The Porsche Macan GTS, a Thoroughbred Sports car in an SUV body, dont be fooled, this can be fast.

Increased performance, uprated chassis, distinctive style
The new Macan GTS distinguishes itself with a driving experience that surpasses even that for which the Porsche compact SUV has become renowned. A re-engineered chassis, 20 hp more power and uprated brakes are among the dynamic GTS attributes keen drivers will appreciate. Styling highlights featuring typical Porsche GTS motifs complete the distinctive road presence.

In terms of performance, the 360 hp petrol engine with 500 Nm of pulling power places the GTS between the Macan S and the Macan Turbo in the range line-up. The technical basis for this is the 3.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V6 of the Macan S, supplemented by the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) seven-speed transmission and Porsche Traction Management (PTM) with variable power distribution to all four wheels. A sports exhaust system gives an aural clue to the potency of the heart beating within.
A more sporting state of tune has been applied to the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), which also offers a 15mm lowered ride height. The 20-inch diameter RS Spyder design alloy wheels finished in matt black paint complete the dynamic focus of the GTS. Incidentally, the wider tyres on the rear axle that are a unique feature of every Macan chassis, also provide a particularly purposeful stance to the new model.
Outstanding Porsche dynamic ability combined with characteristic day-to-day versatility are offered by the Macan GTS; 0-62 mph acceleration is possible in 5.2 secs, just 5.0 secs with the optional Sport Chrono package. Top speed is 160 mph. This is balanced by fuel economy of up to 31.4 mpg Combined and CO2emissions of 212 g/km.
Inside, the athletic style continues with ‘GTS’ sport seats with Alcantara centre panels, and additional Alcantara interior trim. The new Porsche Communication Management with a touch-screen monitor, extended functionality and increased operating comfort first seen in the next generation 911 now celebrates its debut in the Macan. The range of connectivity and infotainment versatility can be extended further with key options, which includes satellite navigation. Together with the optional Connect Plus module, the multi-touch monitor offers online navigation with real-time traffic information and smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay®.
The Macan GTS can be recognised at first glance by exterior accents in black – in high gloss above the waistline and in a lustrous matt finish in the lower areas of the body. This is further complemented by a special version of the Sport Design styling package in GTS-specific colouring. For the first time, the Macan GTS is also available with LED headlights as an option which extend the range of illumination of the road under all conditions.
Together, these special qualities position the new Macan GTS as offering increased dynamic ability as well as further emphasising the traditional Porsche brand attributes. As a result, the GTS supports the claim that the Macan is the sports car in the compact SUV market segment.
The Macan GTS goes on sale in the UK and Ireland from 28 October, 2015, priced from £55,188 RRP.
Standard equipment on every Macan GTS includes Porsche Traction Management (PTM), seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) double-clutch transmission, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), sports exhaust, 20-inch diameter matt black finish alloy wheels, Sport Design exterior styling, sports seats with ‘GTS’ interior highlights, digital radio, front and rear ParkAssist, floor mats, multi-function steering wheel with gearshift paddles, electronic tailgate release, USB port, Bluetooth connection, and a three-year warranty and three year roadside assistance package.
Customers will also be able to explore the potential of their new Macan GTS, and further develop their own skills behind the wheel, by participating in a complimentary course at the Porsche Experience Centre, Silverstone.

More efficient and with greater sprinting power-The new All-Wheel drive sports car.

Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and 911 Targa 4 with turbocharged engines and new all-wheel drive
A sports car with all-wheel drive is the first choice for more than one in three Porsche 911 buyers. With the new 911 Carrera 4 and 911
Targa 4, the innovative turbocharged engines are more powerful and consume less, with the improved all-wheel drive increasing dynamics and driving safety. In addition, the adaptive PASM chassis (Porsche Active Suspension Management) with its 10-millimetre lower ride height included as standard enables an even greater spread between sporty circuit and relaxed long-distance driving.

