USA - The 2016 Mazda3 was named the Best Car for Teens in the $25K to $30K category, beating the Honda Civic

The 2016 Mazda3 was named the Best Car for Teens in the $25K to $30K category, beating the Honda Civic in this specific price bracket. Mazda3 was the ultimate standout when looking at overall quality and advanced safety features that would be best for teens on the road these days.

Mazda3 comes available with advanced safety technologies suite called i-ACTIVSENSE. i-ACTIVSENSE[i] includes Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC), Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) for low-speed braking, Smart Brake Support for highway-speed braking, Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, among other features.

Mazda3 was named a 2016 Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS)—the highest designation awarded by the organization—received a rating of “Good” in five body-structure categories and an advanced rating in its accident-avoidance technologies.
Mazda3 continues to reassure the minds of parents that it’s an excellent choice for the entire family as it was also recently selected as the Best Hatchback in Parents Magazine and Edmunds.com’s list of 10 Best Family Cars of 2016.
Mazda North American Operations is proud of its award-winning vehicle lineup. The 2016 model year vehicles have already earned over 100 industry accolades with a recent impressive win from the 2016 MX-5 with two awards for Word Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year.

Mazda's CX-3 add's to it's tally of awards with the Best Compact SUV at the Fleet News Annual Awards.

  • Mazda’s all-new CX-3 named Best Compact SUV at the 2016 Fleet News Awards.
  • Adds to the CX-3’s 2015 Scottish Car of the Year Best Crossover title.
  • Priced from £17,595 to £24,695 on-the-road (OTR).
The all-new Mazda CX-3 has taken the Best Compact SUV title at the annual Fleet News Awards. Judged by a panel of experts that includes leading motoring journalists, industry buyers and residual specialists, Mazda’s first small SUV took top honours against tough competition in this ever-growing sector.

Having arrived in UK showrooms last summer, the all-new Mazda CX-3 has brought new levels of sophistication, style and driving pleasure to the popular small SUV market. By combining Mazda’s SKYACTIV technology and KODO: Soul of Motion design philosophy, with Mazda’s i-ACTIVSENSE safety systems in a smaller crossover body, the CX-3 has complimented the award-winning Mazda CX-5 in Mazda’s popular SUV line up.
Commenting on the all-new Mazda CX-3’s success, Fleet News Editor–in-chief Stephen Briers said “The Mazda CX-3 is a solid all-rounder. It’s stylish and fun to drive, and combines those attributes with strong residuals and competitive running costs. As a cost effective car, the judges felt it is the most appealing in this category.”
Like its big brother the CX-5, the CX-3 can be specified with Mazda’s new-generation all-wheel drive (AWD) system. Both the 105ps SKYACTIV-D diesel and 150ps SKYACTIV-G petrol engines can be matched to four-wheel drive, while the 120ps front-wheel drive SKYACTIV-G petrol stars as the biggest seller in the line-up. With 27 per cent of CX-3 sales to date taken by the fleet market, the all-new CX-3 is a great addition to Mazda’s fleet portfolio.
Accepting the award, Mazda Motors UK’s Head of Fleet, Steve Tomlinson said “the CX-3 is a fantastic addition to our fleet line up and I’m confident this award will help raise the profile of our new small SUV amongst our core end user customers. We have one of the newest product ranges in the industry and being able to offer a CX-3 or CX-5 has broadened our appeal in the growing SUV Segment.”

Mazda to star at the gadget Show Live at the NEC, with a host of new models.

  • Mazda will showcase its technology with a stand and driving area at the Gadget Show Live 2015
  • The Mazda Driving Experience area will highlight Mazda’s Smart City Brake Support and Rear Cross Traffic Alert active safety systems, plus demonstrate Mazda’s i-stop idle-stop system.
  • Ahead of its launch this summer, the all-new Mazda CX-3 small SUV will take centre stage on the Mazda stand in hall 20.
  • Gadget Show Live 2015 takes place at the NEC, Birmingham from the 7-12 April.
Mazda will be exhibiting at Britain’s leading technology event – the Gadget Show Live 2015 – from the 7thApril. The all-new Mazda CX-3 will take centre stage on the Mazda stand, visitors to next week’s Gadget Show will also see the all-new Mazda2, 2015 Mazda6 and 2015 Mazda CX-5, while Mazda’s indoor driving experience area will give gadget fans the opportunity to experience some of the advanced technology found in Mazda vehicles.

