Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) is continuing to take the world by storm, as the maker of the One-of-a-Kind Mono supercar has joined forces with leading Canadian dealer group Pfaff Automotive Partners – famed for its dealings in motorsport and high-performance vehicles.
Pfaff deals with some of the biggest marques in the world from its Vaughan, Ontario, base – just north of Toronto – including McLaren, Porsche, BMW, Audi, Pagani and Singer Vehicle Design. And it’s now added BAC to its armoury on a limited-run deal, with intense interest from automobile and racetrack enthusiasts expected.
The bespoke Mono has been something of a revelation since its launch in 2011 and become a true British success story. BAC has exported the car to over 30 territories around the globe and is continuing to break new ground.
Signing on the dotted line with such a high-profile partner further demonstrates BAC’s supercar domination and opens the Mono world to a new and enthusiastic market.
BAC’s venerable creation has earned plaudits all over the globe for its unique vehicle aesthetics and impeccable driving characteristics. It’s forever demonstrated its track prowess around the world, and the Canadian market can exploit its credentials to the full around the likes of Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and Area 27.
The supercar already has a big presence in North America after the launch of BAC USA earlier in 2017, and its venture north into Canada represents breaking even more ground.
Pfaff Automotive Partners prides itself on providing the very best customer service, which makes it the perfect partner for BAC. The Liverpool-based manufacturer tailors every aspect of the Mono to the driver, including a made-to-measure seat and steering wheel.
Neill Briggs, BAC Co-Founder and Director of Product Development, added: “We’re absolutely delighted to join forces with Pfaff Automotive Partners and continue our rapid expansion around the world. Having a specialist dealer group in Canada is testament to just how impressive a machine it is and just how competitive it is as a track car. Canadians love their cars and, clearly, they’re big fans of pure driving characteristics of the Mono.”

Mitsubishi continues it's expansion with yet another new dealership to sell its range of brilliant offroaders.

The latest addition to the fast-growing Mitsubishi UK dealer network has opened its doors in County Durham.
Croxdale Mitsubishi, located on the A167 around four miles outside the city centre, features a spacious seven-car showroom together with a 400 sq metre, state-of-the-art workshop that houses eight bays, an MOT bay and diagnostic lane.
An experienced team of eight — including four newcomers to the successful Croxdale automotive group — is managing the site.
Kevin Parkinson, Managing Director, said: “Mitsubishi has a fantastic reputation for producing quality vehicles, and it’s something we’re very excited to be a part of. From the Mirage right up to the award-winning L200, it’s a brand which is exciting and becoming increasingly popular here in the North East.”
It took four months for Croxdale Group to refurbish its showroom ready for Mitsubishi’s arrival and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
Mr Parkinson added: “Our opening weekend was absolutely fantastic — busy from start to finish with people coming to have a look at the brand-new site, experience the Mitsubishi range and making aftersales bookings.
General awareness is building that Croxdale is the new name for Mitsubishi in the North East. The local community are delighted to now have a local Mitsubishi dealer on their doorstep in Durham.”

With their expertise, and the group already having an excellent reputation in the area, we know that the region’s new and existing Mitsubishi owners are in very safe hands.”

LA SHOW - The BAC MONO is set to wow the crowds as it looks to expand further into the United States of America.

  • Liverpool-based manufacturer Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) is continuing to grow from strength to strength across the Atlantic, as it’s set to wow visitors to the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show
  • The LA Auto Show runs until 27 November at the Los Angeles Convention Centre, as the biggest automotive brands touch down in California to showcase their vehicles and technology
  • BAC has a successful client base in the United States of America, where its single-seat Mono supercar has earned plaudits and endless interest from all around the country
  • As such, BAC is now rolling out a direct Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) strategy for its North America expansion
Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) is continuing to take North America by storm and has set up a show-stopping stand at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show until 27 November.
Situated in a prime location between the West Hall and South Hall at the Los Angeles Convention Centre, the BAC display showcases the brand’s world-famous, road-legal, single-seater Mono supercar in all its glory.
BAC will once again rub shoulders with the biggest manufacturers in the business in California and could well hog the limelight with its remarkable vehicle and the astounding technology behind it.
The 2017 model year Mono features a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with variable valve timing that delivers 305bhp and 308Nm of torque. And as the supercar weighs just 580kg, it boasts a staggering power-to-weight ratio of 525bhp per tonne.
The updated model also features five-stage traction control, intelligent launch control and switchable auto upshift, whereby the car surges up the ratios automatically – this can be turned off via the multifunction steering wheel.
Illuminated switchgear now sits on the wheel itself, which has a faster-ratio rack and turns 1.7 times lock to lock. Plus an electronic parking brake has been added to reduce weight and, as with the new wider chassis – now standard – further enhances cockpit space.
The Mono has been exported to 28 different countries across five continents around the globe, with the United States of America one of many nations falling in love with the one-of-a-kind supercar.
When BAC first conquered the USA, it did so with the help of distribution partners, who made getting the Mono on the road in American hands possible.
But due to overwhelming demand from the market, BAC decided to set up its North American operations in Sonoma, California, and roll out a direct Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) strategy.
In May 2016, BAC USA incorporated was founded, and the brand’s dealership programme has been in full swing ever since – boosting its profile in major cities and states.
The release of the all-encompassing Mono 2.5l in North America will give BAC even more success across the continent and ensure buyers have total peace of mind thanks to dedicated service centres for its clients.
The British company is also providing technical support, dealer acquisition and technician training and aims to have between 8-10 dedicated dealers across the USA over the next 12 months.
Mark Rayner, BAC's Chief Operations Officer and North American President, said: "This is the optimum time in the evolution of the North American market for BAC to enter the region as the OEM. From 2016, the company intends to expand its dealer and service center offering with pivotal dealers, who aspire to increase our brand awareness and Mono ownership in one of our larger markets."
Company co-founder and Director of Product Development Neill Briggs added: “Our venture in the United States of America is born out of extensive industry research. It’s the biggest and most lucrative supercar territory in the world, which is why it’s at the very top of our global sales strategy. Success across the Atlantic is testament to our fantastic team and we’re looking forward to the next step in 2017.”
BAC have signed three dealers to its program with a further two to be signed before the end of 2016. The company is interested to hear from potential dealers in the North American market.

