The 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio has collected a couple of new awards.

Giulia Quadrifoglio takes home top honors from Texas Auto Roundup at Circuit of The Americas

  • 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio named “Car of Texas” and “Performance Sedan of Texas” and took home “Most Drives” honor
  • As the lineup’s “halo” model, Giulia Quadrifoglio highlights Alfa Romeo’s performance and motorsports knowhow with best-in-class 505 horsepower, 0-60 miles per hour (mph) in 3.8 seconds and a record-setting 7:32 lap time around the legendary Nürburgring – fastest ever by a four-door production sedan
  • The heart of the Quadrifoglio is the all-new, all-aluminum direct injection 2.9L twin-turbo intercooled V-6, producing 505 horsepower and 443 lb.-ft. of torque, and is what makes the Giulia Quadrifoglio the most powerful Alfa Romeo production car ever
  • With muscular proportions, simplistic elegance and high-quality surface finishes across its generous wheelbase, the 2017 Giulia Quadrifoglio exudes stunning Italian style with a finesse of Alfa Romeo heritage, athletically taut lines, sculptural details and best-in-class aerodynamics
  • 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is available now with a U.S. Manufacturer’s Suggest Retail Price (MSRP) of $72,000
  • Alfa Romeo has more than 105 years of brand heritage, carving its legend on road courses around the globe
The all-new 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio was crowned “Car of Texas” and also took home honors for “Performance Sedan of Texas” and “Most Drives” at the Texas Auto Roundup hosted by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) at Circuit of The Americas (COTA).
“The Giulia Quadrifoglio took to the track at Circuit of The Americas and thoroughly impressed our journalists with its nimble handling, compelling Ferrari-derived 505-horsepower V-6 engine along with its true Italian flair,” said Nic Phillips, President of TAWA. “Alfa Romeo has created something original, something extraordinary in just about every measure with the Giulia Quadrifoglio – one of those cars you have to experience to believe – whether you’re on the track or looking for a smile-inducing drive to work, this sedan delivers it all and quite comfortably at that.”
With its 20 turns, 133-foot hill and a coned-slalom segment in the straightaway, the 3.4-mile track at COTA provided a world-class driving experience for evaluating vehicles in side-by-side comparisons unlike any other automotive media event. A total of 52 TAWA journalists attended and drove 42 vehicles during the two-day event.
As the first of a new generation of vehicles built on the all-new Giorgio platform, the 2017 Giulia Quadrifoglio embodies Alfa Romeo’s La meccanica delle emozioni (the mechanics of emotion), delivering race-inspired performance, advanced technologies, seductive Italian style and an exhilarating driving experience to the premium mid-size sedan segment.
Bearing the iconic Quadrifoglio badge (a four-leaf clover encased in a white triangle), which has adorned all Alfa Romeo performance models, the all-new Giulia Quadrifoglio embodies the essence of Alfa Romeo’s racing legacy. The beating heart of this ultra-high-performance sedan is an all-aluminum direct-injection 2.9-liter twin-turbo intercooled V-6 engine, delivering a best-in-class 505 horsepower, as well as earning the title of the most powerful Alfa Romeo production car engine ever and the quickest with a class-leading 0-60 miles per hour (mph) acceleration in 3.8 seconds. Combined with an 8-speed automatic with steering column-mounted aluminum paddle shifters, with shifts in less than 100 milliseconds, the culmination of these performance attributes is a record-setting time at the Nürburgring of 7:32, making the Giulia the fastest four-door production sedan in the world.
The Giulia Quadrifoglio achieves these unprecedented figures with exclusive enhancements for ultimate performance. The Giulia Quadrifoglio is composed of a carbon-fiber hood and roof, rocker panel moldings, rear deck-lid spoiler, along with segment-exclusive carbon fiber drive shaft and active aero front splitter. The lightweight construction of carbon fiber combined with the Giulia’s aluminum body components create maximum weight savings that contribute to the near perfect 50/50 weight distribution. The 2.9-liter twin-turbo V-6 supplies its 505 horses to the 19-inch staggered aluminum wheels (19 x 8.5-inch front and 19 x 10-inch rear), wrapped with Pirelli P Zero Corsa three-season high-performance tires. Combined with a torque vectoring differential, the Giulia Quadrifoglio delivers increased performance in every corner and on every straight away.
Yet, the Giulia Quadrifoglio’s luxurious performance is highlighted not only in its physical power, but also from its sleek, rich Italian interior design. The interior features sport seats adorned with high-performance leather and Alcantara, power bolsters, leather-wrapped dash and doors with accent stitching, 3-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel featuring a performance red push button start, carbon-fiber interior trim, aluminum sport pedal and footrest, 8-inch widescreen 3D Navigation on a hidden infotainment screen, Alfa’s DNA Pro Drive Mode Selector featuring RACE mode, as well as safety features including passive entry, blind-spot monitoring, back-up camera, front and rear park sensors, and much more.
Expanding Alfa Romeo’s lineup beyond the ultra-high performance Giulia Quadrifoglio, the Giulia and Giulia Ti models (with MSRPs of $37,995 and $39,995, respectively) exude stunning and functional Italian style with a finesse of Alfa Romeo heritage, athletically taut lines and sculptural details.
The all-new 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia and Giulia Ti models exude Italian style, craftsmanship and performance, all while delivering a comprehensive list of standard features, including an all-new, all-aluminum 2.0-liter direct-injection turbo engine with eight-speed automatic transmission delivering a class-leading, standard 280 horsepower, class-exclusive carbon fiber driveshaft, dual exhaust system with bright tips, leather seating, 7-inch full-color TFT, a 6.5-inch or 8.8-inch industry-first hidden widescreen infotainment display, Alfa DNA Drive Mode Selector with Dynamic, Natural and Advanced Efficiency vehicle behavior modes, sport-inspired flat-bottom steering wheel with integrated push button start, along with keyless-go with passive entry and remote start.
The intelligent Q4 all-wheel-drive system – available on Giulia and Giulia Ti – delivers even more all-season traction and performance capability, thanks to the system’s ability to transfer up to 60 percent of the engine’s torque to the front axle.