Rear-axle steering that is available as an option for the Carrera 4Smodels further increases the dynamic spectrum considerably. Interior functionality is enhanced by the standard-feature Porsche Communication (PCM) connectivity and infotainment system with simplified operation and multi-touch display.
The all-wheel drive models not only include the numerous visual refinements of the new 911 Carrera generation but also have their own individual distinguishing characteristics.
For instance, the light strip between the rear lights now produces an especially distinctive effect thanks to its new three-dimensional design. The light strip also underlines the signature look of the all-wheel drive 911, with rear wings that arch further outwards by 44-millimetres, as in previous models.
Additional distinguishing features of the new 911 generation range from the headlights with four-point daytime running lights, via door handles without recess covers, to the redesigned rear lid with vertical louvres and new rear lights – including the characteristic four-point brake lights.
New developments in the visual appearance also underline the sophisticated elegance of the 911 Targa. With its individual design, the new 911 Targa continues to stand out clearly from the coupĂ© and cabriolet. It spectacularly combines the classic Targa idea with advanced roof convenience.
Like the legendary original Targa, it has the characteristic wide bar in place of B-pillars, a removable roof section over the front seats and a wrap-around rear window without C-pillars. The roof segment can be opened and closed at the push of a button, with the soft top being accommodated behind the rear seats as it opens.
Faster acceleration with up to 12 per cent lower fuel consumption
Behind the re-engineered flat engines are more than four decades of Porsche experience with turbocharged engines from motor racing and production sports car. The result is that all new 911 Carrera models impress with top values in terms of performance, driving fun and efficiency.
Thanks to bi-turbocharging, the three-litre, six-cylinder engines in the 911 Carrera 4 and 911 Targa 4 achieve an output of 370 hp (272 kW) and a torque of 450 Nm, while output in the S models increases to 420 hp (309 kW) and torque to 500 Nm.
This gives the driver an added bonus of 20 hp (15 kW) to convert into driving fun. The greater power of the Carrera S models comes from turbochargers with modified compressors, a specific exhaust system and tuned engine management.
In combination with the now electro-hydraulically controlled all-wheel drive, the 911 Carrera 4 for the first time even achieves better acceleration values than its rear-wheel-drive counterparts.
Equipped with the options of PDK and Sport Chrono package, the 911 Carrera 4 sprints from zero to 62 mph in 4.1 seconds (0.4 seconds less than its predecessor model), with the S model registering 3.8 seconds (0.3 seconds less).
The cabriolet S and the 911 Targa 4 with comparable equipment need just 0.2 seconds longer – the time it takes to blink. Top speeds vary according to model and equipment between 178 mph and 189 mph.
Traditionally, every new generation of engines from Porsche combines more output with less consumption. Consequently, fuel consumption in the 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet with PDK rises to a combined 36 mpg (previously 32.5 mpg). The models with the most significant improvements are the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet and 911 Targa 4S, each with PDK, in which average consumption rises to a combined 35 mpg (previously 30.7 mpg).
Inherited from the 918 Spyder: Sport Chrono package with mode switch
In conjunction with the optional Sport Chrono Package, the new 911 models now have a mode switch on the steering wheel for the first time, which has been derived from the 918 Spyder hybrid supercar.
The mode switch consists of a rotary selector with four positions for the driving modes “Normal”, “Sport”, “Sport Plus” and “Individual”. Using the latter setting, drivers can configure their own individual vehicle set-up, allowing them to adjust, for example, PASM, active engine mounts, PDK shifting strategy and sports exhaust system if fitted. In combination with the PDK transmission, the mode switch has an additional control, called the “Sport Response Button”.
When this button is pressed, the drivetrain is pre-conditioned for maximum acceleration for 20 seconds, for example in order to carry out overtaking manoeuvres. For this purpose, the optimum gear is engaged and the engine management adjusted to an even more spontaneous response for a short time.
Re-engineered PASM chassis with 10-millimetre lower ride height as standard
A Porsche 911 with all-wheel drive stands for the commendable combination of traction and driving safety with sporty driving performance. In this new generation, Porsche reconciles these contrasts even further.
Firstly, the electro-hydraulically controlled all-wheel drive responds with even more speed and sensitivity thanks to the technology adopted from the 911 Turbo. This especially enhances directional stability during extremely sporty driving without sacrificing any agility. Harmony between the re-engineered all-wheel drive and the retuned PASM chassis with its ten-millimetre lower ride height is thus even better.
It is fitted as standard to all Carrera models and increases stability during fast cornering. At the same time, the new shock absorber generation with its wider spread characteristics enhances comfort thanks to its even more refined responsiveness, yet it also improves car body control during dynamic driving.
The active rear-axle steering that is available as an option for the Carrera S marks the adoption of chassis technology from the 911 Turbo and 911 GT3.
It increases the turn-in agility of the 911. In addition, it leads to even higher driving stability when changing lanes at high speeds. At the same time, it ensures greater manoeuvrability in city traffic thanks to the 0.4-metre reduction in turning circle.
The improved handling is transmitted to the driver via the new steering wheel generation with a design based on that found in the 918 Spyder. The basic steering wheel has a diameter of 375-millimetres; the optional GT sports steering wheel measures 360-millimetres.
For useful everyday practicality, Porsche supplies a hydraulic lift system with integrated lifting cylinders in the struts of the front axle. Pressing a button increases the ground clearance at the front spoiler lip by 40-millimetres within five seconds and thus prevents the vehicle underbody from hitting the ground, such as when negotiating steep garage exits.
Connectivity and infotainment system: PCM with multi-touch display and new functions
The completely new PCM connectivity and infotainment system included as a standard feature integrates new functions around the multi-touch display in the centre console that now has a seven-inch format.
Also fitted as standard, the navigation system can be operated like a smartphone and can even process handwritten input. Drivers can access real-time traffic information, which allows them to gain an overview of the traffic situation in their area and on their route. In addition, mobile phones and smartphones can now be integrated more quickly, easily and extensively than before via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or cable.
This means that both vehicle-related services such as remote retrieval of vehicle data and also Internet-based services such as Google Street View and Internet radio are available. These services are being constantly expanded and improved.

