On sale from February, the new Mazda MX-5 Arctic aims to brighten winter days with its free-of-charge Blue Reflex Metallic paint and contrasting bright silver design cues.
Based on the 1.5-litre 131ps SE-L Nav, the MX-5 Arctic’s striking silver details contrast attractively against the icy blue paint.
With 16-inch Silver alloy wheels, a silver windscreen surround, silver wing mirrors and silver headrest hoops the Arctic has the distinctive look you’d expect of an MX-5 special edition and continues the trend of offering sports car customers a striking car at an affordable price.

Inside, the stand-out feel continues with silver cup holder rings and chrome scuff plates, while the upgraded equipment tally includes heated leather seats, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers and rear parking sensors.
Limited to just 400 cars this UK exclusive special edition features a numbered limited edition badge on the dashboard.
The second MX-5 to wear the Arctic badge, the latest car revisits a name last used on the second-generation MX-5 in 2005.

The 4th Genration Mazda MX-5 now sports it's first special Limited Edition, the Icon, limited to just 600 cars.

  • On sale from the 1st August, the £20,995 on-the-road Icon special edition is limited to just 600 cars.
  • First special edition version of the 1.5-litre 131ps all-new Mazda MX-5.
  • Joins a host of other MX-5 highlights at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The all-new Mazda MX-5 Icon special edition will make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Joining Mazda’s award-winning sports car line up from the 1st August, the Icon is based on the 131ps SE-L Nav and is the first special edition fourth-generation MX-5 with the 1.5-litre SKYACTIV-G engine.
With a choice of free-of-charge Meteor Grey Mica or Crystal White Pearlescent paint, the £20,995 on-the-road Icon is marked out by its contrasting design cues and enhanced standard equipment.

Visually the Icon makes a bold statement with its Soul Red Metallic wing mirrors, rear spoiler, side stripe decals (not pictured) and front skirt.
The unique look is further boosted by 16-inch Gunmetal alloy wheels, while the increased equipment tally also includes black leather seats, rear parking sensors, dusk-sensing lights and rain-sensing wipers.
On display at Goodwood within Mazda’s unique ‘Raise the Roof’ live music area, the Icon joins a host of other MX-5 highlights at this year’s Festival of Speed.
These include the European debut of the all-new Mazda MX-5 RF, plus the first appearance outside of North America for the MX-5 Speedster and Spyder concept cars.
While marking the amazing popularity of the world’s best-selling two-seater sports car, the one-millionth production MX-5 will also be on display.
The fourth car to wear the Icon badge - previous MX-5 Icon special editions were sold in the UK in 2000, 2005 and 2007 (see below) – the latest Icon is a striking sports car with an achievable price, and limited to just 600 cars it’s available to order now.
Pre-order is also open on the all-new Mazda MX-5 RF ahead of its arrival in dealerships next year, and with limited supply in the opening months, fans of the latest incarnation of MX-5 should register their interest now to be one of the lucky few to take delivery of early versions of the Retractable Fastback, a car that represents the next chapter in the MX-5 success story.
“We are delighted that UK MX-5 fans will get to see both the Icon special edition and the all-new Mazda MX-5 RF at the Goodwood Festival of Speed”, commented Jeremy Thomson, Managing Director of Mazda Motors UK.
Adding, “with over 120,000 sales since its launch in 1990, the UK has played a huge part in the MX-5 success story and the Icon follows a long tradition of special edition MX-5s that allow customers to have a stand out vehicle which is truly affordable.
And I’m really excited about the all-new Mazda MX-5 RF, this is a car that offers something new and I’m sure it will attract even more people to the MX-5 family, which is why I’d encourage anyone interest in the RF to pre-order early, as based on dealer feedback after its launch at the New York Motor Show, we envisage that demand will outstrip supply when the car goes on sale next year.”
With the Moving Motor Show on the 23rd June, the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed takes place from the 24thto the 26th June.

Mazda’s iconic roadster is once again proving its popularity with British sports car drivers. Ahead of its official on-sale date of the 29th August, advanced orders of the all-new Mazda MX-5 have passed the one thousand mark, with UK buyers spending more than £20 million as they rush to get hold of the fourth-generation of the world’s best-selling two-seater sports car.

With prices starting from £18,495 (OTR), the all-new Mazda MX-5 is set to reaffirm Mazda’s dominance of the affordable sports car sector. Maintaining the driver-focused ethos it’s famed for, the latest MX-5 was conceived and developed under the concept of “innovate in order to preserve.”

This engineering philosophy has allowed Mazda to maintain the agility, fun and engagement that has always defined the MX-5 while at the same time meeting ever-increasing safety and efficiency requirements, alongside improved refinement.

“The MX-5 is our brand icon and its fun to drive character has strengthened the bond between Mazda and its customers for 25 years”, commented Jeremy Thomson, Mazda Motors UK Managing Director.

“So we’re delighted with the reaction to the new car, it’s won praise and awards from the press, and most importantly it’s resonating with our customers who have been placing orders well-ahead of its arrival in dealerships.

