Another new dealership joins the ranks of MG's dealers, as the brand grows so does its dealer base.

Burton-upon-Trent’s T L Darby, a family-run business for more than 50 years, has joined MG Motor UK’s expanding network. To celebrate, local residents were given the opportunity to attend an exclusive launch event a couple of weeks ago, Tuesday 13 June. The doors of the showroom were opened for guests, giving them the chance to see the dealership and the new MG XS, which will be available from Autumn 2017.
Opening the showroom was Burton’s new Mayor, Simon Gaskin, who ceremonially cut a ribbon and welcomed guests to the dealership.
Refreshments were on hand and visitors had the chance to win an overnight stay for two adults at the Breadsall Priory Marriott Hotel & Country Club, and the use of an MG GS for the weekend.
Richard Darby, Managing Director at T L Darby MG, said: “We have been a part of the local community for five decades, and we’re extremely proud of our place in Burton. MG is Britain’s fastest growing car brand with an impressive range, which we are delighted to be able to offer our customers.”
Matthew Cheyne, Head of Sales and Marketing at MG Motor UK, added: “We’re pleased to welcome such a passionate supporter of the brand to our dealer network. T L Darby MG has a long-established reputation for delivering excellent service and we’re thrilled to see them join us at MG.”

Another dealership is added to MG's ever expanding portfolio of dealers.

TL Darby, a leading dealer group in Burton-upon-Trent and Staffordshire, is to join MG Motor UK’s nationwide dealer network. The move coincides with the dealership celebrating 50 years of trading, during which it has established itself as a premier name in the region for car sales, parts and servicing.
A 2016 Motor Trader Industry Award winner for Best New Build, TL Darby operates a number of showrooms, including a site in Burton’s bustling town centre.

The new partnership will give motorists across Burton-upon-Trent and Derby more chance than ever before to pick-up one of MG’s stylish new models, including the MG GS SUV and the MG3 supermini.

MG opens another new dealership to expand it's portfolio and expand sales further in 2017.

Beaver Garages, the family-run motor dealer based in Minehead, Somerset, has been appointed an MG Motor UK franchise, expanding the resurgent car brand’s network in the South East.
Established in 1981 as Richard Beaver Garages, the business operates from three locations in Taunton and Minehead, providing retail, servicing and used car solutions to drivers in the region.
The move to MG is a major development for Beaver Garages, which chose the marque due to the growing reputation of its new models and the strong culture of collaboration from the manufacturer’s Longbridge team.

Group sales manager at Beaver Garages, Wayne Johnson, said: “Having talked to several other car manufacturers looking to expand their network, we found the team at MG to be very approachable, business-like and easy to deal with. Unlike many other big car brands, the team based in Birmingham was always easy to contact and very proactive when it came to setting up the franchise.”
Beaver Garages will begin actively retailing the MG3 supermini and all-new SUV, the MG GS, before Christmas.
Johnson continued: “While we were really impressed with the style, build quality and sheer value for money that the new MG range offered, we were also pleasantly surprised by the proactive way the company provides sales support for its models. For instance, MG’s current 0% finance offer on new models is an incredible incentive for new drivers to get behind the wheel of the funky supermini or bigger GS.”
Matthew Cheyne, Head of Sales & Marketing at MG Motor UK, added: “Beaver Garages is one of the most respected dealers in the South West. It has been offering great customer service for more than 30 years now and are very active in supporting local sports clubs and other community activities. Beaver Garages a great family team and we’re delighted to have them on board as an MG Motor franchisee.”
While MG sales will initially be conducted at Beaver Garage’s existing premises in Minehead, the business is planning to open a dedicated MG showroom in the summer of 2017.

Another dealership joins MG to push the brand further, as new models and derivatives are becoming imminent.

