard equipment features for SZ-L include satellite navigation, DAB Radio, cruise control, Sport type steering wheel with silver stitching plus further silver stitching to the seats and gear lever boot.  SZ-L is available in seven colours including new Horizon Orange metallic which is available for the first time on Swift; metallic paint is a £430 option.
The Swift SZ-L offers value for money in terms of running costs and purchase price; the 1.2-litre Dual VVT 94PS engine is one of the most powerful in its class, but offers low emissions of just 116g/km CO2 costing £30 in annual VED after the first year and returns a frugal 56.5mpg on the official combined cycle. What Car? magazine recently achieved close to this figure in their ‘True MPG’ testing at 51.7mpg.
SZ-L is in insurance group 11E, the same low group as the rest of the Swift 1.2-litre range, making it the ideal purchase for younger Swift buyers who want to own a more striking, design led car at an affordable cost.
A range of flexible options from Suzuki Financial Services are on offer with a Nil deposit PCP (Personal Contract Purchase) available followed by 42 monthly payments of £165 for the three door SZ-L and just £10 more per month for the five door model.
Payments can be as low as £99 per month for the three door if a deposit of £2,772 is made. This is also over a 42 month period with a final payment required at the end of the term to keep the car.

Peugeot to debut a number of new cars at Goodwood's Moving Motor Show,

Peugeot will use this year’s Goodwood Moving Motor Show on Thursday, June 25, to host the global and European debuts of two brand new cars.

A new 308 performance model will make its world premiere at the show, as one of the main static features on the French marque’s Goodwood stand while the muscular, 500bhp 308 R HYbrid makes its European bow.

Visitors to the Moving Motor Show will be able to book drives up the famous Goodwood Hill Climb course in three of Peugeot’s newest and most exciting models – the 308 GT 205 THP Hatchback, 308 GT Line PureTech 1.2-litre and the nippy 208 ‘GTi by Peugeot Sport’.

While the 308 performance model will only be driving up the Hill during the main Festival of Speed’s ‘First Glance’ section, Moving Motor Show visitors will be the first in the world to clap eyes on the static cars on Peugeot’s stand.

Goodwood Festival of Speed and Moving Motor Show founder, Lord March, said: “Since we launched the Moving Motor Show in 2010, it has gone from strength to strength and the fact that major manufacturers like Peugeot are now using it to host global reveals is testament to how far the event has already come.

“The Moving Motor Show is all about giving our visitors the chance to see concepts and premieres ahead of anyone else and it will be marvellous to have the world debut of its new Peugeot 308 performance model here at Goodwood this month.”

Peugeot will also celebrate its outstanding sporting heritage at Goodwood this year, with cars on its stand including:
  • 205 T16, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Peugeot’s World Rally Championship Group B title
  • 208 WRX – Peugeot’s current FIA World Rallycross Championship challenger
  • 2008 DKR – the 2015 Dakar Rally car, featuring a 3-litre, 340bhp, V6 twin-turbo diesel
  • Sporty road cars such as the 208 ‘GTi by Peugeot Sport’, 308 GT and 308 GT Line Hatchback
The sixth annual Moving Motor Show is expected to attract record crowds, eclipsing last year’s 34,000 visitors. Over the years, the show has hosted tens of thousands of people, up to 500 different models of car, which have completed an estimated 6,000 miles of driving on the famous 1.16-mile hill course.

Twenty car manufacturers will exhibit at this year’s event on June 25 and Visitors to the Moving Motor Show also get an exclusive ‘sneak preview’ to the Festival of Speed, as well as access to the Formula 1 Paddock presented by Sky Sports F1, Cartier ‘Style et Luxe’ Concours d’Elegance, Michelin Supercar Paddock and all of the automotive show stands.

Peugeot's stylish City Car, the 108, extends customer choice, with better tech and more colours.