  • All-new RS 5 Coupé available to order later this month priced from £62,900 OTR – first deliveries later this summer
  • New 2.9 TFSI with 450PS and 600Nm of torque from 1,900 – 5,000rpm
  • 0-62mph in just 3.9 seconds, 155mph top speed which can be increased to 174mph
  • Audi Virtual Cockpit with RS-specific displays and quattro sport rear differential fitted as standard to UK versions
  • Combined 32.5mpg and 197g/km of CO2 – a 17 per cent reduction
  • quattro all-wheel drive, wheel selective torque control and Audi drive select as standard
  • Overall weight reduction of up to 60kg
  • Optional carbon fibre roof and fully milled wheels
  • RS sport suspension with Dynamic Ride Control, RS exhaust system and dynamic steering also available
  • State-of-the-art driver assistance, safety and connectivity systems
Precision shares equal billing with power in the all-new Audi RS 5 Coupé, and this is particularly true of UK-bound examples which benefit from an enhanced specification bringing the pin-sharp clarity of the Audi Virtual Cockpit and the optimal handling adjustability delivered by the Audi sport differential as standard. The new high performance, high technology coupé with its advanced new 450PS V6 biturbo TFSI becomes available in the UK later this month priced from £62,900 OTR, and will touch down here later in the summer.
With 600 Nm (442.5 lb-ft) of torque, the new 2.9-litre V6 holds a 170Nm advantage over its naturally aspirated predecessor, and delivers it to the tune of a charismatic soundtrack reminiscent of the V6 TFSI powering the original B5 RS 4. The top model in the A5 family sprints from 0 to 62mph in just 3.9 seconds and with the optional dynamic package reaches a top speed of 174mph.
Two turbochargers positioned centrally between the cylinder banks guarantee exceptional response throughout the rev range, and combustion technology employing the B-cycle process with central direct injection ushers in a new level of efficiency for an RS model. Aided by a 60kg overall weight reduction versus the outgoing car, the V6 biturbo is capable of up to 32.5mpg combined, corresponding to 197 grams of CO2 per km – an efficiency gain of 17 percent over the previous model.
quattro with sport differential
The biturbo’s copious power is deftly managed by the eight-speed tiptronic transmission with optimised shift times and by the reworked five-link front and all-new five-link rear RS-specific suspension, which is of course supported by quattro permanent all-wheel drive.
The centre differential-based system distributes drive forces in a 40:60 front-to-rear ratio favouring dynamic handling with optimal traction, and in UK specification models is augmented by the quattro sport differential, which also apportions torque optimally between the rear wheels to promote even greater handling adjustability.
For the most committed drivers Audi Sport also offers optional RS sport suspension with Dynamic Ride Control (DRC), ceramic brakes and dynamic steering with RS-specific tuning.
Pronounced air intakes, gaping oval exhaust tailpipes, quattro blisters complementing widened wheel arches and an exclusive honeycomb design for the single frame grille are among the features that render the elegantly updated A5 body fit to bear the RS badge. In this latest model, the look can also be further enhanced by new features such as a full carbon roof and by bundled appearance packs that accentuate the sill strips, mirror cappings and diffuser insert.
The standard LED headlamps with their dynamic scrolling indicators can also be upgraded to Matrix LED units capable of intelligently diverting their high beam around oncoming and leading traffic for maximum illumination, and for maximum visual impact the sizeable 19-inch alloy wheels can also be upgraded to a 20-inch design.
Defining features also abound in the upscale and lavishly appointed interior. Fine Nappa leather-upholstered RS sport seats position the driver perfectly in relation to the flat-bottomed multifunction sport steering wheel and the tiptronic selector lever with its RS insignia.
When the start button is pressed the exceptionally sharp and richly detailed graphics of the RS-specific, fully digital Audi Virtual Cockpit come to life. This standard feature of UK RS 5 models features a customisable display incorporating special RS screens providing information on tyre pressure, torque and g-forces.
The list of driver assistants that feature as standard also includes the Audi side assist blindspot monitoring system, Audi hill hold assist and the Audi drive select adaptive dynamics system offering fine-tuning of engine response, transmission shift points, steering weighting and the operating characteristics of the quattro system and sport differential.
On the infotainment front, the RS 5 Coupé comes equipped as standard with the Audi Smartphone Interface bringing Apple Carplay and Android Auto on board, and with MMI navigation plus with MMI touch, which now also includes LTE internet connectivity as part of the Audi connect package. Thanks to the embedded Audi connect SIM, the flat rate data package for the connect services including Europe-wide roaming is free of charge for three years.
Further high-end technologies, including a head-up display and as many as 30 driver assistance systems are available from the options list to help the RS 5 remove even more layers of stress from every journey and leave drivers free to immerse themselves as fully as possible in the performance.

