Ssangyong enters the motability market with three models, The choice is now wider than ever before.

SsangYong Korando SUV, Rexton W 4x4 and Turismo MPV are now available to those receiving the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance, the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment, the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement or the Armed Forces Independence Payment.

Available through SsangYong dealers participating in the Motability scheme, it will allow disabled motorists to lease a new SsangYong using their government funded mobility allowance.

Paul Williams, CEO of SsangYong Motor UK said: “Motability is an excellent scheme that has helped thousands of people get mobile.  We are delighted that three of our cars - Korando, Rexton W and seven-seat Turismo are now available to disabled motorists.

With prices starting from just £14,995 and backed by our five year limitless mileage warranty, we are optimistic many more people will soon be driving a Korean-built SsangYong.”

SsangYong cars available:

Korando - Designed in Italy by Giorgetto Giugiaro of Ital Design, the SsangYong Korando offers a highly contemporary look.  Comprehensively equipped, prices starting from just £14,995 and backed by a 5 year limitless mileage warranty, the Korando sets a new benchmark of affordability in the rapidly growing compact crossover segment.

Powered by a 2.0 litre Euro 5 diesel engine delivering excellent fuel economy and impressive 147g/km CO2* emissions, the 149ps+ diesel engine makes Korando one of the most powerful in its class.  With the choice of two wheel drive or four wheel drive and a two tonne towing capacity, Korando offers the practicality of a 4x4/SUV and the accessibility of a family hatchback.

There are four models available, with the option of 6 speed manual, 6 speed automatic and a choice of trim levels.

Note: * SE  +SE, SE4, ELX4 manual

Rexton W - The SsangYong Rexton W has an almost unrivalled position in the 4x4 sector, particularly with prices starting from £21,995.

SsangYong has a solid reputation for producing strong, comprehensively equipped and well-priced vehicles.  Noted for being an extremely competent off-roader, Rexton W uses a body on frame construction for maximum strength, with double wishbone and coil spring suspension to the front, and multi-link suspension at the rear.

The Rexton W is powered by SsangYong’s 2.0 litre turbo charged e-XDi200 diesel engine which delivers maximum power of 155ps/4,000rpm and maximum torque of 360Nm/1,500-3,000rpm, and designed to provide low end torque whatever the conditions on or off road.

There’s the choice of a 6-speed manual transmission or 5-speed Mercedes-Benz T-Tronic automatic.  With its 3 tonne towing capability, the new Rexton W makes light work of hauling a full-size caravan, double horsebox, boat or work trailer.

Turismo - With on the road prices from just £17,995, the seven seat SsangYong Turismo MPV is almost without competition.

At over 5 metres long and with a 3 metre wheelbase, the car is larger than a standard sized MPV such as the Ford Galaxy, Renault Grand Scenic or SEAT Alhambra, yet is a car rather than a van-derived ‘people carrier’ like the Hyundai i800, Mercedes Viano or VW Caravelle.

The Turismo is powered by SsangYong’s own 2.0 litre turbo charged e-XDi200 diesel engine offering a level of performance and NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) control that has already been tested, proven and praised in the marketplace.

Available as the S manual and the ES with a choice of manual or automatic transmission, the top specification Turismo EX features all-wheel drive and automatic transmission.

With a huge interior space and flexible passenger and load carrying capability, the car can carry seven adults and 875 litres of luggage, through to two adults and a massive 3,146 litres of load space.

The Motability scheme has helped more than three million people into a new vehicle, with benefits including insurance, servicing, maintenance and full breakdown assistance.

Motability is the largest fleet in Europe, currently operating over 640,000 vehicles.

Regardless of which car is chosen, all Motability Scheme customers enjoy the same worry-free package including insurance, breakdown cover, servicing, tyres and windscreen replacement.
