Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

FRANKFURT - Bentley to showcase a new accessories collection at the German Auto Show.

  • Collection for men and women highlights all aspects of the modern Bentley lifestyle
  • Debut for the new Collection at the Bentley Boutique at Frankfurt IAA
  • Bentley core values of craftsmanship, exquisite materials and attention to detail translated into desirable statement items for discerning global customers
Bentley Motors is delighted to announce a luxurious and stylish new Bentley Collection which will debut at Frankfurt Motor Show on September 15. More than 300 new items embody the essence of the Bentley brand – unparalleled craftsmanship and incredible attention to detail.

The range comprises several distinct collections; Business, Style, Home, Heritage, Bespoke, Colour and Bentley.

Business

To ensure no compromise is made on style at work and in business, an array of leather accessories is available in the Business collection.

The Continental range of leather bags has been extended to include three exquisite accessories which ensure business travel is undertaken with confidence and flair; a briefcase in versions for both men and women and a weekender bag.

The Continental briefcase transforms Bentley design statements into a functional yet luxurious business item; two zipped pockets are arranged symmetrically on the main front panel, which has recognisable origins in the Bentley wings logo. Cross stitched handles echo the stitching seen on each Continental GT steering wheel, a tactile reminder of the inspiration behind the collection.

The ladies’ briefcase has been designed to complement the Barnato and Continental handbags, with a shape that combines the features of both a Boston bag and a briefcase.

The result is a spacious business case that can also be used as an overnight bag. The interior comprises two compartments, one for clothing and personal items, and another for business use. A central compartment provides easy yet secure access to wallets, phones and other essential items.

Soft travel bags are available individually or as a four piece luggage set, made specifically to stow easily in the Bentayga luggage compartment. These can be ordered either in Beluga or commissioned to match the interior leather on your car.

Style

The Style collection is inspired by Bentley’s unmistakable design language, taking high fashion concepts and translating them into Bentley items for practical daily use.

The range includes the much coveted Bentley Handbag collection. The Continental handbag, named after the iconic Bentley GT, is reinvented in a new, smaller size, which is introduced alongside the original Continental and Barnato handbags.

New colours refresh the collection for Autumn. Drawn from Bentley’s extended colour palette, Burnt Oak, Portland, and Dark Sapphire are subtle tones which provide a more muted yet luxurious colour palette with which to usher in the new season.

Also within the Style collection is a new range of scarves. The design showcases many design features and landmarks drawn from the world of Bentley which form an abstract print, and a sophisticated addition to any outfit.

Home

Luxurious home accessories in the finest materials bring Bentley style inside. An equestrian blanket crafted from cashmere forms one of the highlights. The blanket comes in hues of Camel and Portland to provide a cosy addition to any room, or alternatively the throw offers a stylish layer to take with you when attending the outdoor events of autumn.

A Bentley photo frame designed in Portland leather and chrome edging will make a stylish addition to any room, while the aroma of vintage leather can now be experienced with an ambience enhancing scented candle.

A unique handmade desk clock, crafted by the experts at Breitling in Piano Black, joins the Burr Walnut desk clock in the Collection, and is evocative of the craftsmanship seen within a Bentley.

Colour

For Bentley customers exterior paint choice is only limited by their imagination. For the Bentley Collection the 120 colours in Bentley’s extended paint palette have inspired a striking range of handcrafted clothing, leather goods and accessories.

Neptune, Moroccan Blue, Magenta, Portland and Highland Hare are among the most popular Bentley hues, some classic, others which never fail to draw a second glance, and have been interpreted in a range of polo shirts, down jackets, and other useful items such as travel pouches, coin trays and luggage tags.

Attention to detail is paramount throughout, and can be seen through the reproduction of the matrix grille pattern inside collars and cuffs of the clothes, an extension of the ethos that the details you don’t see are as important as those you do.

Heritage

The Heritage collection celebrates Bentley’s rich history. The spirit and flair of the Bentley Boys in the 1920s provides endless inspiration.