“We’re delighted to be attending the Gadget Show Live as it gives us the opportunity to highlight the impressive levels of technology in our cars. Our i-ACTIVSENSE advanced driver-supporting safety technology is a great example of Mazda using technology to help the driver.

Experiencing how these systems work from behind the wheel is the perfect way for customers to understand their benefits and the Gadget Show Live indoor driving experience area is the ideal place to do this,” commented Steve Tomlinson, Head of Fleet Mazda UK.

Located in Hall 20 the Mazda Driving Experience area is a low-speed driving area that allows drivers to experience Mazda’s Smart City Brake Support.

Designed to take the stress out of city driving, Smart City Brake Support helps avoid or minimise the effects of low-speed collisions by using a laser-based system to continually monitor the gap and closing speed to the vehicle in front, and apply the brakes at speeds up to approximately 20mph.

Open to anyone with a valid driving license, participants at the Mazda Driving Experience area will also get to see Mazda’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert system in action.

It alerts the driver of any vehicles or objects approaching from either side at the rear of the car. Designed to assist drivers reversing out of a parking space, a warning light flashes in the door mirror on the side of the approaching car and an audible alert sounds.

Drivers enjoying the Mazda Driving Experience area will also get to feel the smooth operation of Mazda’s fuel-consumption reducing i-stop idle-stop system and experience the refinement of Mazda’s latest SKYACTIV engines.

The All-New Mazda MX-5 is now available to order in the UK

  • Production of the all-new Mazda MX-5 has started at Mazda’s Ujina No.1 plant in Hiroshima
  • Initial output to go on sale in Japan from June
  • Full UK prices and specification will be announced later this year
  • Ahead of a late summer UK on sale date, pre-order is available from the 8th March at Mazda.co.uk
Mazda Motor Corporation has begun production in Japan of the all-new Mazda MX-5. The models rolling off the assembly line at Ujina Plant No.1 in Hiroshima are initially destined for the domestic market, where sales are scheduled to begin in June. The Mazda MX-5 will then be rolled out progressively to other regions, arriving in the UK later this summer.

The fourth generation of the iconic two-seater perfectly embodies Mazda's vehicle engineering philosophy: the pursuit of driving pleasure. “Innovate in order to preserve” was the development motto, as Mazda aimed to maintain the Jinba Ittai (“rider and horse as one”) fun element that has always defined the MX-5 while at the same time meeting ever-increasing safety and efficiency requirements.

The all-new model is the lightest MX-5 since the first generation and the first with SKYACTIV Technology, including a choice in Europe of two ultra-efficient lightweight petrol engines delivering 131PS and 160PS.

Additional highlights include a sporty KODO: Soul of Motion design, the lowest centre of gravity to date on an MX-5, and a people-oriented interior that’s optimised for open-top driving. It is also available with the MZD Connect infotainment system and a range of i-ACTIVSENSE active and pre-crash safety technology.

First launched in 1989, the Mazda MX-5 instantly revived the market for affordable lightweight sports cars. Some 26 years and almost 200 awards later, the legend is still going strong. With production surpassing 950,000 units in January, Mazda continues to hold the Guinness World Record for the best-selling two-seater sports car of all time.

Ahead of its arrival in dealerships later this year, UK customers excited by the arrival of the all-new Mazda MX-5 can now register their interest and, from Sunday the 8th March, pre-order their all-new MkIV Mazda MX-5 at Mazda.co.uk.

