Six Generation, numerous editions, and still the best muscle car around, thats the Camaro.

  • See How The Camaro Has Changed Over Six Generations On New Poster From GMPartsOnline.net
A Free Poster from GMPartsOnline.net documents the Chevy Camaro's evolution over six generations. This minimalist style poster combines the art of the Camaro profile with specs about each generation from 1967 to 2016.
"There's a lot of excitement for the Camaro's 50th, so we thought fans would like to celebrate this anniversary with a free download," says Angel Vigil, Director of GMPartsOnline.net. “A half a century ago the new Camaro was the 1967 Indy 500 pace car, and it’s been going strong ever since.”

The first generation’s body was styled as an American muscle car to rival Ford’s Mustang, and the poster reveals that strong look. This generation's base inline six only put out 140 hp (and that was a gross horsepower rating, rather than net horsepower), but today’s Camaro has a four-cylinder base engine with nearly double the horsepower—275 hp.
Due to production delays, the most popular variant of the second generation, the Z28, has a model year of 1970 ½ but it had gusto. The second generation Camaro was produced for 12 years, making it the longest running generation. This hearty generation adapted and thrived despite a 6-month GM strike, gas shortages, and new compliance standards.
Complying with new emissions rules and a need for fuel economy, Chevy’s Camaro third generation lost some power.
"Since the graphic covers engine specs, it might remind folks how horsepower tanked during the 80s,” Vigil says. “There’s good news. The newer, turbocharged four-cylinder has three times the output of the ol' Iron Duke."
The fourth generation’s 3.4-liter V6 revved the Camaro’s horsepower to 160. In 1994, Chevy brought back the Camaro convertible.
However, the fifth generation brought a style that was reminiscent of the first generation of vehicles. As the graphic shows, this generation was the heftiest version.
The latest generation shed some weight. The 2016 model is still over 3000lbs, but it shaved 400lbs off the previous model.
Of course, the newest generation is considerably faster, more powerful, and handles better than previous models, but the price is higher by comparison. When adjusted for inflation, the 1967 Camaro would cost just $17,767.523. The 2016 base price is $25,700.
"Not everyone can afford the newest Camaro, but we can all celebrate," Vigil says. "No matter the generation, the Camaro is a powerful and iconic vehicle. We hope everyone enjoys the free download."

Maserati has chosen this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed & Moving Motor Show launch the Levante in the UK.

Maserati has chosen this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed and Moving Motor Show weekend to showcase the dynamic debut of its first ever SUV, the Levante.
The Levante, launched last month at a star-studded event in London, is Maserati’s first luxury SUV and encompasses the design, performance and exclusivity that has been central to all the brand’s models since its inception in 1914.

The Moving Motor Show, part of Goodwood’s Press & Preview day, has opened the legendary Festival of Speed since 2010 and is a unique opportunity for visitors to get a sneak preview of all Festival content, as well as a chance to get behind the wheel of some of the newest metal to arrive in the UK.
The Levante will be on display in the Moving Motor Show pavilion and will make its first dynamic runs up Goodwood’s famous 1.16-mile hillclimb in the ‘First Glance’ Class during the Festival of Speed on Friday-Sunday.
Meanwhile, Maserati’s flagship Quattroporte will also be on display at the Moving Motor Show while the popular Ghibli will be available to experience first-hand in passenger rides on Thursday.
Goodwood’s Moving Motor Show is now the event of choice for manufacturers to unveil their newest cars to the UK market. The event, held on the Thursday of the Festival of Speed weekend, is expected to attract some 35,000 visitors this year, with more than 200,000 expected over the weekend as a whole.
The Levante, which completes a model line-up that allows Maserati to cover every element of the global luxury market, will be one of many brand new cars that will make their debut at this year’s Goodwood event, making it a must-see for enthusiasts and prospective buyers alike.
The main Festival of Speed weekend is a must in every petrolhead’s diary, gathering together the world’s most exciting cars – from supercars for the road to Formula 1 – as well as a vast array of off-track entertainment, all housed in the grounds of Lord March’s Goodwood Estate.

GENEVA - Maserati launches the All-New Levante, the brands first ever Sports Utility Vehicle.

Maserati's first SUV receives its eagerly-anticipated world unveiling at the Geneva International Motor Show
Maserati has chosen the 86th Geneva International Motor Show to introduce the first SUV in its hundred-year history: the Levante.
As with many Maseratis from the past, the new car's name is inspired by a wind: the Levante is a warm Mediterranean wind that can change from a light breeze to an irresistible natural force in an instant, mirroring the character of the first Maserati SUV.
The Levante is the ideal complement to the Maserati range. Combined with the Quattroporte, Ghibli, GranTurismo and GranCabrio, the range now covers the entirety of the global luxury automotive market.