With demonstrators arriving in showrooms this weekend, I’m sure we’re going to see even more demand, as customers get to drive the car and experience it first-hand.”
Since its UK launch in 1990, the Mazda MX-5 has maintained its unrivalled position as the spiritual successor to the traditional British sports car.

Across the first three generations, 116,517 MX-5s have been sold in the UK and with exceptionally strong early orders, the all-new fourth-generation Mazda MX-5 is set to build on that sales success.

“With heavy demand for our latest sports car there’s no time to waste when it comes to getting behind the wheel of the all-new Mazda MX-5, and this weekend will see the car make its debut across our dealer network.”, commented Peter Allibon, Sales Director of Mazda Motors UK.

Featuring Mazda’s award-winning SKYACTIV technology, the all-new MX-5’s 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre ultra-efficient lightweight petrol engines deliver new levels of performance and economy, and with the 1.5-litre engine currently accounting for 54 per cent of pre-order sales, both engines are proving to be popular with UK buyers.

With a superior power to weight ratio, rear-wheel drive, perfect 50:50 weight distribution and more comfort and technology than ever before, the all-new Mazda MX-5 comes with generous standard equipment. From SE-L models onwards it features climate control air-conditioning, DAB radio, Bluetooth®and cruise control, plus Mazda’s MZD-Connect connectivity and infotainment system with 7-inch Colour touch-screen display and Multimedia Commander.

SE-L models with the 2.0-litre 160ps engine are distinguished by 17-inch Gunmetal alloy wheels and piano black door mirrors, and benefit from a strut brace and limited slip differential.

Step up to Sport trim and both the 1.5 and 2.0-litre cars feature rain-sensing wipers, rear parking sensors, smart keyless entry, Premium Bose®sound system and heated leather seats. With the 1.5-litre 131ps engine, Sport trim MX-5’s come with 16-inch Gunmetal alloy wheels and piano black door mirrors.

Sport models with the 2.0-litre 160ps engine benefit from a dynamic set-up that includes Sports suspension featuring Bilstein dampers, a limited slip differential and strut brace, while visually, they are marked out by their 17-inch Bright alloy wheels and body coloured door mirrors.

Versions of the all-new Mazda MX-5 fitted with Mazda’s integrated navigation system come with three-years of free European map upgrades, while the range topping 2.0-litre 160ps Sport Nav is available with the optional £350 Safety Pack, which includes High Beam Control and Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

The lightest MX-5 since the iconic original, the all-new Mazda MX-5 is shorter, lower and wider than the outgoing car, with the smallest overhangs and lowest centre of gravity yet.

These dynamic proportions, combined with Mazda’s KODO: Soul of Motion design philosophy, ensure that the all-new Mazda MX-5’s styling reflects its focus on driving pleasure in an unmistakably contemporary and dynamic way.

Filled to the brim with the undiluted driving pleasure you’d expect, but matched to never seen before levels of comfort, equipment, refinement and sophistication, the all-new Mazda MX-5 is already winning over UK sports car buyers.

The All-New Mazda MX-5 is now available to order in the UK

  • Production of the all-new Mazda MX-5 has started at Mazda’s Ujina No.1 plant in Hiroshima
  • Initial output to go on sale in Japan from June
  • Full UK prices and specification will be announced later this year
  • Ahead of a late summer UK on sale date, pre-order is available from the 8th March at Mazda.co.uk
Mazda Motor Corporation has begun production in Japan of the all-new Mazda MX-5. The models rolling off the assembly line at Ujina Plant No.1 in Hiroshima are initially destined for the domestic market, where sales are scheduled to begin in June. The Mazda MX-5 will then be rolled out progressively to other regions, arriving in the UK later this summer.

The fourth generation of the iconic two-seater perfectly embodies Mazda's vehicle engineering philosophy: the pursuit of driving pleasure. “Innovate in order to preserve” was the development motto, as Mazda aimed to maintain the Jinba Ittai (“rider and horse as one”) fun element that has always defined the MX-5 while at the same time meeting ever-increasing safety and efficiency requirements.

The all-new model is the lightest MX-5 since the first generation and the first with SKYACTIV Technology, including a choice in Europe of two ultra-efficient lightweight petrol engines delivering 131PS and 160PS.

Additional highlights include a sporty KODO: Soul of Motion design, the lowest centre of gravity to date on an MX-5, and a people-oriented interior that’s optimised for open-top driving. It is also available with the MZD Connect infotainment system and a range of i-ACTIVSENSE active and pre-crash safety technology.

First launched in 1989, the Mazda MX-5 instantly revived the market for affordable lightweight sports cars. Some 26 years and almost 200 awards later, the legend is still going strong. With production surpassing 950,000 units in January, Mazda continues to hold the Guinness World Record for the best-selling two-seater sports car of all time.

Ahead of its arrival in dealerships later this year, UK customers excited by the arrival of the all-new Mazda MX-5 can now register their interest and, from Sunday the 8th March, pre-order their all-new MkIV Mazda MX-5 at Mazda.co.uk.

