Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

Aston Martin to develop new AMR branded products with the first two already signed off.

  • New AMR brand strengthens the connection between road and race cars
  • AMR derivatives planned for every core model in the Aston Martin range
  • AMR Pro models to have increased power, sharper dynamics and unique exterior and interior treatment
  • Rapide AMR and Vantage AMR Pro concepts confirmed for production

Aston Martin has chosen the 2017 Geneva Motor Show to launch AMR - an exciting new brand that brings a new dimension of race inspired dynamism and performance.
Reflecting Aston Martin’s racing pedigree, AMR takes technology and inspiration from motorsport to amplify the sporting prowess present across the model range. With enhanced performance, sharper dynamics and more powerful design language, AMR takes Aston Martin’s road cars to new and exciting extremes.
The AMR brand follows in the wheeltracks of successive iconic Aston Martin road cars which boasted top-level racing pedigree. In the mid-1930s the success of Aston Martin’s Team Cars in the Ulster TT road race led the marque to build further examples of the lightweight two-seater for sale to the public.
In 1951, Sir David Brown introduced uprated and highly desirable ‘Vantage’ specification models, and steered the marque to an historic outright win at Le Mans with the iconic DBR1 in 1959.
Since the formation of Aston Martin Racing (AMR) in 2004 Aston Martin has enjoyed success in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), winning the 2016 FIA WEC GT Drivers Championship, while also securing three class victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans over this period. Similarly, Aston Martin Racing’s GT3 and GT4 racers have secured countless victories and championship titles around the world.
Two AMR concepts have been unveiled in Geneva: The Rapide AMR and Vantage AMR Pro. The Rapide represents the first tier of AMR, enhancing the four-door sports car with a comprehensive suite of power, chassis and styling upgrades, plus a spectacular new interior treatment. The Vantage AMR Pro - heavily influenced by Aston Martin Racing’s WEC winning V8 Vantage GTE - is the pinnacle; an uncompromising demonstration of AMR’s ‘Track to Tarmac’ philosophy whereby race technology is transferred to road cars.
While future development of the core AMR models will be part of Aston Martin’s central vehicle engineering teams, development of all AMR Pro models will be led by Q by Aston Martin Advanced Operations. This highly-skilled department - managed by Aston Martin’s VP and Chief Special Operations Officer, David King - already has extensive experience of creating extreme Aston Martins, with recent projects including the Vantage GT12, Vantage GT8 and Aston Martin Vulcan.
Underlining Aston Martin’s commitment to its new high-performance brand, AMR’s European development and brand centre will be based at Aston Martin’s state-of-the-art Nürburgring Test Centre, which is situated within sight of the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife race track.
Marek Reichman, Aston Martin EVP and Chief Creative Officer, says that the AMR brand was a logical next step after the ’sold-out’ success of limited edition sporting versions like the Vantage GT8 and Vantage GT12: “Each time we have pushed the boundaries and done something extreme, the customers have loved the cars. AMR enables us to take Aston Martin into a new dimension. One where we can turn-up the sporting DNA present in all of our models and make a true statement. An AMR model will have an instantly recognisable design language. One that accentuates and amplifies, together with the latest GT race car technology for the road. They will be special and rare cars that are credible, thrilling to drive and hugely desirable to own.”
Rapide AMR
A striking presence on the Aston Martin stand, the Rapide AMR provides a dynamic and visual blueprint for future AMR models. Featuring a 600PS version of Aston Martin’s celebrated 6.0-litre naturally aspirated V12 breathing through a new quad exhaust system, it is the world’s fastest and most thrilling four-door, capable of 210MPH. Resplendent in AMR’s signature Stirling Green with vibrant lime green accents, riding on new 21in alloy wheels and featuring a dramatic new full height signature grille, front splitter, side sills, rear diffuser and aero flip on the rear decklid, the Rapide AMR makes a striking statement.
Extensive use of carbon fibre detailing on the exterior provide the perfect finishing touches. The interior is equally breathtaking. Lightweight carbon fibre front seats, trimmed throughout in Dark Knight Alcantara with Lime Green accents and carbon fibre waterfall, centre console and door casings, ensure the Rapide AMR is a fabulous fusion of race car attitude with a luxurious crafted twist.
Vantage AMR Pro
The Vantage AMR Pro is an extreme, track-only expression of performance and the ultimate iteration of the Vantage. Powered by a 507PS development of Aston Martin Racing’s GT4 race engine, the Vantage AMR Pro is the most powerful V8 Vantage ever.
Race-spec adjustable suspension, competition engine and transmission mounts and new 19in x 9.5in front and 19in x 11.5in rear centre lock wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Cup 2 tyres, the Vantage AMR Pro promises inspirational handling precision and exceptional levels of grip and traction.
This race car performance is matched by authentic motorsport styling. Once again painted in Stirling Green with lime green accents, the Vantage AMR Pro not only takes its colour scheme from Aston Martin Racing’s V8 Vantage GTE racer, but uses the same bonnet and rear wing as the World Endurance Championship winner.
To compliment these authentic motorsport parts, Aston Martin’s design team has designed a new front bumper that incorporates a new bold full-height front grille, a new front valance and splitter, front fenders, sill appliques and a revised rear diffuser.
The racing theme continues inside, with extensive use of carbon fibre, lavish Dark Knight Alcantara upholstery with lime green accents and a custom roll cage designed by Q by Aston Martin. The result is a Vantage that looks as spectacular as it drives.
Aston Martin’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Andy Palmer, was quick to confirm that both the Rapide AMR and Vantage AMR Pro concepts are set for production: “As passionate enthusiasts of Aston Martin’s competition pedigree, AMR is something we have wanted to bring to fruition for some time. Cars such as the Vantage GT8 and Vantage GT12 confirmed that our customers love raw, race-bred models, but we also knew there was an opportunity to create cars that offer a sharper performance focus but stop short of those truly hardcore, special series models. With the AMR brand we have the perfect platform to deliver both.
As proof of that intent I’m incredibly excited to announce that we will be putting both the Vantage AMR Pro and Rapide AMR into production: the Vantage in an extremely limited series of no more than 7 cars; the Rapide as a run of only 210 cars.
They are the start of something very exciting - a programme that will eventually see an AMR version of every model in the Aston Martin range”.

