The Peugeot 308 gets a mid life makeover bringing it into line with the rest of the new range.

  • New PEUGEOT 308, 308 SW and 308 GTi by PEUGEOT SPORT incorporate new infotainment and safety technology
  • All-new powertrains boost performance and efficiency
  • Enhanced trim, colours and wheel designs complete revised exterior styling
The New PEUGEOT 308, due to hit UK roads in September, is the most connected and safest yet with a range of technology and styling enhancements for the 2018 model year.
In a class driven by connectivity, New PEUGEOT 308 customers benefit from a 9.7” capacitive touchscreen which puts the key functions of the interior safely at the fingertips of the driver. From dual zone climate control to 3D Connected Navigation with TomTom Live updates.
The new infotainment system incorporates Mirror Screen®, comprising Mirrolink®, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto functionality, allowing the seamless integration of smartphone functions with the interface, ensuring drivers safely access functions as required.
Driving aids make New PEUGEOT 308 one of the safest cars in its class
Benefitting from all of the driving aids of the globally acclaimed all-new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV, PEUGEOT’s family hatchback and SW now offer intelligent Speed Limit Recognition, Adaptive Cruise Control, with stop functionality and an Active Blind Spot Monitoring System.
PEUGEOT’s Speed Limit Recognition offers a new level of intelligence. A windscreen-located camera reads speed limit signs and displays them on the car’s dashboard. Signs for specific vehicles, such as HGVs, are filtered from the information feed.
The option of Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop function detects vehicles in front of the car and adjusts the speed automatically using the brakes to retain a safe distance. An Active Blind Spot Monitoring System also alerts the driver to the presence of another vehicle in the blind spot to avoid any potential danger. City Park, a smart park assist system completes the safety and convenience offering.
New Euro 6 compliant petrol and diesel engines
Under the bonnet, the New PEUGEOT 308 offers a new range of engines which are all compliant with strict Euro 6 regulations. The award winning three-cylinder PureTech petrol engine has been upgraded for the new model year, and is coupled with a new six-speed manual gearbox for improved efficiency and control. At-exhaust emission controls on the engine are designed for efficient pollution reduction; high-precision injection control on the 1.2L PureTech 130 Stop&Start engine enhances combustion efficiency: exhaust gases pass through a catalytic converter followed by a passive-regeneration particle filter.
The New PEUGEOT 308 is also the first PSA Group model to adopt the new 1.5L BlueHDi 130 S&S diesel engine, a four-cylinder unit that also implements at-source and at-exhaust emission control. Tested under competition conditions at the 24-hour Le Mans event, the engine also adds an SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) pollution control system.
The new eight-speed automatic transmission coupled with the 2.0L BlueHDi 180 Stop&Start completes the new engine range, while the New PEUGEOT 308 GTi by PEUGEOT SPORT is powered by a 270 PS THP Stop&Start unit, enabling 0-62 mph in just 6.0 seconds with CO2 emissions of just 139g/km.
Enhanced exterior and interior trim
On the inside, new seat fabrics for Active and Allure trims enhance the comfortable interior, and all New 308 models benefit from the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® layout with its trademark compact steering wheel. On the inside the cabin is further enhanced with the inclusion of a panoramic fixed cielo glass roof on Allure, GT Line and GT versions.
Externally, the PEUGEOT trademark styling details have been revised for a sharper look. The distinctive rear ‘Claw Effect' lights are now standard, while the front and rear bumpers and headlights have been re-shaped to echo the family look of the all-new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV.
Drivers looking to make a real design statement can now specify the PEUGEOT 308 GTi by PEUGEOT SPORT in two-tone Coupe Franche in Magnetic Blue and Black Perla Nera.
David Peel, Managing Director at PEUGEOT UK commented: “The New PEUGEOT 308 is now more competitive than ever. The new car adds to an already impressive technology offering, while new styling and interior options bolster the car’s kerbside appeal and bring it in line with the new PEUGEOT SUV family”.
“PEUGEOT’s commitment to developing class-leading engine technology is also highlighted by the presence of the new versions of the award-winning PureTech and BlueHDi engines. The blend of performance and economy finishes a unique package for the keen driver.”
The New PEUGEOT 308 and 308 SW will be available to order this summer with the first deliveries in September. Customers will be able to configure and buy their new car using PEUGEOT’s Order Online facility.

Peugoet launches the new updated 308 with visual and technological chnages to improve an already greta car.