Design, Exclusivity and Performance are the key characteristics for describing this new Maserati. Distinctively Italian in style, with breathtaking and iconic Maserati design features.
The interior has been created with the finest materials, most exquisite to the touch, from optional premium leather to Ermenegildo Zegna silk, made in Trivero by the Zegna wool mill with a patented process.
The spaciousness of the interior, enhanced by the panoramic electric sunroof, is combined with coupé-sleek external lines and the best aerodynamic efficiency in its category with a Cx coefficient of just 0.31.
The new Maserati SUV is based on the Quattroporte and Ghibli architecture, further evolved and refined  to meet the expectations of this market segment, in which Maserati will compete for the first time.
The technology applied to every Levante is designed to offer outstanding performance both on- and off-road. Sophisticated suspension - double-wishbone on the front axle and multi-link on the rear, combined with electronically controlled damping, four corner air-springs providing 5 dynamic ride levels (plus one additional park-position), play an essential role in the car's handling.
Furthermore, with the lowest centre of gravity in its class, perfectly balanced weight distribution (50-50) between front and rear, high levels of dynamic torsional and flexional stiffness, and a mechanical self-locking rear differential as standard, when driven on-road, the Levante delivers all the performance and emotion typical of every Maserati.
The height-adjustment of the body position particularly useful in off-road driving guarantees ride comfort at the top of the category; when set to the minimum ground clearance, it enables the car to perform at its sporty best.
The Levante is fitted with a 3 litre V6 Twin-Turbo petrol engine with either 350hp or 430hp, and a 275hp 3 litre V6 Turbo Diesel. All engines are combined with the “Q4” intelligent all-wheel drive system - which can transfer torque between the axles instantaneously when required - and an 8-speed automatic gearbox, with integrated Start&Stop System.
In terms of performance, the Levante S (430hp) covers 0-100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, has a top speed of 264 km/h, and provides combined NEDC-cycle consumption and emission figures of 10.9 l/100 km and 253g CO2/km respectively. The Levante (350hp) accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.0 seconds and achieves a top speed of 251 km/h, with combined cycle consumption and emission figures of 10.7 l/100 km and 249g CO2/km respectively. The Diesel-powered Levante (275hp) covers 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds, and has a top speed of 230 km/h, while its combined cycle consumption and emission figures are 7.2 l/100 km and 189g CO2/km respectively.
The human-machine interface on board is based on an evolution of the Maserati Touch Control system, completely updated to offer even more functionality and convenience: the 8.4” high-resolution screen is capacitive, and can – in addition to the touch system - be operated using the new rotary control in the central tunnel.
A wide range of sophisticated advanced driver assistance systems are available, including adaptive cruise control with automatic Start&Stop function, forward collision warning, automatic brake assist system and lane departure warning. Further options include blind spot alert, surround view camera and a powerlift tailgate.
Two extended feature packs are available for the Levante, a  Luxury-Package and a Sport-Pack; they each include a variety of distinctive stylistic and technical contents and enable customers to extensively personalise the exterior and interior of the Levante.
The list of accessories, tailored to the vehicle's high quality and functionality standards, offers a wider array of options than ever before which includes cargo solutions, useful everyday items and a variety of roof carrier or trailer options.
The Maserati Levante is built in a dedicated, completely refurbished and modernized area of the Mirafiori plant in Turin; the first cars have already come off the assembly line and the market launch is planned for this spring in Europe, to be followed by the rest of the world.
The list price for the Swiss market, where the Levante has been launched, is 75,900 CHF.
The Maserati stand at Geneva will be displaying not only the Levante S and diesel-powered Levante but also the marque's complete range, comprising the Ghibli and Quattroporte saloons and the GranTurismo coupe.
There are two Ghibli cars on show: the all-wheel drive S Q4 version with the 410hp 3 litre V6 Twin-Turbo engine delivering sporty performance including a top speed of 284 km/h and just 4.8 seconds from 0-100 km/h.
The other Ghibli is the Diesel-version with the 275hp 3 litre V6 Turbo engine providing a top-speed of 250 km/h and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 6.3 seconds, featuring the Zegna Edition interior.
The Quattroporte on display is the GTS version, powered by the immense 530hp 3.8 litre Ferrari produced V8 Twin-Turbo, capable of a peak torque of 710 Nm and able to propel the car to 307 km/h, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 4.7 seconds, also customised with the exclusive Zegna Edition interior.
The flagship of the Maserati sports car range is the GranTurismo MC Stradale. Equipped with a naturally aspirated 4.7 litre 460hp V8 in transaxle layout, enabling the car to spring from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds; the top speed is 303 km/h and the car’s Brembo Carbon-Ceramic brakes provide outstanding deceleration.