BCA, the UK famous auction house celebrates seventy years of being in business with a few pics of the cars it has sold.

Founded in 1946, this year BCA celebrates seventy years of service to the UK motor industry.
From modest beginnings that saw founder David Wickins stage a sale in a marquee at Frimley Bridges in 1946 selling 14 cars, today BCA touches over 3.5m vehicles a year and works with manufacturers, fleet operators and dealers to provide the backbone of the UK and Europe’s automotive supply chain.

During its long history, BCA has become one of the best known names in the motor industry and established the blueprint for success in the vehicle auction sector through expansion, acquisition and innovation. Today, that pioneering spirit continues as BCA Marketplace plc.
The company recently announced a strategic expansion across the UK, including the recently-acquired Scottish Motor Auction Group (SMA) business.  BCA also acquired car transporter Stobart Automotive and automotive services provider, Ambrosetti. The BCA family also includes the well-known WeBuyAnyCar.com brand.
Simon Henstock, BCA’s Chief Operating Officer, UK Remarketing, has nearly forty years’ experience with the company. During his long career, Simon has sold hundreds of thousands of vehicles and still enjoys the buzz of auctioneering used cars.
“Buyers in the auction hall compete with online bidders on almost every vehicle we sell and 25% of all vehicles sold at BCA are purchased online.
We also offer over 400,000 vehicles a year with the benefit of a BCA Assured mechanical inspection which is an independent multi-point vehicle check carried out by the AA at BCA.”
To help mark BCA’s 70th anniversary, Simon has picked ten of the more unusual and interesting vehicles sold by BCA over the years.

The iconic London Taxi is being reborn with the TX5, and a $400 Million Investment Program to expand the product.

London's iconic black cabs aren't waiting for the U.K.'s vote on European Union membership, seeking their own Brexit by pitching an electric version for Paris and other major European cities.

London Taxi Co., a U.K. subsidiary of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co.,
showed the TX5 prototype in Paris last Thursday.

The car is powered by electric motors with an on-board gasoline-fueled generator for extra range. The goal is to offer the vehicle to cabbies in the French capital by 2018 and then expand to cities such as Barcelona, Oslo, Amsterdam and Berlin.

London Taxi is counting on its cab's spacious passenger seating and extended range to find buyers on the continent amid uncertainty over the U.K.'s future if the country votes to leave the European Union later this month.

The traditionally styled cab is designed for urban centers, where air quality is a growing problem. Paris is set to ban vehicles more than 20 years old starting next month.

"Most of the major cities in Europe have an air-pollution problem," said Peter Johansen, head of the taxi manufacturer that was bought by China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co. in 2013. The limited range of existing models "is what has stopped until now the adoption of electric vehicles as the mainstay of taxis."

App competitors

London cabs aren't the only ones going green. France's leading taxi company, Taxis G7, and Uber Technologies Inc. allow French users to order electric and hybrid vehicles on their apps. Since December, tourists also can visit Paris aboard a retrofitted vintage Citroen 2CV car with an all-electric engine.

The rollout of the TX5 is part of a $400 million program that includes a new factory near Coventry, England. In addition to targeting traditional cabbies, London Taxi also plans to offer the car to ride-sharing apps such as Uber and its competitors.

London Taxi said the cost of owning the vehicle will make it attractive but declined to provide details about price or range.

"We are offering a global product that will be a global beater," said Johansen, who says the car can reach European markets even with a Brexit. The country is "so much part of Europe now
