Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

The Peugeot 308 gets a mid life makeover bringing it into line with the rest of the new range.

  • New PEUGEOT 308, 308 SW and 308 GTi by PEUGEOT SPORT incorporate new infotainment and safety technology
  • All-new powertrains boost performance and efficiency
  • Enhanced trim, colours and wheel designs complete revised exterior styling
The New PEUGEOT 308, due to hit UK roads in September, is the most connected and safest yet with a range of technology and styling enhancements for the 2018 model year.
In a class driven by connectivity, New PEUGEOT 308 customers benefit from a 9.7” capacitive touchscreen which puts the key functions of the interior safely at the fingertips of the driver. From dual zone climate control to 3D Connected Navigation with TomTom Live updates.
The new infotainment system incorporates Mirror Screen®, comprising Mirrolink®, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto functionality, allowing the seamless integration of smartphone functions with the interface, ensuring drivers safely access functions as required.
Driving aids make New PEUGEOT 308 one of the safest cars in its class
Benefitting from all of the driving aids of the globally acclaimed all-new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV, PEUGEOT’s family hatchback and SW now offer intelligent Speed Limit Recognition, Adaptive Cruise Control, with stop functionality and an Active Blind Spot Monitoring System.
PEUGEOT’s Speed Limit Recognition offers a new level of intelligence. A windscreen-located camera reads speed limit signs and displays them on the car’s dashboard. Signs for specific vehicles, such as HGVs, are filtered from the information feed.
The option of Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop function detects vehicles in front of the car and adjusts the speed automatically using the brakes to retain a safe distance. An Active Blind Spot Monitoring System also alerts the driver to the presence of another vehicle in the blind spot to avoid any potential danger. City Park, a smart park assist system completes the safety and convenience offering.
New Euro 6 compliant petrol and diesel engines
Under the bonnet, the New PEUGEOT 308 offers a new range of engines which are all compliant with strict Euro 6 regulations. The award winning three-cylinder PureTech petrol engine has been upgraded for the new model year, and is coupled with a new six-speed manual gearbox for improved efficiency and control. At-exhaust emission controls on the engine are designed for efficient pollution reduction; high-precision injection control on the 1.2L PureTech 130 Stop&Start engine enhances combustion efficiency: exhaust gases pass through a catalytic converter followed by a passive-regeneration particle filter.
The New PEUGEOT 308 is also the first PSA Group model to adopt the new 1.5L BlueHDi 130 S&S diesel engine, a four-cylinder unit that also implements at-source and at-exhaust emission control. Tested under competition conditions at the 24-hour Le Mans event, the engine also adds an SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) pollution control system.
The new eight-speed automatic transmission coupled with the 2.0L BlueHDi 180 Stop&Start completes the new engine range, while the New PEUGEOT 308 GTi by PEUGEOT SPORT is powered by a 270 PS THP Stop&Start unit, enabling 0-62 mph in just 6.0 seconds with CO2 emissions of just 139g/km.
Enhanced exterior and interior trim
On the inside, new seat fabrics for Active and Allure trims enhance the comfortable interior, and all New 308 models benefit from the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® layout with its trademark compact steering wheel. On the inside the cabin is further enhanced with the inclusion of a panoramic fixed cielo glass roof on Allure, GT Line and GT versions.
Externally, the PEUGEOT trademark styling details have been revised for a sharper look. The distinctive rear ‘Claw Effect' lights are now standard, while the front and rear bumpers and headlights have been re-shaped to echo the family look of the all-new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV.
Drivers looking to make a real design statement can now specify the PEUGEOT 308 GTi by PEUGEOT SPORT in two-tone Coupe Franche in Magnetic Blue and Black Perla Nera.
David Peel, Managing Director at PEUGEOT UK commented: “The New PEUGEOT 308 is now more competitive than ever. The new car adds to an already impressive technology offering, while new styling and interior options bolster the car’s kerbside appeal and bring it in line with the new PEUGEOT SUV family”.
“PEUGEOT’s commitment to developing class-leading engine technology is also highlighted by the presence of the new versions of the award-winning PureTech and BlueHDi engines. The blend of performance and economy finishes a unique package for the keen driver.”
The New PEUGEOT 308 and 308 SW will be available to order this summer with the first deliveries in September. Customers will be able to configure and buy their new car using PEUGEOT’s Order Online facility.

Peugoet launches the new updated 308 with visual and technological chnages to improve an already greta car.