\Audi used the USA to launch the alll new Audi Sport Brand with a host of models.

  • Eight new Audi Sport models will launch in the next 24 months
  • 2018 Audi RS 5 Coupe confirmed for the U.S. market
  • Audi R8 LMS GT4 makes global debut and the all-new 2018 TT RS and RS 3 make their North American debut in New York
Audi of America today launched the new Audi Sport brand at the 2017 New York International Auto Show.
Representing the best in track-tested performance available from the four rings, Audi Sport models offer the perfect balance of driving dynamics, innovation and quality.
Over the next 24 months, eight new Audi Sport models are scheduled to launch in the U.S. market.
Along with the development and manufacturing of the Audi R and RS models, the Audi Sport brand now extends to corporate motorsports, customer racing, Audi Sport collection, and performance parts.
“Audi is a brand built on progress, and for us, racing has been the lab where so much of that progress has been made,” said Scott Keogh, Audi of America president.
“With the launch of Audi Sport in the U.S., we are excited to offer our customers even more products that benefit from the same developments and technologies first used in motorsport.”
Motorsports Heritage
The name Audi Sport, formerly quattro GmbH, is inspired by a long and successful tradition of motorsport. As far back as the 1930s, the legendary “Silver Arrow” models of the Auto Union were the ultimate benchmark on racing circuits worldwide. In the 1980s, the Audi Quattro with permanent all-wheel drive proved successful from rally competitions to the track tarmac. Since 2000, improvements in lighting technologies and combustion engines have played an instrumental role in earning the brand 13 victories at Le Mans.
In 2016, Audi developed the new R8 production car in parallel with the GT3 race car, the Audi R8 LMS. Both the R8 and the R8 LMS made significant performance gains, thanks to the close cooperation between race car engineers, motorsports specialists and production car developers. The result is a race car that shares approximately half of the same parts with its production counterpart including the V10 engine and ASF® lightweight multi-material construction.
Today, the production models continue to benefit from developments and technologies that were first used in motorsport.
New Audi Sport Model Line
As the halo for the Audi brand, the R and RS models embody the same history and credibility of their racecar counterparts that have won at the track, with the design and functionally that is suitable for daily use.
The following Audi Sport vehicles will join the R8 and the RS 7 models:
  • 2017 R8 V10 Spyder
  • All-new 2018 TT RS and, for the first time in the U.S., the 2017 and 2018 RS 3 – launching this summer
  • The RS 5 Coupe will launch in the first six months of 2018. Featuring an all-new 2.9-liter TFSI® V6-biturbo engine with 450 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque, the RS 5 accelerates from 0-62 mph in 3.9 seconds.
Customer Racing
In 2009 Audi Sport launched the Customer Racing program with the Audi R8 LMS GT3 race car, offering customers vehicles specifically designed to compete in international GT3 racing. In 2016, the RS 3 LMS was launched as a more accessible entry point into customer racing, eligible to compete in the TCR series worldwide.
Now, joining the Daytona-winning R8 GT3, Audi Sport has developed an all-new race car for 2017 – the Audi R8 LMS GT4. Derived directly from the production R8 V10 coupe, the R8 LMS GT4 is the ideal race car for amateur campaigners in terms of purchasing price and cost of ownership. The R8 LMS GT4 will make its racing debut at the Nürburgring 24-Hour this spring.
Audi Exclusive
Audi exclusive is the brand’s interior materials and exterior paint customization offering, providing customers a near-limitless number of ways to personalize their vehicles. Audi exclusive offerings are available on the A6, A7, A8, R8 and RS 5 model lines.
Audi Collection
The Audi Collection serves to further integrate the Audi brand into each customer’s lifestyle, by offering premium items that feature elements and trademarks from the brand. For the performance enthusiast, Audi collection offers a full line of Audi Sport products, including apparel, office goods, and scale replicas of Audi Sport vehicles.
Audi Sport Dealers
More than half of Audi dealers have made the investment to become specialized Audi Sport dealers. As a designated Audi Sport dealer, Audi Brand Specialists complete specific Audi Sport training and showrooms feature unique Audi Sport displays.