Porsche announces new entry level GTS model, the same Cayenne, but cheaper.

Especially dynamic version and new entry-level model added to Cayenne portfolio

Today Porsche reveals the new Cayenne GTS, a model that announces its outstanding sporting character in its very name.

The letters GTS go back to the famous 904 Carrera GTS of 1963. In 2007, the Cayenne GTS became the first Porsche of the modern era to revive the acronym. Since then, at Porsche ‘GTS’ has stood for notably enhanced levels of dynamics, performance and driver involvement.

At the same time as the launch of the GTS, a new entry-level model with the familiar 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine rounds off the Cayenne portfolio at the start of the range.

Porsche drivers like their car to be sporty – regardless of whether it has two doors or four.

At 11 per cent, the GTS makes up a high proportion of the Cayenne model mix of what is currently the most successful range in the Porsche line-up, with the four-door sports cars for many years making a major contribution to the company's profitable growth. At the same time they ensure future investment in the broad spectrum of highly dynamic models offered across the entire portfolio.

It is not only the name of the Cayenne GTS that is resonant. The 3.6-litre V6 bi-turbo engine is the performance-oriented enhancement of the new power unit presented in the Cayenne S.

Its consumption is lower and it delivers improved levels of performance. Compared with the previous model with a V8 naturally aspirated engine, power output increases by 20 hp to 440 hp and torque by 85 Nm to 600 Nm, while fuel consumption goes down by up to 0.9 l/100 km.

The Cayenne GTS accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 5.2 seconds, or just 5.1 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono package. That's 0.5 and 0.6 seconds respectively less than the previous model. Top speed is 162 mph. As standard it has a sports exhaust system, which provides the familiarly deep GTS soundtrack.

Thanks to its chassis the Cayenne GTS captivates drivers with its unmistakable lateral dynamics. The Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) damping system has a sporty set-up.

With the standard steel-spring suspension the vehicle sits 24 mm lower, while with the optional air suspension the figure is 20 mm. Further standard features include the brakes from the Cayenne Turbo with 390 mm discs on the front axle (358 mm at the back), inclusive of brake callipers painted red in typical Turbo fashion.

Other design attributes also turn the Cayenne GTS externally into a particularly sporty vehicle. As standard it has the Turbo nose section with large air intakes and the Sport Design package, including more contoured side sills and wheel arch extensions. The latter, like the roof spoiler and lower rear of the vehicle, are painted body colour.

Black provides some striking contrasts: all lettering is in this colour, as are the 20-inch wheels in the RS Spyder design, the exhaust tailpipes, the bi-xenon headlights' inner apertures and the fitment of darkened LED rear lights. There's a new feature on the front doors: striking GTS lettering.

The sporting character continues on the inside. Eight-way electrically adjustable GTS sports seats in leather/Alcantara upholstery, including ‘GTS’ lettering on the head restraints, are fitted as standard. Alcantara is the most apparent material used inside the car. The interior GTS package is optionally available in carmine red or rhodium silver with rev counter face, decorative stitching, head-restraint lettering and safety belts in contrasting colour.