  • New PEUGEOT 308 boasts striking new styling and latest powertrains
  • Also packs unprecedented levels of connectivity thanks to i-Cockpit® touchscreen
  • The new PEUGEOT 308 is available for delivery from September onwards
PEUGEOT has revealed the latest generation of the 308 – its boldest and most high-tech model yet. With a raft of changes, including sharpened styling and the very latest in highly efficient powertrains and touchscreen connectivity, the car is now an even more compelling option.
Available for delivery from September onwards, the new-generation 308, available in hatch, SW and GTi features sleek exterior cues with an assertive new vertical grille and LED daytime running lights (DRLs) for all models. Inside, the integration of PEUGEOT’s i-Cockpit® interior layout means owners can enjoy a capacitive touchscreen, offering connected 3D satnav and new graphics.
Highly applauded at launch for its safety, the new PEUGEOT 308 builds on its predecessor’s five-star Euro NCAP rating with improved safety technology. All models can now be specified with the advanced driver assistance systems found on the all-New PEUGEOT 3008 SUV.
Meanwhile, under the skin, power and efficiency go hand-in-hand thanks to a line-up of the very latest powertrains, including a new 1.5 BlueHDi 130 Stop&Start engine and a new eight-speed automatic transmission coupled with the BlueHDi 180 Stop&Start engine.
Stand-out premium styling

Regardless of body style or trim level the new PEUGEOT 308 stands out with perfectly balanced proportions. The sleek new bonnet meets the vertical grille, with central Lion badge and the PEUGEOT name sculpted into the upper trim, while new elliptical headlights come with integrated DRL LEDs to produce a distinctive front light signature.

Other design-led changes include a new front bumper with three generous lower grille openings, to ensure effective engine cooling, while the rear lamps show a proud three-claw light signature night and day. And with its short front and rear overhangs the new PEUGEOT 308 keeps its reputation for excellent manoeuvrability. Allure, GT Line and GT all feature a large glass roof as standard.
Latest generation connectivity and driver assistance systems

The new PEUGEOT 308 boasts seamless in-car connectivity thanks to the i-Cockpit®, which includes Mirror Screen, a triple-play system which duplicates the user’s smartphone on the vehicle’s touchscreen, compatible with MirrorLink®, Android Auto® and Apple CarplayTM protocols. The rapid-response new 3D satnav system with voice control is connected to the TomTom® Traffic realtime traffic monitoring service, enabling motorists to optimise their journeys by factoring in actual traffic conditions.
Extended driver assistance runs to eight latest-generation systems, including Active Safety Brake and Active Lane Departure Warning and adaptive cruise control, including a stop function (with automatic transmission), or a 19mph function (with manual transmission).
For the utmost in parking convenience, the new PEUGEOT 308 uses Visiopark 1 with 180° rear camera and the Park Assist function, which measures the parking space available and automatically steers the car in and out.
Efficient new powertrains

The new PEUGEOT 308 is powered by a choice of highly efficient petrol and diesel engines offering an ideal compromise between high performance and low fuel consumption.
The three-cylinder petrol engine has undergone a major upgrade, with at-source and at-exhaust emission control for low real-life fuel consumption and even more efficient pollution reduction. High-precision injection control on the PureTech 130 Stop&Start engine enhances combustion efficiency: exhaust gases go through a catalytic converter then a passive-regeneration gasoline particle filter. A new six-speed manual gearbox reaps maximum benefit.
The new PEUGEOT 308 is the first PSA Group model to get the new BlueHDi 130 S&S Diesel engine, a four-cylinder unit that also implements at-source and at-exhaust emission control. Combustion efficiency is improved by a patented combustion chamber design, the efficacy of which was amply proven under competition conditions in the 24-hour Le Mans event. Further efficiency gains are afforded by the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) pollution control system, fitted as close as possible to the engine for the fastest possible post-treatment action.
The BlueHDi 180 Stop&Start Diesel engine, exclusive to the New PEUGEOT 308 GT, is available with a new-generation EAT8 automatic transmission, which has been developed with Japanese specialists Aisin. A new eight-speed unit featuring slick, smooth, linear response, plus Stop&Start capability from 12mph, this powerful and highly efficient powertrain offers a rapid and direct driving experience.
PEUGEOT is one of the first automakers to anticipate an introduction of the Euro 6.c standard, consistent with the PSA Group’s advocacy of measures to ensure customers have access to independent, certified information on actual fuel consumption under real-life driving conditions. From September 2018, Real Driving Emissions (RDE) must not exceed 2.1 times the certification figures.
David Peel, Managing Director at PEUGEOT UK, commented: “The new PEUGEOT 308 offers the complete package for car buyers, fusing eye-catching styling, the latest in-car connectivity and up-to-the-minute powertrains.”
“Across the board, we’ve enhanced the 308’s unique personality with a strong and high-tech look, and that feeling has been applied inside too with features such as the i-Cockpit® bringing seamless connectivity, as well as driver assistance systems that help to take the stress out of driving. Factor in a range of new, highly efficient powertrains, including an eight-speed automatic, and the new PEUGEOT 308 adds up to a compelling package.”
The New PEUGEOT 308, new PEUGEOT 308 SW and the new PEUGEOT 308 GTi are available for UK delivery from September.