  • This futuristic and innovative Lagonda is presented with just 20,340 miles on the clock
  • The Lagonda measures over five metres long and features a striking exterior and futuristic cabin
An incredibly rare 1991 Series 4 Aston Martin Lagonda saloon is being offered for sale by specialist supercar sales and service agents, SVR.
Celebrating its 25th birthday, this Lagonda is one of only just 105 made during the three-year production run of the Series 4 model. A then-departure from the British marque’s two-seat sportscars, this model is offered with just 20,340 miles on the clock.
One of the most striking features is the square dashboard, with the Lagonda the world’s first production car to feature computer management and a digital instrumentation panel.

This particular Lagonda features the upgraded fuel injection system for its 5.2 litre V8 powerplant, allowing for a more user-friendly and efficient power delivery.
The final run of Lagondas to be produced, the Series 4 was introduced at the 1987 Geneva Motor Show, featuring slight alterations by the car’s original designer, William Towns. These included the rounding of the car’s sharp edges and the pop-up headlights replaced with the iconic triple stack arrangement, either side of the grille, the most obvious changes.
This extremely rare Lagonda – the last model to carry the name of Aston Martin’s luxury brand until the limited-run Lagonda Taraf was released in 2014 – is finished in royal blue bodywork with a cream leather and ash interior and also features cruise control, electric door mirrors and windows and a rear sunroof.

Nissan Launches new trim level on it's range of crossovers, the N-Vision either replaces or is an addition to the models.

