Description :	Due to none conformity during manufacture the resistance of the insulated base inside the Engine Control Unit (ECU) which controls the electric motor, may decrease. As a result, the voltage in the circuit may become unstable causing the warning light to illuminate and the driving motor power to be restricted to the fail safe control. In the worst case scenario the vehicle may not be able to be restarted and the battery may not be able to be charged.
Remedial Action :	Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the engine ECU.

CITROEN - C-ZERO

USA - GM to add another 469,000 vehicles recalled for a number of issues - tut tut.

General Motors is recalling about 469,000 2011-12 Chevrolet Malibus for a steel cable connected to the seat belt that can weaken and break, along with nearly 53,000 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups for faulty seat frame attachment hooks.

The Malibu recall -- the largest for GM so far this year -- covers 437,045 vehicles in the U.S. and 31,842 vehicles in Canada, Mexico and territories.

The flexible steel cable that connects the seat belt to the vehicle in the affected Malibus can wear and separate over time as passengers make seat adjustments, the automaker said in an emailed statement. GM knows of 36 claims and one minor injury linked to the defect, but is not aware of any accidents or fatalities.

Owners of recalled Malibus can bring their cars to dealerships for inspection and replacement of the lap pretensioner, if needed.

The Colorado and Canyon recall covers 48,309 vehicles in the U.S. and 4,620 vehicles in Canada. About 13,000 of the vehicles are in U.S. dealer stocks, a GM spokesman said in an email. 

GM said it is not aware of any crashes, injuries or fatalities stemming from the defect.

Seat frame attachments in the 2015 Colorado and Canyon may not have been properly attached to the vehicle body during assembly, GM said in the emailed statement. If the part was improperly attached, the front of the seat may not remain secured to the vehicle in the event of a crash.

Dealers will inspect affected trucks to assess whether the seat frame attachment hooks need repair.

SUMMARY:

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 Toyota Avalon vehicles manufactured February 9, 2010, to October 22, 2012. In the affected vehicles, the sub-woofer speaker located in the trunk may experience an intermittent electrical short which may cause damage to the integrated circuit (IC) in the audio amplifier. In some cases, the damaged IC may allow a constant electrical current flow to the sub-woofer.

CONSEQUENCE:

A constant electrical current flow may cause the sub-woofer to overheat, increasing the risk of fire.

REMEDY:

Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will provide a remedy for the audio system, free of charge. Until the remedy is available, Toyota will mail an interim notice and dealers will disconnect the sub-woofer. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. RECALL - AUDI - various models recalled worldwide for fuel injection system faults.

Audi will recall 80,000 vehicles due to issues with the fuel-injection system, the automaker said, adding that about 35,000 are from China. The cars were made between April 2011 and April 2012, and "in rare cases customers may notice a smell of fuel in affected vehicles," Audi said in an e-mailed statement.

China's official Xinhua news agency, citing the country's quality watchdog, reported that Volkswagen's local joint venture, China FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co. Ltd., will begin the recall on March 20, affecting various Audi A4, A5, A6, A7 and Q7 models.

China is Audi's biggest single market. Last year the automaker sold 578,932 vehicles there, a rise of 18 percent over 2013.

Last week, official data showed the world's second-largest economy grew at its slowest pace in 24 years in 2014 as auto sales growth halved to 7 percent from the year before.

JEEP - GRAND CHEROKEE

USA RECALL #12 - Mercedes recalls certain S-Class models for possible TPMS failure.

SUMMARY:

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (Mercedes Benz) is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 S550, S550 CGI, S63, S600 Bi-Turbo, S65 AMG, S550 4-Matic, and S550 CGI 4-Matic and S400 Hybrid vehicles manufactured from March 3, 2011, through July 30, 2011, for failing to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicles Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)." The tire pressure monitoring system indicators may only illuminate for a portion of the time required by the standard and under certain conditions may not re-illuminate immediately after the vehicle is restarted as required.

CONSEQUENCE:

If all four wheel sensors in the subject vehicles are simultaneously malfunctioning or missing, the TPMS will provide an initial warning, but this warning will not automatically repeat on subsequent ignition cycles, failing to remind the driver that the system is offline. Driving unknowingly with incorrectly inflated tires may result in sudden tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.

REMEDY:

Mercedes Benz will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the tire pressure monitoring unit, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in September 2014. Owners may contact Mercedes Benz at 1-800-367-6372.

USA - Chrysler Group Recall: 2011-2012 Dodge Charger Headlight Issue

The Chrysler group is issuing a recall for nearly 50,000 2011-2012 Dodge Charger sedans for an issue with headlight components. The Recall affects 43,450 cars in the U.S., 2,850 in Canada, 375 in Mexico, and 2,700 Dodge Chargers abroad.

The Issue: Dodge Chargers from the 2011 and 2012 model years may have halogen headlights with faulty components that could overheat. Chrysler says it's not aware of any injuries or accidents caused by the faulty headlights.

The Fix: Chrysler will contact owners and schedule an inspection and service. If the headlights are found to be faulty, dealers will fix or replace the components at no cost to the owner. Owners may also contact Chrysler directly at 1-800-853-1403.
