Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

On its world tour, the Bugatti Chiron is now visiting South-East Asia. Following its debuts in Europe and North America, the world’s most powerful, fastest, most exclusive and most luxurious production super sports car was ceremonially unveiled in Singapore today.
Over the past few days, Bugatti and Wearnes Automotive, Bugatti’s dealer in South-East Asia, had presented the Chiron to customers at exclusive private appointments.
The French super sports car will also be on display this weekend at the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix. Singapore is Bugatti’s hub in South-East Asia.
“With the presentation of the Chiron here in Singapore, Bugatti is honouring the special importance of the South-East Asia region for the brand,” said Dr. Stefan Brungs, Member of the Board of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. for Sales, Marketing and Customer Service.

“Especially here in South-East Asia, there are a large number of super sports car collectors as well as Bugatti owners and brand ambassadors. Here, people show fantastic levels of appreciation and passion for groundbreaking performance and exclusive brilliance as well as enthusiasm for the Chiron. For us, it is a special pleasure to celebrate the premiere of the Chiron in South-East Asia with our highly esteemed customers and loyal fans who follow the Bugatti brand with such passion.”
“In Wearnes Automotive, we have a partner with the capabilities, the network and the passion we need to bring our business in South-Asia forward,” Brungs added. Wearnes Automotive has been the official dealer of Bugatti South-East Asia since 2006. The two partners recently agreed to continue this cooperation.
Pang Cheong Yan, Managing Director of the Prestige Division of Wearnes Automotive Pte Ltd, said: “Having officially renewed our dealership appointment with Bugatti, we are thrilled that the Bugatti Chiron has made its way to Singapore. It is truly the world’s most powerful, fastest, most luxurious and most exclusive production super sports car, and we are honoured to showcase the actual car for the very first time in Asia to an exclusive group of customers and guests here.”
For this special occasion, Bugatti and Wearnes Automotive have created a stylish and elegant Bugatti world in Singapore. In an ambience of Bugatti blue, not only the Chiron finds the perfect scenery. The presentation also focuses on exhibits and animations highlighting the extraordinary technical achievements and the elegant and aggressive design of the super sports car as well as the history of the brand.
This weekend, which will probably be the most eventful weekend in the Singapore calendar this year, the Chiron will be on show to fans and potential customers in the renowned Amber Lounge at the Singapore F1 Grand Prix. After that, the super sports car will be on display for a short time at the Bugatti Singapore showroom.

Bugatti has confirmed that the next Hyper car will be called the Chiron, after Louis Chiron a works driver in the 20's

  • Louis Chiron was the most successful Bugatti works driver and the best racing driver in the world in his time
  • Bugatti Chiron to make its world debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show
  • Bugatti Chiron will be the world’s most powerful, fastest, most luxurious and most exclusive production super sports car
  • Bugatti President Wolfgang Dürheimer: “With the Chiron, we will make the best significantly better.”
  • Exclusive pre-marketing of the Chiron produces outstanding feedback from customers – more than 100 orders already received
The next Bugatti is to be called Chiron. It will be named after Louis Chiron, a legendary racing driver who won virtually all the major grands prix for the brand in the 1920s and 1930s.
His name is more closely connected with the history of Bugatti than any other racing driver. The world premiere of the new super sports car from Molsheim in France is planned for the 86th Geneva Motor Show in 2016.
With the Chiron, Bugatti will continue to produce the world’s most powerful, fastest, most luxurious and most exclusive production super sports car. The Bugatti Chiron is currently being shown to selected customers and the feedback is outstanding; more than 100 orders have already been received.