  • New N-Vision Special Versions promote Nissan’s smart, safety-shield technologies on Juke, Qashqai and X-Trail
  • Positioned between N-Connecta and Tekna grade on Juke and Qashqai to offer even more comfort, style and convenience at accessible price points. Replaces n-tec grade on X-Trail
  • Limited production run on Juke and a new grade for Qashqai & X-Trail
  • Juke N-Vision on sale now with Qashqai and X-Trail from 1st October
Nissan is pleased to announce an exciting new addition to the Juke, Qashqai and X-Trail line-ups with the introduction of the Nissan Vision range to its class-leading crossover range.
The N-Vision Special Versions are designed to promote Nissan’s smart, safety-shield technologies.

These features will come as standard in the Nissan Vision line which is positioned between the N-Connecta and range-topping Tekna grades. The key features promoted across all three models are:
  • Around View Monitor
  • NissanConnect
  • Full Colour Rear View Cameras
  • Lane Departure Warning
At the heart of the range is Nissan’s pioneering Around View Monitor (AVM) system. AVM is part of Nissan’s desire to remove the stress and difficulty from modern-day driving by giving drivers the confidence to manage manoeuvres more easily. It is also an integral part of Nissan’s journey towards ProPilot, the brand’s autonomous driving technology which will debut in Europe on the Qashqai crossover in 2017.
ProPilot is part of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, a strategy announced earlier this year as a guide to the brand’s product evolution. It will anchor critical company decisions around how cars are powered, driven and integrated into society, all while remaining focused on creating more enjoyable driving experiences.
The new Nissan Vision line adds even more customer choice and value to Nissan’s popular crossover line-up.
The limited-production Juke N-Vision is based on the generously specified N-Connecta grade with the addition of:
  • Safety pack (Safety Shield Technologies including Around View Monitor, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Moving Object Detection)
  • Exterior+ pack (front and rear bumper finishers, wing mirror covers, headlamp inserts and 18” alloys with coloured inserts)
  • Floor mats with white stitching
  • Metallic/pearlescent paint (no free paint option)
Further comfort and convenience is afforded by the new NissanConnect 5.8” touch-screen navigation and entertainment system; DAB & Internet Radio with 6 speakers; colour reversing camera; electric folding and heated door mirrors; Intelligent Key with Start push button and automatic lights and wipers.
The Juke N-Vision is available in two distinctive colour combinations. A Pearl black metallic exterior with London white interior personalisation and London white Exterior+ pack; or a Storm white pearlescent exterior with London white interior personalisation and Tokyo black Exterior+ pack.
Two engines are offered with the DiG-T 115 petrol version priced at £18,860 OTR (+£195 for Storm white pearlescent paint) or the dCi 110 diesel model at £20,485 OTR (+£195 for Storm white pearlescent paint).
The Qashqai N-Vision is priced from £23,790. The model builds on the N-Connecta specification with the following enhancements:
  • Panoramic Glass Roof with one-touch shade
  • Satin Silver Roof Rails
  • Sports Alcantara and Graphite Part Leather Trim
  • Heated Front Seats
  • Electric Driver Seat Adjustment
  • Dark Headlining
The N-Vision, along with the Black Edition, features the Panoramic Glass Roof as standard, normally a £450 option. The full range of body colours is available with one standard (£0), seven Metallic (£575) and one Pearlescent (£745) paint option. (Prices effective 1st October).
The Qashqai N-Vision is powered by a choice of four refined powerplants – two petrol and two diesel – with CO2 emissions from just 99g/km on the dCi 110 with 17” alloys. The engine/transmission options are:
  • DiG-T 115 (Manual or Xtronic 2WD)
  • DiG-T 163 (Manual 2WD);
  • dCi 110 (Manual 2WD)
  • dCi 130 (Manual or Xtronic 2WD and Manual 4WD)
The X-Trail N-Vision replaces the n-tec grade, which sits between Acenta and Tekna. Standard features include the Smart Vision Pack with Forward Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning and Traffic Signal Recognition; NissanConnect 7" touch-screen navigation and entertainment system; Around View Monitor; stylish 19” alloy wheels, and one-touch automatic opening power tailgate.
The X-Trail N-Vision is available with the DIG-T 163 2WD petrol and six-speed manual transmission or the dCi 130 diesel with 2WD mated to a six-speed or Xtronic gearbox or a 4WD with six-speed manual. Prices remain the same as the outgoing n-tec grade, starting from £26,735.