Renault launches two new Renaultsport Megane models for the 2016 Model Year.

  • Two new MĂ©gane Renaultsport versions for 2016 model year
  • New 275 Cup-S offers high-end performance at entry-level price
  • 275 Nav replaces the 265 – 10hp more with no price increase
  • Both powered by an EU6-compliant 2.0-litre 275hp turbo engine
  • 275 Cup-S has upgraded ‘Cup’ chassis with LSD as standard
  • Wide range of performance-enhancing options available
  • MĂ©gane Renaultsport 275 Cup-S priced at £23,935
  • MĂ©gane Renaultsport 275 Nav priced at £25,935
  • Both available to order now with deliveries starting in November
Hot hatch enthusiasts can now enjoy all the thrills of the multi-award-winning, high-performance MĂ©gane Renaultsport at a more affordable price with the introduction of the new 275 Cup-S.  It is on sale immediately priced at £23,935.

The MĂ©gane Renaultsport line-up also sees another new version – the 275 Nav – that replaces the outgoing 265.  As the name suggests it has 10hp more than the model it replaces.  It comes with a more luxurious level of specification and is priced at £25,935.

Both new Mégane Renaultsport versions are powered by the same 2.0-litre, 275hp turbocharged petrol engine as the limited-edition 275 Trophy-R which, in June 2014, shattered the lap record for a front-wheel-drive production car around the 13-mile Nürburgring Nordschleife with a time of 7 minutes 54.36 seconds.

Following in the footsteps of previous Renaultsport models to carry the ‘Cup’ moniker, the 275 Cup-S features the uprated Cup chassis as standard whilst sporting a lower price tag than the 275 Nav in exchange for some of its sibling’s higher specification items.

Owners who wish to sharpen the car’s responses to an even higher level, and particularly for track use, can specify a series of components developed between Renaultsport and world-renowned performance specialists.

The Mégane Renaultsport 275 Cup-S

The heart of any high-performance car is its engine, which in this case is a Renaultsport-developed 2.0-litre turbocharged unit.  In normal mode it develops 250hp at 5,500rpm for comfortable everyday performance driving, but through the Renaultsport Dynamic Management system this can be increased to 275hp for truly scintillating response.

At the same time there is maximum torque of 360Nm, available across a broad rev band from 3,000 to 5,000rpm. The gearbox is a slick-shifting six-speed manual with ratios chosen to maximise the dynamic performance of the engine.

Acceleration from 0-62mph is attainable in 6.0 seconds and the top speed is 158mph. Yet this EU6-compliant powerhouse also addresses today’s concerns about fuel efficiency and emissions. With the aid of the Stop&Start engine cut-off system it has an NEDC combined fuel economy of 37.7mpg, with CO2emissions of 174g/km.

The Renaultsport Dynamic Management system which gives access to the full 275hp has three modes linked to the Electronic Stability Control (ESC). In Normal mode the car develops 250hp and has standard throttle mapping with the ESC fully on.

Sport mode raises the power to 275hp and has sport throttle mapping and later ESC intervention. Race mode also delivers 275hp with sport throttle mapping, but switches off the ESC completely.

The focused and finely-honed nature of the MĂ©gane Renaultsport models continues to be evident in the PerfoHub double-axis front suspension, which sets them apart from the rest of the MĂ©gane range.

This has been engineered to overcome the drawbacks commonly associated with powerful front-wheel-drive cars, such as self-steering input through tight corners and poor straight-line stability.

The 275 Cup-S also has the proven Cup Chassis Pack with mechanical limited-slip differential, red paint on the Brembo four-pot brake calipers, firmer springs and dampers and a stiffer anti-roll bar, making it ideal for circuit use.

The 275 Cup-S can be supplemented with a number of options developed in conjunction with performance component specialists to further hone performance and enjoyment as follows:

Ă–hlins Road & Track adjustable dampers

Representing an evolution of technology employed in motorsport and on the MĂ©gane N4 rally car, these allow drivers to adjust the damper settings for optimum performance in line with road conditions and driving style.

First offered on the MĂ©gane Renaultsport 275 Trophy and Trophy-R, the optional Ă–hlins adjustable dampers, unlike conventional models with rods, feature a sliding cartridge, a design feature that reduces the shear forces that can ‘block’ the moving rod.