The PSA Group invests €200 Million in the "SOCHAUX 2022" Modernisation project.

  • An investment calibrated to the right level to modernise this historical site and ensure its sustainability
  • The acquisition of a new press line, a first in France for 20 years.
  • Improvements to logistic flows with the construction of a new stamping building
  • A versatile multi-silhouette line allowing production of up to six different bodies
  • Over 60,000 training hours to support this project and significant improvements to work station ergonomics
With "Sochaux 2022", a project that has mobilised a dedicated multi-skilled team on the Sochaux site in Eastern France for the last 36 months, the PSA Group shows its ambition to turn the site into a benchmark plant, at the heart of its historical homeland.
This strategic project aims to simplify flows, inherited from over 100 years of industrial history, that do not currently allow Sochaux to reach its full potential compared to the other PSA Group Industrial sites.
Restoring coherence to building locations will reduce loading and unloading: Sochaux currently is a complex production site, extending over 200 hectares, including 24 kilometres of conveyor belts, and mobilising dozens of trucks to move vehicle sub-assemblies in production.
At the end of this transformation project, Sochaux will be able to meet changing customer expectations thanks to a highly-flexible multi-silhouette line, able to produce six different silhouettes, with a production capacity of 400,000 vehicles per year, exceeding the average of the last 10 years.
This new large transfer press line is the first acquired in France in the last two decades. This new line will be high speed and cutting edge technology, able to build multiple parts and to produce both steel and aluminium parts.
Sochaux's modernisation will also include the setting-up of a versatile, extremely flexible body-assembly workshop, capable of processing the whole diversity of the site's production, and the installation of an assembly workshop, meeting the highest world standards, closer to the other production buildings. This assembly workshop will be built to the highest standards.
Designed according to the principles of the plant of the future, Sochaux will take advantage of the latest developments in terms of digital tools, full kitting logistics, and mobile operator platforms for better ergonomics and optimum levels of quality. The workshops, designed for the 21st century, will be better organised, to meet the highest standards in ergonomics for the men and women that work there.
The transformations planned as part of the "Sochaux 2022" project will bring the principles of the "excellent plant" programme to the industrial birthplace of the PSA Group and safeguard its future, thanks to a high level of performance.
For Maxime Picat, Executive Vice President, Operational Director Europe: "Today, Sochaux produces emblematic cars for the PSA Group, including the new Peugeot 3008 which has been a huge commercial success, and will begin to manufacture vehicles for the Opel brand. I know that I can count on the professionalism and unwavering commitment of all the employees at our historical site - with whom I have had the chance to work - to continue to meet the current and future expectations of our customers."
For Yann Vincent, Executive Vice President, Director Supply Chain and Manufacturing: "The ‘Sochaux 2022, the car draws itself a future’ project perfectly translates the PSA Group's desire to write its industrial future in France."

Remember, Remember the 5th November, well, not for that, but the launch of the All-New Hot Hatch from Peugeot.

  • Full prices and specifications of eagerly-awaited flagship 308 are revealed
  • Two versions with different power outputs maximise customer choice
  • Developed by PEUGEOT SPORT for exceptional performance and race-bred pedigree
  • Stylish specification inside and out look to ensure it becomes the best all-round hot hatch
Remember, remember the fifth of November… because the iconic PEUGEOT GTi badge is returning to the medium car segment for the first time since the 1990s, and all is set for a thrilling performance. One of the most eagerly-anticipated new model launches of 2015, the 308 GTi by PEUGEOT SPORT is a high-end performance ‘hot hatch’ designed with the sophisticated and enthusiastic driver in mind.