“The development brief for the Chiron can be summarised in one sentence and is probably the shortest in the history of the automobile: we want to make the best significantly better,” says Wolfgang Dürheimer, President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. “The Chiron will set new standards in every respect. We will continue to produce the world’s most powerful, fastest, most luxurious and most exclusive production super sports car. This is the claim of Bugatti and our customers.”
“In Louis Chiron, we found a worthy patron for a new model in the history of our brand,” Dürheimer continues. “The name of the best racing driver and the most successful Bugatti driver of his time for the best super sports car of the present day – that is the ideal combination.”
Currently, the Chiron is undergoing final testing. A number of prototypes are on the road in several continents for the fine tuning of the vehicle – right down to the last detail under a variety of road and climate conditions. No other production super sports car of this calibre will be subjected to such a stringent, comprehensive test programme.
At the same time, pre-marketing of the Chiron is now underway. Bugatti has invited selected customers in the brand’s key markets to private previews. “The feedback from our customers concerning the Chiron is outstanding,” says the Bugatti President. “Our order book is steadily filling up. More than 100 customers have already ordered the Chiron despite the fact that they have had no opportunity so far to experience the fantastic driving properties of the Chiron.“
Lydie Barre-Chiron, descendant and biographer of Louis Chiron, recently visited the Bugatti’s headquarters in Molsheim to inspect the vehicle that will bear the name of her famous forebear. “The Chiron is a modern super sports car that is instantly recognisable as a Bugatti,” says Lydie Barre-Chiron. “It looks fantastic, just magnificent. The design already indicates that this car will be very powerful and very fast. If Louis Chiron were alive today, I’m sure he would be proud that such an extraordinary sports car is to bear his name and is to represent the brand with which he achieved his greatest successes.”

EUROPE - Beautiful new limited run Bentley Mulsanne.

  • New Limited Edition Mulsanne exclusively for Europe
  • Inspired by gentleman, visionary and Bentley Boy, Tim Birkin
  • Three exquisite colour specifications with unique styling details
  • Mulliner Driving Specification, Entertainment Specification, and fitted luggage set epitomise the pinnacle of British luxury motoring

Bentley Motors today unveils a new Limited Edition model exclusively for European customers, the Birkin Mulsanne.

Taking inspiration from Sir Henry ‘Tiger’ Tim Birkin – the legendary Bentley Boy who travelled and raced extensively around Europe in the 1920s and 1930s – this new model features numerous unique styling details and represents the pinnacle of British luxury motoring in its most discerning form.

The Limited Edition of just 22 cars is available in three colour specifications: a fresh and contemporary Ghost White, Damson for a more vibrant touch, and a sophisticated contrast of Fountain Blue and Dark Sapphire, offering a modern interpretation of the classic two-tone Bentley paint design.

Numbered door sill plaques, a unique 21" wheel design inspired by those on the original Mulsanne concept car, and a striking 3D ‘Flying B’ logo stitched into the vehicle headrests and inlaid into the wood of the front fascia and rear picnic tables, identify the Birkin models.  In addition, all three specifications feature a stunning tailored luggage set – each one hand-crafted, individually numbered and matched with the interior of each car.

Items have been selected for the Birkin Limited Edition from the Mulsanne’s extensive options list for the well-travelled connoisseur and the Mulliner Driving Specification delivers an engaging motoring experience thanks to a unique ‘Sport’ setting on the Drive Dynamics Control system.  An intricate diamond quilting pattern to the seats and door panels, complemented by an indented leather headlining and ‘knurling’ details to the interior metalwork, create a contemporary and tactile finish to the cabin.

For those travelling in the rear of the Birkin Mulsanne’s spacious cabin, the Entertainment Specification offers a luxurious and comfortable space to work or relax while on the move.  Each car features exquisitely-packaged twin 8" LCD screens in the rear of the seat headrests, a DVD player, a Wi-Fi hotspot, the Naim for Bentley premium audio system and iPads integrated into the hand-crafted solid wood picnic tables.

A tribute to Tim Birkin
The muse for this Limited Edition Mulsanne, Sir Henry Ralph Stanley ‘Tim’ Birkin, was celebrated as both racing legend and unassuming style icon in his time, epitomising the idea of the British gentleman racer.

The Birkin Mulsanne specifications are born from the idea of how Birkin would commission a Bentley today.  With its effortless performance and luxurious hand-crafted cabin, the Bentley Mulsanne embodies the essence of Birkin’s beliefs as motoring connoisseur.  Now, with its unique styling details and exquisite specification, the Limited Edition Birkin Mulsanne is an automotive homage to one of Bentley’s most influential visionaries.

Birkin’s first Bentley was bought simply out of a love of fine motoring, but over time he became increasingly involved with Bentley’s efforts on the road and race track, culminating with his key role in the development of the ‘Blower’ Bentley in 1928.  Birkin saw that to retain its competitive racing edge, the company needed to increase the power of the 130 bhp Bentley 4 ½ litre, and so pushed to fit the car with a supercharger, which increased power to an impressive 242 bhp.

Birkin convinced company owner Woolf Barnato and financial-backer Dorothy Paget to support a production run of 50 cars in order to qualify for Le Mans.  It was for this car – and his fearless style of driving it – that Birkin is perhaps best known.