  • Plum Crazy will open in September, one month early for sold orders only on 2016 Dodge Challenger or Charger models with production beginning this November
  • Regular dealer orders for Plum Crazy are scheduled to open in October and will only be available for order until the end of the year
  • Pulled from the archives: for the first time ever, Dodge brand provides its full production numbers of limited-edition and high-impact hues since Charger and Challenger’s return to market in 2006 and 2008, respectively
  • Limited-edition models and limited-production paint colors add collectability, accounting for less than 11 percent of the entire global production of Dodge Charger and Challenger to date
August 11, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Beyond its rich muscle car legacy, which is highlighted today by the Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat models – the most powerful muscle cars ever, Dodge continues to produce some of the most recognizable high-impact and heritage hues that have ever hit the blacktop. And for this year’s Woodward Dream Cruise, Dodge will debut the next limited-edition color from its archive: Plum Crazy.

“Powerful muscle cars painted in impactful colors make Woodward Dream Cruise the perfect setting for Dodge to debut the newest generation Challenger and Charger models in Plum Crazy,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and Chief Executive Officer – Dodge Brand and SRT Brand, FCA – North America. “And with our strongest muscle-car arsenal ever, we knew it was time to reach into our Dodge paint code archive and offer our high-performance R/T Scat Pack and SRT Hellcat models in one of the most iconic exterior colors of all time.”

Plum Craziness: 46 years of Dodge brand’s iconic color
Since 1970, Plum Crazy has been one of the most desired paint colors for the Dodge Challenger and Charger. Today, the enthusiast demand for this heritage hue is stronger than ever – as the signature paint color is directly associated with high collectability and the famed “Mopar-or-no-car” legacy. Add in the widest performance range ever for the 2016 Challenger and Charger, and there hasn’t been a better time to paint the Dodge brand’s iconic muscle car arsenal in the nostalgic color.

“From the aggressive and in-your-face styling of the SRT Hellcat models, the reverberating black stripes on our Shaker models, to the nostalgic dual A-line side stripes in satin black or gloss white on the R/T Classic model – Plum Crazy further builds on Dodge brand’s muscle-car roots and adds to Challenger and Charger’s vibrant legacy,” said Mark Trostle, Head of Dodge and SRT Design, FCA US LLC.

Plum Power: up to 485 naturally aspirated, or 707 supercharged horsepower

Released for the first-time ever: production numbers for high-impact hues
Dodge Challenger and Charger owners are among the most loyal and performance-hungry automotive enthusiasts. These men and women have a deep appreciation for their rides and for the first time ever, the Dodge brand has reached in to its archive to provide these gearheads with the limited-edition and high-impact hues production numbers.

“For years, our Challenger and Charger owners have wanted to know just how unique their rides are, and the team at Dodge wants to further the collectability of these modern muscle machines with the actual production numbers,” added Kuniskis. “From limited-edition models like the Mopar ’10 and Challenger SRT8 Yellow Jacket, to limited-production Challenger and Charger models in high-impact paint colors such as Sublime, TorRed, Go Mango and Green With Envy, we’re excited to share our factory-backed production numbers to our current and future collectors and enthusiasts.”

With nearly 1.5 million Dodge Charger and Challenger models produced since both nameplates returned to market in 2006 and 2008 model years respectively, these limited-edition models and limited-production colors are highly collectable and represent less than 11 percent of the entire global production.