  • Optional carbon fibre roof and fully milled wheels
  • RS sport exhaust system and sport differential also available

  • Ordering anticipated to open in May with first deliveries due in summer
Reaffirming its status as the indisputable head of the A5 pack and a cornerstone of the Audi Sport stable, the all-new RS 5 Coupé makes its world debut at the 87th annual Geneva Motor Show this week, delivering phenomenal pace from its brand new V6 biturbo TFSI, a lighter overall weight and a healthy hike in torque.
The very latest in Vorsprung durch Technik is also comes to the fore, from the cutting-edge driver assistance and connectivity systems to the even more comprehensive specification as standard.
Ordering for the 450PS, sub-four second gran turismo is expected to open from May this year, ahead of first examples reaching UK roads this summer.
“The new Audi RS 5 Coupé is the gran turismo among the RS models from Audi Sport. The high-performance Coupé combines elegant aesthetics with high everyday usability.
The car’s V6 biturbo has been developed from the ground up and provides significantly more performance coupled with higher efficiency,” said Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Audi Sport GmbH, in describing the new model.
The RS 5 Coupé is also the first car to bear the new Audi  RS design idiom that will be introduced to the Audi Sport range. The designers drew inspiration for the RS 5 Coupé from the distinctive racing details of the Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO. Massive air inlets with the honeycomb structure typical of RS models characterise the front end of the new Audi RS 5 Coupé. The Singleframe radiator grille is much wider and flatter than in the base model. Next to the headlights are additional lateral air intakes and outlets; tinted bezels differentiate the optional Matrix LED headlights. quattro blisters on the flanks emphasise the pronounced bulges over the wheel arches, which have been widened by 15 millimetres.
Appropriately purposeful accents are provided by the RS-specific diffuser insert, the oval tailpipes of the RS exhaust system and surface-mounted spoiler lip. The RS 5 Coupé rolls as standard on 19-inch wheels, with 20-inch wheels available as an option. Gloss black, carbon and matt aluminium packages provide even more customisation options. With a length of 4,723 millimetres, the new Audi RS 5 Coupé is 74 millimetres longer than the previous model.
Packing a mighty punch, the car’s all-new 2.9 TFSI biturbo engine produces 450PS and delivers 600 Nm (442.5 lb-ft) of torque, with a charismatic soundtrack that is reminiscent of the V6 TFSI housed in the original B5 RS 4. Developed from the ground up, it offers sharp increases in power and efficiency as well as an incomparably full-bodied RS sound. It produces 450PS and peak torque of 600 Nm (442.5 lb-ft) – up 170 Nm (125.4 lb-ft) from the previous model – is available across a wide band from 1,900 to 5,000 rpm. The top model in the A5 family sprints from 0 to 62mph in 3.9 seconds and with the optional dynamic package reaches a top speed of 174mph.
Two turbochargers are positioned centrally between the cylinder banks of the 2.9 TFSI unit. The ingested air flows to the respective turbocharger and into the combustion chambers through a dual-branch system for spontaneous response.
The B-cycle combustion process with central direct injection represents a new level of efficiency among the RS models. The shortened compression stroke used here enables an engine process with a significantly higher geometric compression ratio. Combined with a power stroke that, while normal, is longer relative to the compression stroke, this allows for more efficient combustion and increased engine efficiency.
According to the NEDC, the V6 biturbo is capable of up to 32.5mpg combined, corresponding to 197 grams CO2per km – an efficiency gain of 17 percent over the previous model. Another factor in the greater efficiency of the new RS 5 Coupé is its significantly lower weight. It tips the scales at 1,655 kilograms, 60 kilograms less than before. A carbon roof with a visible fibre structure is available as an option.
The biturbo’s power flows through a dynamically-tuned, eight-speed tiptronic with optimised shift times to the quattro permanent all-wheel drive. The drive forces are distributed asymmetrically to the axles (40:60) to guarantee dynamic handling with optimal traction and the greatest possible safety. Audi Sport also offers a rear sport differential.
An updated five-link construction is used on the front axle. At the rear, a five-link suspension replaces the trapezoidal-link suspension used on the previous model, benefiting the deft driving characteristics and agility. It also improves comfort significantly. With the standard RS sport suspension, the new Audi RS 5 Coupé sits much lower than the production model.