The choice of colours and materials in the heritage collection has been informed by these years, quintessentially British shades such as Racing Green and Dark Sapphire are used, while a modern interpretation of Tim Birkin’s own ‘Birkin Spot’ motif accents the range.

Inspiring items in the heritage collection include a weekender race bag and a race back pack, both a functional and stylish interpretation of the heritage theme. Both accessories feature the number nine – a number with special significance for Bentley. It was used to identify what became one of the most famous Bentleys ever built: the supercharged 4.5 Litre ‘Blower’ that Bentley Boy Tim Birkin drove at Le Mans in 1930.

The Blower is seen again in scarf form, which features the famous racer in luxurious cashmere, resulting in a stylish accessory for the modern day Bentley aficionado.

Bentley

Since the company was founded in 1919 Bentley has been a magnet for motor enthusiasts of all kinds. While some will become Bentley owners themselves, there are many for whom the brand’s history, its cars and the success of its present day motorsport teams are every bit as important as the ownership of a luxury car.

To celebrate the launch of Bentayga, precision crafted scale models have been created, each exquisitely made in colours that match the real cars – exclusive to the Bentley Collection.

Three 1:43 scale models are available. Dark Sapphire and Glacier White are limited to only one thousand units, while a Bentayga Bronze version, exactly matching the launch model at Frankfurt Motor Show, is limited to only 250 models. All will be available alongside the Bentayga at Frankfurt IAA.

The largest and most detailed model, a 1:18 version in Extreme Silver, is also limited to a run of one thousand and will be available from November.

Bentley Collection items are available globally from Bentley dealers from October 1, or alternatively online atwww.bentleycollection.com.

FRANKFURT - Bentley GT V8 S

  • GT V8 S coupe and convertible take centre stage in Frankfurt
  • Flying Spur W12 showcases latest Bentley technology
  • Mulsanne flagship completes vehicle line-up
  • New Bentley luxury leather goods collections

Bentley adds a characterful new member to the Continental family with the world premiere of the new GT V8 S at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show. Available in both coupe and convertible forms, the V8 S models feature an uprated version of Bentley’s twin-turbo, 4.0-litre engine that now develops 521 bhp (528 PS / 389 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb.ft) of torque together with careful suspension modifications and a selection of new exterior and interior features. Complementing these two dynamic new models in Frankfurt is the pinnacle of Bentley luxury in the form of the flagship Mulsanne and the all-new four-door sedan Flying Spur.

Dr Wolfgang Schreiber, Chairman and Chief Executive of Bentley Motors, comments:

“Our new V8 S models are an exciting addition to the Continental family. The increased power and torque combined with dynamically-focussed suspension sharpen the performance capabilities of our V8 grand tourers with no compromise to the luxury and quality that all Bentleys typify. These are cars with huge character and agility, enhanced even further by a distinctive V8 soundtrack.”

A distinctive and dynamic new Continental

Building on the success of the acclaimed Continental GT V8, the new V8 S models feature a more powerful version of Bentley’s 4-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine developing 521 bhp (528 PS / 389 KW) at 6,000 rev/min and an immense peak torque of 680 Nm (502 lb.ft) at a mere 1,700 rev/min. An 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and Bentley all-wheel drive system with 40:60 rear-biased torque split ensures effortless delivery of the increased power, providing exhilarating yet smooth performance. The GT V8 S coupe sprints from 0-60 mph in just 4.3 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.5s) and onto a top speed of 192 mph (309 km/h). The performance of the GT V8 S convertible is equally impressive, reaching 60 mph from a standing start in 4.5 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.7s) and a top speed of 191mph (308km/h). This increased performance is not at the cost of the efficient engine’s fuel economy capabilities, with both coupe and convertible able to cover over 500 miles (805 km) on a single tank of fuel.