  • New PEUGEOT 308 boasts striking new styling and latest powertrains
  • Also packs unprecedented levels of connectivity thanks to i-Cockpit® touchscreen
  • The new PEUGEOT 308 is available for delivery from September onwards
PEUGEOT has revealed the latest generation of the 308 – its boldest and most high-tech model yet. With a raft of changes, including sharpened styling and the very latest in highly efficient powertrains and touchscreen connectivity, the car is now an even more compelling option.
Available for delivery from September onwards, the new-generation 308, available in hatch, SW and GTi features sleek exterior cues with an assertive new vertical grille and LED daytime running lights (DRLs) for all models. Inside, the integration of PEUGEOT’s i-Cockpit® interior layout means owners can enjoy a capacitive touchscreen, offering connected 3D satnav and new graphics.
Highly applauded at launch for its safety, the new PEUGEOT 308 builds on its predecessor’s five-star Euro NCAP rating with improved safety technology. All models can now be specified with the advanced driver assistance systems found on the all-New PEUGEOT 3008 SUV.
Meanwhile, under the skin, power and efficiency go hand-in-hand thanks to a line-up of the very latest powertrains, including a new 1.5 BlueHDi 130 Stop&Start engine and a new eight-speed automatic transmission coupled with the BlueHDi 180 Stop&Start engine.
Stand-out premium styling

Regardless of body style or trim level the new PEUGEOT 308 stands out with perfectly balanced proportions. The sleek new bonnet meets the vertical grille, with central Lion badge and the PEUGEOT name sculpted into the upper trim, while new elliptical headlights come with integrated DRL LEDs to produce a distinctive front light signature.

Other design-led changes include a new front bumper with three generous lower grille openings, to ensure effective engine cooling, while the rear lamps show a proud three-claw light signature night and day. And with its short front and rear overhangs the new PEUGEOT 308 keeps its reputation for excellent manoeuvrability. Allure, GT Line and GT all feature a large glass roof as standard.
Latest generation connectivity and driver assistance systems

The new PEUGEOT 308 boasts seamless in-car connectivity thanks to the i-Cockpit®, which includes Mirror Screen, a triple-play system which duplicates the user’s smartphone on the vehicle’s touchscreen, compatible with MirrorLink®, Android Auto® and Apple CarplayTM protocols. The rapid-response new 3D satnav system with voice control is connected to the TomTom® Traffic realtime traffic monitoring service, enabling motorists to optimise their journeys by factoring in actual traffic conditions.
Extended driver assistance runs to eight latest-generation systems, including Active Safety Brake and Active Lane Departure Warning and adaptive cruise control, including a stop function (with automatic transmission), or a 19mph function (with manual transmission).
For the utmost in parking convenience, the new PEUGEOT 308 uses Visiopark 1 with 180° rear camera and the Park Assist function, which measures the parking space available and automatically steers the car in and out.
Efficient new powertrains

The new PEUGEOT 308 is powered by a choice of highly efficient petrol and diesel engines offering an ideal compromise between high performance and low fuel consumption.
The three-cylinder petrol engine has undergone a major upgrade, with at-source and at-exhaust emission control for low real-life fuel consumption and even more efficient pollution reduction. High-precision injection control on the PureTech 130 Stop&Start engine enhances combustion efficiency: exhaust gases go through a catalytic converter then a passive-regeneration gasoline particle filter. A new six-speed manual gearbox reaps maximum benefit.
The new PEUGEOT 308 is the first PSA Group model to get the new BlueHDi 130 S&S Diesel engine, a four-cylinder unit that also implements at-source and at-exhaust emission control. Combustion efficiency is improved by a patented combustion chamber design, the efficacy of which was amply proven under competition conditions in the 24-hour Le Mans event. Further efficiency gains are afforded by the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) pollution control system, fitted as close as possible to the engine for the fastest possible post-treatment action.
The BlueHDi 180 Stop&Start Diesel engine, exclusive to the New PEUGEOT 308 GT, is available with a new-generation EAT8 automatic transmission, which has been developed with Japanese specialists Aisin. A new eight-speed unit featuring slick, smooth, linear response, plus Stop&Start capability from 12mph, this powerful and highly efficient powertrain offers a rapid and direct driving experience.
PEUGEOT is one of the first automakers to anticipate an introduction of the Euro 6.c standard, consistent with the PSA Group’s advocacy of measures to ensure customers have access to independent, certified information on actual fuel consumption under real-life driving conditions. From September 2018, Real Driving Emissions (RDE) must not exceed 2.1 times the certification figures.
David Peel, Managing Director at PEUGEOT UK, commented: “The new PEUGEOT 308 offers the complete package for car buyers, fusing eye-catching styling, the latest in-car connectivity and up-to-the-minute powertrains.”
“Across the board, we’ve enhanced the 308’s unique personality with a strong and high-tech look, and that feeling has been applied inside too with features such as the i-Cockpit® bringing seamless connectivity, as well as driver assistance systems that help to take the stress out of driving. Factor in a range of new, highly efficient powertrains, including an eight-speed automatic, and the new PEUGEOT 308 adds up to a compelling package.”
The New PEUGEOT 308, new PEUGEOT 308 SW and the new PEUGEOT 308 GTi are available for UK delivery from September.