MG Motor UK has continued to grow its national dealer network with the appointment of Fred Henderson Ltd. The family-run business, based in Durham City, has more than 43 years’ experience in the motor industry.
Established in 1973 by successful rally driver, Fred Henderson, the business was originally situated in a disused workshop underneath the Durham City railway bridge. Fred quickly built up the business, developing a strong reputation for great customer service and excellent value-for-money.
Fred’s son David, who is also a keen racer, joined the business in 2004 to concentrate on the workshop element and now holds the title of Dealer Principal. A used car division was acquired in 2011, which now retails more than 600 used vehicles every year.
Now located in Langley Moor, the franchise dealership is known throughout Durham and the surrounding areas for car sales, breakdown service and a strong workshop customer base. The company has also recently acquired a bodyshop. Going forward, Fred Henderson Ltd will retail MG’s latest model range, including the MG3 supermini and all-new SUV, the MG GS.
David Henderson, Dealer Principal, commented: “Joining the MG dealer network is a big step forward for our business. The latest models are fantastic value for money and will be well received by our loyal customer base.
“Both the MG3 and MG GS are the perfect blend of style, substance and performance. Each model is fitted with the latest driving technologies, yet remains surprisingly affordable. Whether a new or experienced driver, both models offer an unintimidating, yet engaging drive – two real stand-out cars in their respective classes.”
Matthew Cheyne, Head of Sales and Marketing at MG Motor UK, added: “With an excellent reputation for friendly service and expert advice, we’re delighted to welcome Fred Henderson Ltd to our national dealer network.
“The latest in a long line of UK dealer appointments, the Durham-based dealer will play a key role in providing customers across the region with access to our latest model range.”

MG returns home with the opening of an all new dealership at Abingdon, right near the old MG production facility.

It’s back to the future as the latest MG dealership opens in the brand’s historic birthplace.
Lodge Hill Garage in Abingdon is just a stone’s throw away from the site of the original MG factory where cars were built from 1929 to 1980. Now the latest MG3 and MG GS models are proudly displayed in the showroom of the UK’s latest MG dealership.

The Abingdon dealership joins one of the fastest growing brands in Britain and new MGs in the Oxford and Abingdon area have created a wave of interest. Lodge Hill’s Principal, Nigel Murrin, said: “We’ve had a huge response from people wishing us well and saying how glad they are to see the MG name back. It’s just a reminder how much passion there is for the brand.
“Now we’re planning to repay that with a huge official opening weekend event and we will be confirming the dates very shortly.”
Lodge Hill Garage is on the busy Oxford Road in Abingdon, the main commuter route between Abingdon and Oxford. Drivers can’t fail to miss it – because high on a plinth on the forecourt is a full-size replica of an RAF Spitfire!
Peter Jewson, the co-director of Lodge Hill, installed the fighter as a tribute to the mainly women pilots who formed the Air Transport Auxiliary. They flew the planes from the UK factories, where they were built, to their operational stations.  Peter is also behind a fund to raise £10,000 to have a permanent memorial to the ATA in the Imperial War Museum.
Lodge Hill Garage was established in 2003, but the addition of the MG franchise has created three new jobs – an MG trained technician, an apprentice technician and a receptionist. More new jobs could follow if the business expands.
Nigel, who served a mechanical apprenticeship at the start of his career, has worked in the motor industry all of his working life, including working in the car trimming business and running the retail side of dealer operations.
He said: “We can’t wait to get started with MG. The brand has a rich heritage, beginning on our doorstep. Both Peter and I have owned, and still own, classic MGs, but it’s the new models that are so impressive.
“The MG3 is just a great little car offering so much value for money and it drives so well. While the MG GS is just stunning – it’s an exceedingly good car.”
Matthew Cheyne, MG’s Head of Sales and Marketing, said: “It’s always great to welcome new dealers to our brand, but even more so to now have a dealer representing us in the very birthplace of MG.”
MG’s summertime sales boom continues to accelerate, with dealers up and down the country reporting record requests for MG3 and MG GS test drives. MG Motor UK sales so far this year are way ahead of last year’s figures and it is expected that 2016 will be a record year for MG sales.
While the UK car industry has increased by an average of 2.8 per cent so far this year, MG’s growth is more than five times that level, with official figures showing the brand is up more than 15 per cent year to date.
New MG dealerships have recently opened in Swansea, Bradford, Ayr, Warrington, Epsom, Wolverhampton and Brandon in Suffolk. More new dealers will be announced in the near future.