A suite of enhancements to the Continental chassis provide greater agility and body control to match the engine’s higher output, whilst maintaining the car’s renowned ride comfort and refinement. A more sporting setup sees ride height lowered by 10 mm front and rear while spring rates, bushes and the rear anti-roll bar are stiffened. Recalibrated damping, steering and ESC complete the package for an exhilarating and involving driving experience.

Sharp and stylish design touches are introduced to match the new models’ enhanced sporting pace. A package of lower-body styling features accents the purposeful stance offered by the lowered suspension through an aerodynamic front splitter, discrete side sills and elegant rear diffuser, all finished in Beluga gloss black. New signature 20-inch wheels are exclusive to the V8 S models, and feature an open-spoke design that provides a clear view of red-painted brake calipers. “V8 S” fender badges complete the understated but sporting appearance. The visual appeal of the new car is matched by a stunning V8 exhaust note that can be amplified further with an optional new sports exhaust.

Inside, the cabin of the V8 S models presents a thoroughly modern interpretation of Bentley luxury. Available with a range of striking duo-tone interiors, customers select interior trim from the full range of seventeen hide colours. The GT V8 S coupe also features a unique contrast centre stripe for the hide-trimmed roof lining, matched to the colour of the main hide. Knurled chrome detailing to the gearshift lever and ventilation controls provides a perfect contrast to Piano Black veneers, while discreet “V8 S” badges are displayed on each sill tread plate.

The new GT V8 S coupe and convertible arrive in Bentley dealerships from early 2014.

Bentley’s all-new luxury performance sedan

With its unrivalled blend of effortless driveability, exquisite luxury and craftsmanship, sculpted design and state-of-the-art technology, the new Flying Spur continues its successful market introduction following its global debut in March this year.

Behind the athletic exterior design and immaculate interior application of luxurious leather and wood lie a host of advanced acoustic and electronic technologies. A bespoke hand-held Touch Screen Remote allows rear-cabin occupants to control an extensive range of features from the comfort of their seat. With an optional Rear Seat Entertainment suite including two 10” LCD screens, DVD players, wireless headphones and an on-board hard-drive jukebox, plus the options of full Wi-Fi connectivity and an 1100W Naim for Bentley premium sound system, the new Flying Spur is the perfect place for work or relaxation on the move.

Powered by Bentley’s renowned 6.0-litre, twin turbo W12 engine, the new Flying Spur features more power than any other Bentley four-door in history with 625 PS (616 bhp) and 800 Nm of torque. A 14 per cent improvement in the power-to-weight ratio over the previous generation Flying Spur ensures a remarkable 0-60 mph time of 4.3 seconds and a top-speed of 200 mph (322 km/h).

A pinnacle specification for the Bentley flagship

Completing the prestigious line-up in Frankfurt is the Bentley Mulsanne, presented with the very latest specifications. A range of new luxury features has been added to the Bentley flagship for 2013, offering a new suite of entertainment and communication system options. The Comfort Specification, including cossetting headrests, comfortable footrests and soft duck down filled loose cushions has been introduced to reaffirm the Mulsanne’s reputation as a truly bespoke grand tourer.

Meanwhile, the Entertainment Specification incorporates the latest in-car technologies to transform the rear cabin in to a luxurious office or cinema, complete with picnic tables designed for an iPad and wireless keyboard, and an on-board Wi-Fi router. The Entertainment Specification is further enhanced with twin, eight inch LCD headrest screens, incorporating a 20 GB hard drive and DVD player, played through a ‘Naim for Bentley’ premium audio system, while two sets of Bluetooth headphones and a dedicated remote control allows comfortable enjoyment of the system.

Other additions include three new paint options, extending the Mulsanne palette, and new bespoke fitted luggage.

European premiere for new luxury leather goods

Bentley’s new luxury capsule Handbag Collection also makes its European debut at Frankfurt. Unveiled at the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August, the new collection is a reflection of the essential values for which Bentley is renowned worldwide: an exquisite design aesthetic, highly skilled craftsmanship, attention to detail and dynamic performance. The Bentley Handbag Collection transfers the functional luxury of our cars into an accessory that women can cherish.