The engine used in the Cayenne, the new base model, is the familiar 3.6-litre V6 naturally aspirated engine, delivering 300 hp. It accelerates the Cayenne from 0 to 62 mph in 7.7 seconds – 7.6 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono package. That is 0.2 seconds faster than before. At 143 mph, top speed matches the level of the previous model.

Like all new Cayenne models it benefits from general efficiency measures, such as coasting, Auto Stop/Start function and thermal management, as a result of which fuel consumption drops in comparison with the previous model by 0.7 l/100 km to 9.2 l/100 km. That equates to CO2 emissions of 215 g/km, thus 21 g/km lower than before.

Compared with the previous model the new Cayenne also offers more comprehensive standard features. In addition to the new eight-speed Tiptronic S with Auto Stop/Start and coasting functions these also include, for instance, the bi-xenon main headlights with four-point LED daytime driving lights, the multi-function sports steering wheel with paddle switches and an automatic tailgate.

The Cayenne and Cayenne GTS are celebrating their world premieres on 19 November at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Sales of both models commence immediately, with the Cayenne priced at £49,576 RRP and the Cayenne GTS at £72,523 RRP.

Customers will be able to explore the potential of their new Cayenne, and further develop their own skills behind the wheel, by participating in a complimentary course at the Porsche Experience Centre, Silverstone.

Porsche announces second generation 911 Carrera GTS.

‘Gran Turismo Sport’ models offer outstanding levels of Porsche performance
Porsche today announces the second generation of the 911 Carrera GTS, ahead of its arrival in showrooms this November. It will join the acclaimed Boxster GTS, Cayman GTS and Panamera GTS in the range of sports cars from Stuttgart.
Each of the four new 911 Carrera GTS models – a CoupĂ© and a Cabriolet, available with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive – build on the established core values of the iconic rear-engined 911 by adding further technical features to generate even higher levels of dynamic performance and driving enjoyment.
Under the rear engine lid lies an evocative flat-six power unit, tuned to develop 430 hp, an increase of 30 hp over the Carrera S. This is combined with the Sport Chrono package offering dynamic engine mounts, and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) damper system which lowers the car's ride height by ten millimetres.

Improved efficiency has also led to quicker acceleration and higher top speeds, and Combined fuel consumption figures remain unchanged from the favourable level of the S models. For example, when combined with the Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) double-clutch gearbox, the 911 Carrera GTS can return 32.5 mpg and also sprint from zero to 62 mph in 4.0 seconds (Cabriolet: 4.2 seconds). With the standard seven-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive, a top speed of 198 mph is possible.
The exteriors of the new 911 Carrera GTS – like other GTS models – differ significantly from the other Carrera models. All versions feature the 911 Carrera 4 body with wide-flared rear wheel arches and a wider track. Also standard are 20-inch diameter alloy wheels with centre-lock mechanism, painted in an exclusive matt black finish. Accentuating the nose styling are special trim elements and smoked bi-Xenon headlights with the addition of the Porsche Dynamic Lighting System (PDLS). The air intake grille on the rear engine lid features bespoke GTS black trim strips and black chrome-plated exhaust tailpipes add to the strong visual identity.
Further aural distinction is delivered via the standard sports exhaust system, which delivers an unmistakable GTS sound.
The driver and front passenger sit in an exclusive Alcantara interior with leather-trimmed sport seats. The centre seat panels are finished in Alcantara, as on the other Porsche GTS models.
With the addition of these new top models, the 911 Carrera range now consists of 12 sports cars at three power levels, as Coupés and Cabriolets, and in rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configuration.
The new 911 Carrera GTS models are available to order from Porsche Centres in the UK and Ireland from today, with first cars arriving in showrooms during November.

The GTS lineage
Since the legendary 904 Carrera GTS of the 1960s, the letters ‘GTS’ have stood for ‘Gran Turismo Sport’ and a promise of outstanding levels of Porsche performance.
With the new model, Porsche is extending the GTS principle once more to the 911 Carrera. Like the Cayenne GTS, Panamera GTS and Boxster and Cayman GTS models already, this is a car that stands for superior driving dynamics in its segment.
The combination of letters originates from the 904 Carrera GTS, a race car dating back to 1963 that could also be registered for use on public roads. In the 1980s and 1990s, the 924 GTS and 928 GTS cultivated this principle. It was reborn in 2007 in the form of the Cayenne GTS, and was subsequently applied to the ‘Type 997’ 911 Carrera and the Panamera.