The PSA Group invests €200 Million in the "SOCHAUX 2022" Modernisation project.

  • An investment calibrated to the right level to modernise this historical site and ensure its sustainability
  • The acquisition of a new press line, a first in France for 20 years.
  • Improvements to logistic flows with the construction of a new stamping building
  • A versatile multi-silhouette line allowing production of up to six different bodies
  • Over 60,000 training hours to support this project and significant improvements to work station ergonomics
With "Sochaux 2022", a project that has mobilised a dedicated multi-skilled team on the Sochaux site in Eastern France for the last 36 months, the PSA Group shows its ambition to turn the site into a benchmark plant, at the heart of its historical homeland.
This strategic project aims to simplify flows, inherited from over 100 years of industrial history, that do not currently allow Sochaux to reach its full potential compared to the other PSA Group Industrial sites.
Restoring coherence to building locations will reduce loading and unloading: Sochaux currently is a complex production site, extending over 200 hectares, including 24 kilometres of conveyor belts, and mobilising dozens of trucks to move vehicle sub-assemblies in production.
At the end of this transformation project, Sochaux will be able to meet changing customer expectations thanks to a highly-flexible multi-silhouette line, able to produce six different silhouettes, with a production capacity of 400,000 vehicles per year, exceeding the average of the last 10 years.
This new large transfer press line is the first acquired in France in the last two decades. This new line will be high speed and cutting edge technology, able to build multiple parts and to produce both steel and aluminium parts.
Sochaux's modernisation will also include the setting-up of a versatile, extremely flexible body-assembly workshop, capable of processing the whole diversity of the site's production, and the installation of an assembly workshop, meeting the highest world standards, closer to the other production buildings. This assembly workshop will be built to the highest standards.
Designed according to the principles of the plant of the future, Sochaux will take advantage of the latest developments in terms of digital tools, full kitting logistics, and mobile operator platforms for better ergonomics and optimum levels of quality. The workshops, designed for the 21st century, will be better organised, to meet the highest standards in ergonomics for the men and women that work there.
The transformations planned as part of the "Sochaux 2022" project will bring the principles of the "excellent plant" programme to the industrial birthplace of the PSA Group and safeguard its future, thanks to a high level of performance.
For Maxime Picat, Executive Vice President, Operational Director Europe: "Today, Sochaux produces emblematic cars for the PSA Group, including the new Peugeot 3008 which has been a huge commercial success, and will begin to manufacture vehicles for the Opel brand. I know that I can count on the professionalism and unwavering commitment of all the employees at our historical site - with whom I have had the chance to work - to continue to meet the current and future expectations of our customers."
For Yann Vincent, Executive Vice President, Director Supply Chain and Manufacturing: "The ‘Sochaux 2022, the car draws itself a future’ project perfectly translates the PSA Group's desire to write its industrial future in France."

Fiat Ireland will re-enter the popular C Segment when the all-new Fiat Tipo Hatchback and Station Wagon go on sale next month with prices starting from €17,995.
The all-new Fiat Tipo hatchback and Station Wagon both offer exceptional roominess, high specification, robust quality and outstanding efficiency, not to mention its stylish Italian flair.
The new Fiat Tipo hatchback is deceptively roomy, and capable of accommodating three six-feet-plus adult passengers in the rear - thanks to class-leading legroom and outstanding headroom - within its 4.37m long, 1.79m wide and 1.50m tall dimensions.