  • Active City Brake and Lane Departure Warning System now available on 108
  • New Euro6 engines introduced, including the 3 cylinder 1.2-litre PureTech engine
  • Eight body colours with the all new ‘French Blue’, plus six new two-tone paint options
  • Seven personalisation themes available, plus five choices of interior ambiences
The chic 108, already exceptional value for money in terms of technology, connectivity and features, is now available with Active City Brake and Lane Departure Warning System as an option on Allure and Feline badge levels.

Active City Brake alerts the driver to a possible collision when travelling at less than 20mph and, if necessary, operates the emergency brake to completely avoid shunt situations or reduce the severity of an accident in the event that the driver does not react in time.

Lane Departure Warning System, activated at 31mph, judges the position of the vehicle in relation to the lines on major roads, alerting the driver via sound and dashboard light should the lines be crossed.

New Euro6 compliant engines are also introduced as a direct replacement for previous engines at no increase in cost to the customer, bringing greater efficiency.  These include: the 1.0-litre 68hp with 95g/km of CO2, 1.0-litre 2-Tronic 68hp with 97g/km of CO2 and 1.2-litre PureTech 82hp with 99g/km of CO2.

Eight vibrant body colours offer a colourful choice, including the all new metallic ‘French Blue’ paint.

Customers are encouraged to design a car to fit their style, so personalisation choices are wide and varied and include five interior ambiences, seven personalisation themes and, in addition to the eight body colours available, six new two-tone body colours are now available on both 3 and 5 door models (previously only the 3-door).

Lower CO2 and better MPG on offer with the new Swift SZ4 4X4.

  • Swift SZ4 4X4 5 door with Dualjet technology now available at £14,199 offers CO2 emissions of just 111g/km, improved fuel economy and a lower VED Band.
  • Latest Headline PCP offers on 1.2-litre Swift two wheel drive models – Nil deposit / 0% APR.
Suzuki GB PLC announces some minor changes to the Swift and S-Cross ranges for the Spring as well as the introduction of a new Swift derivative; the SZ4 five door 4x4 with Dualjet engine.

This new model replaces the outgoing SZ4 4x4 and offers improved fuel economy, lower CO2 emissions and a lower VED band too, moving from Band D (£110) to Band C (£30), helping to lower cost of ownership by £80 per year.

The SZ4 Dualjet 4x4 has CO2 emissions of just 111g/km and an EC Combined fuel consumption figure of 58.8mpg, representing a 15g/km reduction and 7.5 mpg improvement versus the outgoing SZ4 4x4 model.

The 1.2-litre Dualjet engine (K12C) incorporates Suzuki’s latest technology that utilises twin fuel injectors for improved fuel economy.  Utilising Dualjet technology that positions the fuel injectors very close to the engine inlet valves allows for a finer fuel atomisation (or mixture) which in turn provides a more effective transfer into the engine.

Available until the end of March, Suzuki Financial Services is now offering zero per cent PCP deals on two-wheel drive derivatives of SZ3, SZ-L (Special Edition) and SZ4 Swift models. All PCP agreements are spread over 42 months with an APR of 0% and, as an example the SZ3 three-door is available for just £169 per month with zero deposit.

Swift is available in five clearly defined specification grades, SZ2, SZ3, SZ-L, SZ4 and Sport with 1.6-litre engine. All models offer seven airbags and ESP as standard, front passenger airbag deactivation facility, electric front windows, remote central door locking with deadlocks, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, MP3 / WMA compatible CD tuner with USB port and steering wheel mounted audio controls.

As part of the latest Swift range updates, all five door models now have electric rear windows as standard equipment and Amethyst Grey metallic has been discontinued due to lower demand. The highly acclaimed Sport model is now available in Galactic Grey metallic which replaces Silky Silver metallic and Bright Red has now been discontinued from the S-Cross range.

The spare wheel / tyre is now deleted from the Swift and S-Cross ranges and both include a temporary repair kit in line with Celerio and soon to be launched Vitara models. For customers that prefer, a spare wheel is offered as an accessory and will be available from the dealer network or online.