Launched as a high-performance model for the 308 range – itself winner of the prestigious 2014 European Car of the Year – the 308 GTi has been extensively developed by PEUGEOT SPORT - the Brand’s in-house team of motor sport engineers that boasts a wealth of expertise and success in the performance road car and international competition fields. The 308 GTi is the fourth road car project in three years following the critically acclaimed RCZ R, 208 GTi 30th and 208 GTi by PEUGEOT SPORT.
The letters GTi only ever feature on PEUGEOT products with the highest performance. An acronym of Grand Tourer Injection, it’s a badge which has become shorthand for the hot hatch segment – a sector in which PEUGEOT has more than played its part. Products such as the 205 GTi and 309 GTi have acquired near-classic status in the decades since launch, and remain hugely popular with owners who appreciate their exceptional dynamic performance.
The 308 GTi continues in the same vein. Due to the dedication of the PEUGEOT SPORT team, the GTi offers customers a striking new interpretation of the 308’s sleek exterior design, enhanced sports-oriented interior detailing and an unparalleled driving experience with strong desirability and following.
Powered by the most-powerful engine of its size, the state-of-the-art 1.6-litre THP petrol engine with Stop&Start (S&S) technology is available in two power outputs – 250hp and 270hp – with both providing impressive performance; limited to 155mph. Even the environmental credentials are class-leading, with CO2emissions at just 139g/km, while official Combined Cycle fuel economy is 47.0mpg.
With both models weighing in at just 1205kg this enables the 308 GTi 250 to sprint to 62mph in just 6.2 seconds, with a power-to-weight ratio of just 4.82kg/hp. The 308 GTi 270 sets a new segment record for power-to-weight – at just 4.46kg/hp – and reaches 62mph in a mere 6.0 seconds flat.
Key to the appeal of the 270 GTi is its Torsen® limited-slip differential, fitted as standard. Designed to improve cornering by channeling the torque to the wheel with the greatest traction, it also makes it possible to drive faster around corners and enhance grip and handling.
The 270 GTi is also equipped with 2.3kg lighter 19” ‘Carbone’ lightweight alloy wheels shod with the latest Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres. The design showcases the highly-capable 380mm ventilated front brake discs with solid red four-piston PEUGEOT SPORT signature calipers.
The 308 GTi boasts purposeful new styling, sitting 11mm lower to the ground than its siblings. Aggressive new front and rear design elements have been added, with six distinctive exterior colours available – new Ultimate Red, Pearlescent White, Magnetic Blue, Nera Black, Cumulus Grey and Hurricane Grey. For the most eye-catching look, a ‘Coupe Franche’ two-tone design is exclusive to the 308 GTi 270, contrasting Ultimate Red with Nera Black.
The interior has been carefully specified to complement the 308 GTi’s exterior, subtly emphasising its sporting credentials. The door sill carries the PEUGEOT SPORT and GTi signature, while the foot pedals, foot rest and gear knob are finished in aluminum. Red stitching features on the upholstery, door panels, gear lever and premium floor mats. The GTi 270 features PEUGEOT SPORT race-inspired seats, upholstered in leather effect and Alcantara, which provide enhanced lateral support.
The compact steering wheel – an integral part of the 308’s acclaimed PEUGEOT i-Cockpit cabin design – provides natural grip and precise direction. It features full-grain leather with a GTi logo at the base and a red centring mark at the top. The head-up display instrument panel read-outs has a chequered backdrop, and a GTi greets the driver on start-up.
A 9.7” centrally mounted touch-screen forms a seamless part of the instrument panel, with its Redline theme adding a final touch of flair to the interior. The user-friendly feel of the cockpit promotes safe, instinctive driving control – crucial for a car that packs such a punch.
Standard equipment on the 308 GTi includes a Driver Sport Pack, which allows owners to ramp up the high-octane feel. Pressing the Sport button on the centre console switches the display colour from white to red, and shows additional information on the central read-out. It also enhances engine noise growl and changes the accelerator pedal mapping.
Also standard is red ‘PEUGEOT’ lettering on the grille, sports side skirts, new twin exhaust system with black diffuser, GTi badging, full LED headlamps, front LED sequential indicators, reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, PEUGEOT Open & Go (keyless entry & push button start), satellite navigation and DAB digital radio. The GTi 250 has 18-inch ‘Diamant’ alloy wheels while the GTi 270 the larger 19” ‘Carbone’ lightweight alloy wheels.
The PEUGEOT 308 GTi 250 is priced at £26,555 on the road, while the PEUGEOT 308 GTi 270 (which has more power, the Torsen differential, 19” wheels, larger front brakes and sports seats) is priced at £28,155. The sports seats at £800 and 19” ‘Carbone’ lightweight alloy wheels with Michelin Super Sport tyres at £800 are available separately on the GTi 250 model. The exclusive Coupe Franche with Ultimate Red / Nera Black paint finish (exclusive to the GTi 270 model only) is £1,300.