Its boot capacity is also best-in-class with a volume of 440 litres, while the Station Wagon version adds an additional 110 litres of boot space which, at 550 litres, is also class leading. The Station Wagon can also carry loads of up to 1.8m in length courtesy of an extra 20cm (4.57m) and its flip-and-fold 60/40 split rear seats provide a completely flat load floor. The Station Wagon body style has a height of 1.51m thanks to the standard-fit longitudinal roof bars.
Loading the boot of the Station Wagon is aided by a low load sill with reconfigurable components such as an adjustable load floor and removable side storage panels to further increase the width of the luggage compartment. The roller cover can conveniently be removed with one hand and stored under the floor panel, while two lights, two bag hooks and four load-retaining hooks positioned on the floor provide added convenience.
The Fiat Tipo features numerous cabin compartments with a variety of shapes and capacities totalling no less than 12 litres. Easily reachable by driver and passengers, these compartments are perfect for storing personal objects, smartphones, game consoles, bottles, coins and much more, and there is also a USB port for charging and connecting devices. Maximum comfort is assured by the excellent driving ergonomics and the convenient arrangement of the secondary controls which can be reached easily without the driver having to take their eyes off the road.
In terms of the model range, both the Hatchback and Station Wagon will be offered in three trim levels in keeping with other models in the Fiat Functional Family – Pop, Easy and Lounge.
The Pop trim level is equipped with air conditioning, remote central locking, front and rear electric windows, body-coloured door mirrors with electric adjustment, six airbags, chrome door handles, split rear seats, a front seat centre arm rest, full size spare wheel, USB and Bluetooth connectivity with steering wheel remote controls. The Station Wagon adds longitudinal roof bars.
Key options for the Pop version include front fog lights (€150), dark tinted rear windows (€175), 16-inch alloy wheels (€500), rear parking sensors (€250) and a five-inch Uconnect touchscreen system with Live services, DAB and satellite navigation (€800).
The Easy trim level adds a five-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and gear knob, LED daytime running lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights, rear parking sensors and cruise control. The price for the Easy trim level trim is currently set at the same price (€17,995) as the entry level Pop by way of a consumer offer for Q1, offering exceptional content, value for money and making it easier for customers to choose the best Tipo for their needs and budget.
Also included with the Easy version are the Uconnect LIVE services, which combines with a smartphone app (available via App Store or Google Play) to offer music streaming with Deezer and TuneIn, news from Reuters and the ability to stay in touch with friends via Facebook Check-in and Twitter, not to mention monitoring vehicle performance, efficiency and maintenance status with eco:Drive and my:Car.
Key options for this trim level include a satellite navigation upgrade (just €500), reversing camera (€250) and Comfort Pack (climate control, driver’s side lumbar adjustment and rear arm rest at €750). Two Safety Packs are available, with Safety Pack B offering a speed limiter and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) for €250 and Safety Pack A adding adaptive cruise control (ACC) in addition to the speed limiter and AEB for €600. Safety Pack A is not available with the Pop trim level or 1.4-litre engine.
The Lounge trim level, which is priced just €1,250 above the equivalent Easy version, builds on the specification of the mid-range Tipo but adds satellite navigation with TomTom LIVE services including HD Traffic, climate control, 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic lights and wipers, rear view camera, driver’s side lumbar support and a chrome pack all as standard. Key options include leather upholstery with heated seats (€1,000) and Safety Packs A (€600) and B (€250).
The engine range comprises five engines in total. There are three petrol engines, a 1.4-litre 16v producing 95hp and 127Nm, a 1.4 T-Jet turbo petrol with 120hp and 206Nm and the 1.6-litre e-TorQ engine producing 110hp and 152Nm (combined exclusively to a six-speed, torque converter automatic transmission) and two turbo diesel engines – a 1.3-litre MultiJet II producing 95hp and 200Nm and a 1.6-litre MultiJet II with an output of 120hp and 320Nm.
The entry-level 1.4-litre 16v FIRE delivers 95hp at 6,000 rpm and 127Nm at 4,500 rpm and is equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. It is capable of accelerating the Fiat Tipo Hatchback from  standstill to 100km/h in 12.1 seconds (12.3 for the Station Wagon) and on to a top speed of 185kph (both body styles). Prices for the 1.4 T-Jet start at just €19,245 for the Hatchback (mid Easy trim) and €20,495 for the Station Wagon (mid Easy trim).
For customers seeking an automatic petrol car, the 1.6-litre E-torQ petrol engine has been combined exclusively with a torque-converter six-speed automatic transmission for smooth shifting, minimal maintenance and greater refinement. Producing 110hp at 5,500rpm and 152Nm of torque at 4,500rpm, it can accelerate the Fiat Tipo from 0-100kph in just 11.5 seconds (11.7 seconds for the SW) and on to a top speed of 192kph (both body styles). An official combined cycle economy figure of 44.8mpg and emissions of 147g/km applies to both body styles.
The 1.3-litre MultiJet II 95hp engine combines strong performance with extremely low running costs, thanks to its variable geometry turbo charger and third-generation Common Rail MultiJet II injection system. It is equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox and Start & Stop as standard, and develops 95hp at 3,750rpm and 200Nm from 1,500 rpm. The top diesel engine in the range is the 1.6 MultiJet II 120hp unit and in the Tipo it is combined with a six-speed manual gearbox or Fiat’s new DDCT six-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. It produces 120hp at 3,750rpm and 320Nm at 1,750rpm and the manual model is capable of accelerating to 62kph from a rest in 9.8 seconds (10.1 in the SW), while the top speed, official combined cycle fuel consumption figure and CO2 emissions are the same for both bodies – 199kph, 76.3mpg and 98g/km respectively.
The Fiat Tipo was designed in Italy by the Fiat Style Centre, developed in Turkey together with TofaÅŸ R&D, one of FCA's largest research and development centres, and made in the TofaÅŸ plant in Bursa – one of the world's best automotive factories, which has received a World Class Manufacturing Gold Medal.
Since its world première at the Istanbul Motor Show in May 2015 and its presentation to the international press last November, the Fiat Tipo has collected the prestigious Autobest "Best Buy Car 2016" award, chosen by a jury of 26 international journalists.