They also use DFV (Dual Flow Valve) technology, a major innovation that functions on both rebound and compression. Their speed of operation, at both low and high frequencies, keeps the tyre in contact with the ground in almost all circumstances.

In the event of heavy usage, the internal bleed valve maintains consistent damping quality even when the fluid heats up.

As requested by Renaultsport, the Ă–hlins Road & Track dampers are fitted with a hydraulic compression stop at the front.

The PDS (Progressive Damping System) provides additional damping capacity at the end of the compression phase, when the car brakes hard or hits a bump.

The dampers are adjustable and, with 20 positions at the front and 30 at the rear, the car can adapt precisely to all types of surface and all driving styles. To help owners make the most of the Ă–hlins adjustable dampers, an online tutorial has been provided at the www.renaultsport.com website.

AkrapoviÄŤ lightweight titanium exhaust system
The renowned Slovenian manufacturer of exhaust systems for motorcycles and performance cars, has designed a bespoke titanium exhaust system that cuts 4kg from the vehicle weight and generates a more raucous, sporty note.

Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres

Road homologated yet ideal for circuit use this ultra-high performance tyre is fitted on many supercars and was first fitted to a front-wheel drive car as standard on the MĂ©gane Renaultsport 275 Trophy-R.

After testing at several tracks, a version of the tyre was jointly approved for the MĂ©gane Renaultsport.  The Pilot Sport Cup 2 is designed to offer better grip, more precise steering, more consistent performance at high speeds as well as improved endurance and versatility.

The specification of the Mégane Renaultsport 275 Cup-S has been carefully chosen to provide everything the performance hatch enthusiast needs while ensuring the car is accessible to the greatest number of buyers.

There are Renaultsport extended wheel arches and side protection mouldings, the Renaultsport F1-style front blade and rear diffuser with gloss black sections and a Renaultsport extended rear spoiler, all of which improve aerodynamic performance and increase downforce.

The door mirrors have gloss black shells and are electrically operated and heated and there are electric front windows. The 18-inch ‘Tibor’ alloys have a matt black finish and are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tyres.

19-inch alloy wheels are available instead of the standard 18-inch rims.  In keeping with Renaultsport’s policy of always offering the optimum handling set-up, different tyre and wheel combinations are available depending on wheel size and the suspension fitted to the vehicle.

Inside, the 275 Cup-S is fitted with logoed Renaultsport seats, a Renaultsport analogue rev counter and speedometer, drilled aluminium pedals, a leather Renaultsport steering wheel, the three-mode Renaultsport Dynamic Management system, air conditioning, a 4x20W radio and CD player with Bluetooth and an AUX input, keycard entry, cruise control, speed limiter and comes with the Renault Anti-Intruder Device, which automatically locks the doors above 6mph.

There is a range of options available on the 275 Cup-S and 275 Nav.  A full list is provided in the Options table below.

The Mégane Renaultsport 275 Nav

The second model in the new Mégane Renaultsport line-up is the 275 Nav, which delivers identical performance to the 275 Cup-S from the same engine, but has a specification more suited to everyday road driving.

The 275 Nav is fitted with the standard ‘Sport’ chassis, which still provides a formidable degree of handling finesse and precision, but has more compliant suspension. Standard wheels are the 18-inch ‘Tibor’ alloy wheels with a satin anthracite finish and Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres whilst the Cup Chassis Pack is available as an option.

The 275 Nav builds on the specification of the 275 Cup-S with additional standard features such as automatic lights and wipers, dual-zone climate control, hands-free keycard entry system, rear parking sensors with colour camera, extra tinted rear side windows and tailgate, a sunvisor with illumination, chrome Renaultsport door sill plates, a 4x35W sound system and the R-Link v2 multimedia and navigation system with live traffic updates.

A unique option on the 275 Nav is the Renaultsport Leather Pack with heated front seats, carbon grey Renaultsport leather upholstery, electrically adjustable driver's seat with memory function and adjustable lumber support.  Leather Recaros are an option on both the 275 Cup-S and the 275 Nav.

Both versions are available in standard Glacier White or six metallic colours: Arctic White, Diamond Black, Mercury Silver, Titanium Grey as well as the new Flame Red – first seen on the Clio – and the iconic Liquid Yellow.

As with any Renault, the MĂ©gane Renaultsports are covered by a four-year warranty which offers unlimited-mileage cover in the first two years and then two further years of protection up to 100,000 miles, plus four years’ European roadside assistance.

Servicing on the MĂ©gane Renaultsport 275 versions is every 18,000 miles / 12 months.  Renault Service Plans are available for three years / 30,000 miles at £399 and four years / 40,000 miles at £599.