Check out the stats for the Peugeot 308 with the '65' plate change imminent, is this THEE car to get ?

  • Strong demand expected ahead of 65-plate change
  • Exceptional value for money from 2014 European Car of the Year hatchback and SW
  • Great offers for September buyers
Performance, style, economy, efficiency and versatility – the PEUGEOT 308 is the one car which has it all. The 2014 European Car of the Year winning compact family hatchback is the perfect choice if you're considering a new ‘65-plate’ model from 1st September.

Over 22,000 have been sold in the UK since the car was launched 18 months ago and its striking design has been key to that success.

The 308’s sleek exterior gives the car a genuine contemporary presence on the road, though it’s the beautifully executed cabin that has stolen the hearts from many discerning drivers.

The premium PEUGEOT ‘i-Cockpit’ interior is a real game-changer for PEUGEOT. Driver-focused and minimalist, like nothing else in the segment, it offers a state of the art 9.7-inch touchscreen which takes in-car infotainment to a high level.

The beating heart of the 308 is its range of ultra-efficient PureTech petrol and BlueHDi diesel engines.

Mated to a choice of advanced manual or automatic transmissions, the result is exceptional environmental performance, no matter which model is chosen. Combined Cycle fuel economy is as high as 91.1mpg with CO2 emissions as low as 82g/km – figures with mouth watering appeal to both retail and corporate customers.

For drivers seeking extra practicality for families or larger loads, the 308 SW makes an excellent ‘head and heart’ choice. Its generous boot space is among the best in the segment with an impressive 660 litres below the parcel shelf, including 70 litres hidden under the boot floor for extra security.

‘Magic Flat’ rear seats are standard and the ‘instant folding’ system – available thanks to levers accessible on both sides of the boot – is simple and intuitive to use. For outstanding versatility, it creates a flat floor and a massive 1,660 litres of luggage space.

With prices starting from only £14,995 for the hatchback, there’s a PEUGEOT 308 for every customer. The high level of standard equipment across the range includes DAB digital radio, air-conditioning, remote central locking and cruise control.

From Access trim, through Sportium, Active and Allure, the specification is a desirable mix of comfort, convenience and technology. Broadening the range further, the 308 GT adds a touch of performance, with the choice of a 1.6-litre e-THP 205 manual, or 2.0-litre BlueHDi 180 automatic under the bonnet.

The 308 GT is supported by the 308 GT Line, which features much of the look of its sporty sibling but with a wider range of economical engines.

The letters ‘GTi’ have long been associated with PEUGEOT performance and after a triumphant unveiling earlier this summer at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the flagship 308 will soon be in Dealerships. Developed by PEUGEOT SPORT, it’s designed to offer a thrilling and unparalleled driving experience with power outputs of 250hp and 270hp. It will be available on a 65-plate from November.

Paying for your new 65-plate PEUGEOT 308 couldn't be easier. Passport finance is ideal for customers who like to change their car every three years, and means fixed monthly payments for simple budgeting.

For example, you can drive away a new PEUGEOT 308 Active 1.2-litre e-THP 110 S&S (RRP £18,065), with a deposit of £2,840 and 36 monthly payments of just £225. That includes a Peugeot incentivised deposit contribution of £700.

It all adds up, so chose any number, and then …
Add the number of models currently available in the 308 range (Add 28)
Multiply that by the current number of trim levels available on 308 (Multiply by 6)
Subtract that number by the number of cylinders of the PureTech engine (Subtract 3)
Divide the number of types of paintwork - solid, metallic & pearlescent (Divide by 3)
Subtract the original number (Subtract the original chosen number)
Then add the number of colours of 308 (Add 11)
Subtract the original number (Subtract the original chosen number)
Add the number metres the 308 can easily turn within, between kerbs (Add 11)
Multiply this number by the number of cylinders in the BlueHDi engine (Multiply by 4)
Voilà