Making its European debut at the Geneva Motor Show, the all-new Mazda CX-3 will go on sale in the UK on the 19th June 2015. With an 18-strong model line-up, Mazda’s first small SUV promises to take the compact SUV sector by storm when it arrives in UK dealerships in the summer. Combining Mazda’s unique SKYACTIV technology and KODO: Soul of Motion design language, the CX-3 will bring new levels of sophistication, style, driving pleasure and equipment to the growing small SUV market.
With a choice of 11 petrol and seven diesel variants, the all-new Mazda CX-3 comes with generous standard equipment and Mazda’s latest i-ACTIVSENSE safety systems. SE models feature 16-inch alloy wheels, plus heated and power folding mirrors, while SE-L models add rear privacy glass and front LED fog lights. At the top of the range, the all-new Mazda CX-3 Sport Nav is the first car in the class to come with LED headlights. With its unique nocturnal appearance further enhanced by signature LED rear lights; 18-inch Gun-metallic diamond-cut alloy wheels and chrome accent door sills wrap up the distinctive look.
Inside, the all-new Mazda CX-3 features a 7-inch colour touchscreen, DAB radio,  Bluetooth® and a multifunction steering wheel across all models, while Sport Nav models up the technology tally with navigation including 3-years free European map updates, Bose® surround sound, smart keyless entry and, in another first for the sector, Mazda’s Active Driving Display head-up display system. In line with all of Mazda’s newest models, the CX-3’s user-friendly cabin layout sets new standards in material quality and design, while SE-L models benefit from heated front seats, automatic climate control and rain-sensing wipers. Optional Stone leather available on Sport Nav models further enhances the small SUVs premium cabin.

The all-new Mazda CX-3 boasts impressive active safety equipment to compliment the passive protection of its lightweight yet rigid SKYACTIV-Body and full complement of standard airbags, which includes curtain airbags. Hill Hold Assist, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and Dynamic Stability Control are standard across the range, while SE-L and Sport Nav models feature Mazda’s Lane Departure Warning System and Smart City Brake Support. All models get cruise control, while rear parking sensors are standard from SE-L grade onwards, and Sport Nav models also benefit from a reversing camera.
With a flexible cargo board boot floor, which can be lifted to provide a flat load space when the standard 60:40 split fold rear seats are tumbled, the all-new Mazda CX-3’s spacious 350-litre boot ensures it has the practicality to match its upmarket cabin and stylish exterior.
Featuring the signature ‘wing’ front grille, sharp KODO design lines and predatory headlamp styling which instantly identify it as a member of the Mazda family, the CX-3’s sweeping a-pillars and coupe-like profile give it a sporty stance on the road, yet with a 50mm higher ride height than the all-new Mazda2, the CX-3 still offers the more commanding view of the road favoured by SUV customers.
Offered with either 120ps or 150ps, the SKYACTIV-G 2.0-litre petrol engine is predicted to account for around 50 per cent of UK sales. Available in all trims, with both SKYACTIV-MT manual and SKYACTIV-Drive automatic transmissions, the 120ps engine with front-wheel drive makes up the bulk of the line-up. However, at the top of the petrol range, the 150ps engine is matched exclusively to all-wheel drive (AWD), and a six-speed manual gearbox in Sport Nav trim.
Having made its debut in the all-new Mazda2, the SKYACTIV-D 1.5-litre diesel engine completes the engine line up of the all-new Mazda CX-3. As with petrol versions, front-wheel drive models make up the majority of the range, although the 105ps SKYACTIV-D Sport Nav AWD is offered with both manual and automatic transmissions. With emissions of just 105g/km the front-wheel drive SKYACTIV-D has an official combined economy of 70.6mpg, while across the range Mazda’s SKYACTIV technology ensures the all-new Mazda CX-3 delivers an unrivalled blend of performance and efficiency.
Featuring the full complement of SKYACTIV technology – engines, body, chassis and transmissions – the all-new Mazda CX-3 provides the responsive handling and spirited driving experience that Mazda has come to be recognised for. Embodying Mazda’s Defy Convention ethos, the all-new Mazda CX-3 is designed to set new standards in the small SUV sector by offering levels of efficiency, style, handling, refinement and equipment not yet seen in this rapidly growing sector.