Nissan announces specs and pricing for new X-Trail.

  • All-New Nissan X-Trail priced from £22,995
  • Four trim grades: Visia, Acenta, n-tec and Tekna
  • Available in 2WD and 4WD with a choice of five or seven seats
  • In showrooms from 17th July 2014
Nissan has announced full pricing and specifications for the all-new X-Trail – the stylish and dynamic model that will reaffirm the brand’s command of the crossover segment when it arrives in UK showrooms this July.
Sporting sleek and modern looks and incorporating a suite of in-class technology firsts, the all-new X-Trail builds on the dependable and accomplished reputation of its predecessor while redefining the compact SUV and further strengthening the Nissan crossover family.

A highly competitive and flexible pricing structure has been developed to ensure the latest iteration appeals in equal measure to both the loyal army of X-Trail devotees and conquest customers.
Prices start from just £22,995 for the entry-level five-seat 2WD Visia, which is £2,600 less than its predecessor, making all-new X-Trail and high-end crossover ownership more accessible than ever. Meanwhile, the five-seat 2WD Acenta, expected to be the most popular model in the range, costs just £24,795 - £800 less than the outgoing entry level Acenta.

Four equipment-packed grades: exceptional flexibility
From launch, the all-new X-Trail will be available in four familiar grades – Visia, Acenta, n-tec and Tekna – giving buyers exceptional flexibility to choose a model that best suits their lifestyle and their budget.
But Nissan’s relentless drive for quality ensures the whole range is without compromise. The use of premium materials throughout means each variant has a high quality, luxurious feel and generous equipment levels enhance this further.
Priced from £22,995, Visia models sport stylish 17” alloy wheels and are given further kerb appeal with an eye-catching signature strip of LED daytime running lights.
Inside, an array of technological features including Bluetooth connectivity and an MP3 compatible sound system with AUX-IN, air conditioning, heated door mirrors, follow-me-home lighting and an electric parking brake are also among the equipment included as standard.

The all-new X-Trail features one of the most advanced meter displays yet seen,  with 5 inch TFT colour display incorporating 12 graphic displays accessible on rotation offering advice and warnings including average and actual speeds, navigation turn-by-turn instructions, audio content, traffic sign recognition, eco driving advice and torque distribution settings in 4WD mode.
Moving up through the range the Acenta, priced from £24,795, adds privacy glass, dual zone climate control, electric folding mirrors, a power sunroof, automatic lights and wipers and front and rear parking sensors to the lengthy equipment list.
Both the Visia and Acenta models come with the option of a Smart Vision Pack that adds many of the most desirable driver aids and safety enhancements in one convenient and affordable package. Priced at £495, the Visia Smart Vision Pack adds automatic lights, High Beam Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Emergency Braking, Traffic Sign Recognition and front and rear parking sensors to the standard equipment. Meanwhile, the Acenta Smart Vision Pack, which costs £450, adds High Beam Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Emergency Braking and Traffic Sign Recognition to the standard specs.
Buyers choosing the n-tec, which starts at £27,295, get everything included on the Acenta with Smart Vision Pack plus a wealth of additional goodies including 19” alloys, intelligent i-Key locking with push-button ignition, DAB radio, roof rails, power tailgate, Around View Monitor giving 360-degree view around the car and the latest generation NissanConnect system with smartphone integration and built-in apps.
Meanwhile, the range-topping Tekna, which is priced from £29,295, adds even more luxury and technology, including Bi-LED headlamps, heated leather seats and an electric driver’s seat with lumbar support. A number of additional safety features such as a Blind Spot Warning and Driver Attention Alert are also included, as is Nissan’s ingenious Park Assist automatic parking feature.

Powerful and Refined. Comfortable and Capable
Beneath the bonnet Nissan’s powerful yet frugal 1.6dCi 131PS engine delivers an abundance of torque (320 Nm) and excellent refinement at all speeds, making the all-new X-Trail equally at home on and off the beaten path – dual qualities that contributed to the outstanding success of its predecessor.
Acenta, n-tec and Tekna variants are available in a choice of two and four-wheel-drive forms, and are available with Nissan’s XTRONIC CVT transmission. The 4WD variants gain the latest generation of the ALL MODE 4x4-i system.
In 2WD manual guise, all-new X-Trail offers emissions of 129g/km CO2 and impressive economy returns of up to 57.6 mpg (combined cycle).
Intelligent interior offers ultimate flexibility:
Taking flexibility to the next level, every variant of the all-new X-Trail is available with a choice of five or seven seats. The added convenience that comes with a third row of seats adds just £700 to the price of the
five-seat equivalent.
Either way, Nissan’s intelligent interior design makes the most of the new X-Trail’s increased dimensions and incorporates a raked theatre seating layout to ensure every passenger has a great view out and class-leading legroom.
A clever sliding and reclining function allows owners to adapt the luggage space and comfort to their needs. The optional third row seats have a double fold function that allows them to be folded completely flat.
