Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

WORLDWIDE SALES - The BMW Group achieved a worldwide 10.5% sales increase in September.

The BMW Group achieved a worldwide double-digit sales increase in September, continuing the company’s long-term upward sales trend and securing a new record for the month.
A total of 237,973 vehicles were delivered to customers around the world, an increase of 10.5% on the same month last year. This result brings the year-to-date sales total to 1,746,638 – up 6.2% compared with the same period last year and the company’s best ever sales result for the first three quarters of the year.
“Once again, the BMW Group has delivered strong sales growth across the company’s line-up,” commented Dr Ian Robertson, Member of the BMW AG Board of Management with responsibility for Sales and Marketing BMW.
“Demand for our premium models continues to grow around the world and in all vehicle classes. Customer interest in our broad range of electrified models is also stronger than ever, with a clear upward trend.

Our policy of balanced global sales continues to deliver sustainable success and profitability remains our primary focus,” Robertson added.
In September, a total of 197,419 BMW brand vehicles were delivered to customers, an increase of 9.4% on the same month last year.

Sales of MINI brand vehicles increased by 16.1% in September with a total of 40,164 delivered to customers worldwide. "This is the first time more than 40,000 MINIs have been sold in a single month, which underlines the increasing customer demand for the brand,” said Peter Schwarzenbauer, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, responsible for MINI, BMW Motorrad and Rolls-Royce.
“Our biggest growth drivers are the newest members of the MINI family, the MINI Convertible and the MINI Clubman, demonstrating the success of our brand realignment,” he added. In the first three quarters of the year, MINI sales rose by 7.2% (264,077).
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars announced the best ever third quarter sales performance in the history of the company, up 12.7% on the previous year. The region’s two largest markets both achieved significant sales increases: registrations of new BMW and MINI vehicles increased by 13.2% in Germany (28,891) and by 12.0% in the UK (45,714); this strong growth trend was also reflected in most markets in the region. • *Citroen and DS Automobiles split sales in May 2015 - Combine both to get an accurate figure when comparing to 2015 sales figures.
  • Grateful thanks for all the Figures supplied by the SMMT.
The plate change month has seen very few changes, a couple of brands have gone from YTD negative figures to positive, Volkswagen has taken a further significant drop in sales, and there seems to be no end in sight as of yet, the UK's best selling brand has again posted negative figures, even with a large amount of new products already released or about to be released, and the other German brands have seen rises over the month and YTD.

Then we have the Paris Motor show, many new cars made their European and world debuts this year, the most significant of which was the Discovery 5, the Now long on the tooth Disco 4 and the lightly adjusted Disco 3 are now so old and in desperate need of  replacement, we now have it in all its glory, in fact they launched it over a 5 million lego brick bridge for the world to see.

Jaguar Land Rover both produced huge growth spurts, and again, there seems to be no end in sight, with the UK, European and world figures all growing over the year and producing record numbers of new registrations, the All-New Discovery 5 has had its launch, and Jaguar are going forward with the new small SUV, and XF sportbrake.

PSA has NOT had a good year so far this year with sales down over the three brands, even though there has been new models, refreshed products additional technology and more, next year should be better with the new C3, 3008, 5008 and the possible launch of the Citroen Aircross, amongst others.

MG continues to grow with the plate change month nearly doubling its sales, and year to date is running at nearly 35% up, the MG3 and MG GS have both proven to be good sellers, next year, if the rumour mill is correct, should see a new small SUV and the MG5, refreshed MG3, with new engines and an Auto too, but i wont be holding my breath, as MG tend to drag out the models.

The month saw a 1.55% growth over the same month last year, so, BREXIT is not hitting hard on the auto sales front, YTD is still higher at 2.56%, the doom mongers have, so far, gotten it all wrong, JLR has been stating that sales will be hit hard, yet they then release record sales figures, so either they know something, or they are after some grant or tax break, or indeed, maybe sales will take a turn for the worse, but i cant see it happening this year, i still expect 2016 to end the year on a high.