Available from October 2013, the Collection features two distinct models – The Barnato and The Continental – and both draw inspiration from styling elements from the Bentley model range. The partnership will offer rare pieces using the finest materials and finished of wood, leather, steel and glass.

HOW MUCH for a F***ing handbag, you gotta be joking ? Bentley aint joking !

  • Unique high luxury limited edition collection
  • Two handbag models open a new chapter in Bentley experience for female customers and enthusiasts
  • Elegant and sculptural handbags showcase Bentley expertise in design and craftsmanship
  • Practical performance combined with unmatched levels of features, finishes and functionality

Today Bentley Motors announces the launch of the Bentley Handbag Collection at the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the world’s premier event for automotive enthusiasts and connoisseurs of culture.

The launch marks the realisation of a project which is unique in the automotive industry, a reflection of the essential values for which Bentley is renowned worldwide: an exquisite design aesthetic, highly skilled craftsmanship, attention to detail and dynamic performance. The Bentley Handbag Collection transfers the functional luxury of our cars into an accessory that women can cherish.

Dr Ariane Reinhart, Member of the Bentley Board for HR, has spearheaded this star lifestyle venture to introduce more women to the brand and attract new female customers who share a passion for exclusive, high quality goods. “More than luxury vehicles, Bentley’s models today are capturing more and more women’s hearts through their elegant lines and flawless materials,” she comments. “As increasing numbers of women around the world enjoy greater professional success and economic status, so have they developed a taste for refined, exclusive products.”

The Collection features two distinct models – The Barnato and The Continental.

The Barnato is named after Diana Barnato, socialite daughter of Woolf Barnato, one of the original ‘Bentley Boys’ and chairman of the company.  She was an experienced Bentley driver and an accomplished aviatrix.  Diana was the first British woman to break the sound barrier and always portrayed both daring and glamour in equal measure.

The Continental is named for one of Bentley’s famed model lines, used on successive generations of Grand Tourers since 1952 and the underpinning of the brand’s current success since the two-door Continental GT coupe was launched in 2003.

Dr Reinhart adds: “Just as the Bentley Boys are our historical racing heroes, and an iconic part of the brand, today there is an emerging culture of confident and successful women, ‘Bentley Girls’, with the same adventurous spirit. We are creating this luxurious and stylish handbag series to appeal exclusively to these modern women.”

Bentley’s Head of Product Design, Daniele Ceccomori, has worked closely with renowned luxury leather bag designer and expert craftsman Vincent du Sartel to bring to life a wholly feminine interpretation of Bentley’s design concepts, highlighting the brand’s contemporary elements. “With the actual design of the handbags we wanted to create a strong link with some of the key features on our cars,” says Ceccomori.

“Starting with the exterior profile and volume, we have drawn inspiration from the iconic shape present on the rear aspect of the boot lid of the car; the split side panels echo the wing-shaped buttresses of the interior dashboard and help to enhance dynamism and elegance, allowing to play with different material and colour finishes, a classic Bentley bespoke feature.”

Inside, the handbags’ unique level of features and finishes are offered to evoke the same exact impression of when stepping inside a Bentley; they are exclusively lined all in fine leather with quilting features and functional compartments, including a waterproof pouch, elegantly blending core Bentley aesthetic values with everyday functionality and practicality, like a Bentley car.

Extensive attention has been dedicated to the execution of the details; the metal furniture with the typical knurled signature finish enhances luxury and the sense of craftsmanship unique only to the world of jewellery, in true Bentley style. To highlight the unique nature of the handbags each will contain a metal plaque that commemorates its individual number in the limited edition series, with the option to have this personalised to the owner and their car.

The Bentley Handbag Collection is available from October 2013.  This limited edition collection comprises 160 bags globally, 80 of each style, in four colourways. This palette of options will be expanded in 2014 to include new models.  Further information can be found at www.bentleyhandbagcollection.com