Audi Sport also offers the RS sport suspension with Dynamic Ride Control (DRC), ceramic brakes and dynamic steering with RS-specific tuning. Drivers can make their personal driving experience more individual, dynamic or comfortable using the standard Audi drive select system.

Bathed in black, the interior of the new Audi RS 5 Coupé is extremely upscale and lavishly appointed. Details such as RS sport seats with optional diamond stitching in Fine Nappa leather and the flat-bottomed RS multifunction sport steering wheel underscore the character of the high-performance coupe in the interior as well. RS logos adorn the seats, steering wheel, door sill trims and the selector lever.
Special RS displays in the Audi virtual cockpit provide information on tyre pressure, torque and g-forces. A shift light prompts the driver to upshift upon reaching the rev limit. The RS design package uses red as a vibrant contrasting colour. Package highlights are the steering wheel, selector lever and knee pads in Alcantara plus seat belts contoured in red and floor mats with the RS emblem. Audi Sport offers Sonoma green metallic as an exclusive paint finish for the RS 5 Coupé.
A comprehensive range of infotainment choices is sure to keep everyone on board entertained. The optional MMI navigation plus with MMI touch includes the hardware module Audi connect, which connects the new RS 5 Coupé to the internet via LTE. Thanks to the Audi connect SIM, which is permanently installed in the car, the flat rate data package for the connect services including Europe-wide roaming is free of charge for three years. Passengers can go online with their mobile devices via the Wi-Fi hotspot option. The Audi smartphone interface uses Apple Car Play and Android Auto to make selected apps available in a separate MMI menu. Control is easy and intuitive, thanks to natural language voice control, free text search and the multifunction steering wheel.
The touchpad in the centre console is used to zoom, scroll and enter characters. Further high-end technologies, such as the head-up display and as many as 30 driver assistance systems enhance safety, comfort and efficiency. The intelligent interplay between these systems represents another step on the road to piloted driving.
Over 13,000 units of the first-generation Audi RS 5 Coupé have been delivered to customers since 2010.

Giulia Quadrifoglio
Bearing the iconic Quadrifoglio badge, the all-new Giulia Quadrifoglio embodies the essence of Alfa Romeo’s motorsport legacy.

The beating heart of this ultra-high-performance sedan is an all-aluminum direct-injection 2.9-liter bi-turbo V-6 engine, delivering a best-in-class 505 horsepower, as well as earning the title of the most powerful Alfa Romeo production car engine ever and the quickest with a class-leading 0-60 miles per hour (mph) acceleration in 3.8 seconds.

Combined with an 8-speed automatic with column-mounted paddle shifters, which shifts in less than 100 milliseconds, the culmination of these performance attributes is a record-setting time at the Nürburgring of 7:32, making the Giulia the fastest four-door production sedan in the world.
The Giulia Quadrifoglio achieves these unprecedented figures with exclusive enhancements for ultimate performance.

The carbon fiber hood, roof, rocker panel moldings, rear deck-lid spoiler, and segment-exclusive drive shaft and active aero front splitter combine with aluminum body components for maximum weight savings.

The 2.9-liter bi-turbo V-6 supplies its 505 horses to the 19-inch staggered aluminum wheels (19 x 8.5-inch front and 19 x 10-inch rear), wrapped with Pirelli P Zero Corsa three-season high-performance tires, through a torque vectoring differential, for increased performance in every corner and on every straight away.
Harnessing the immense power of the Giulia Quadrifoglio is a high-performance brake-by-wire Integrated Brake System with Brembo six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers.

Available ultra-high-performance Brembo carbon-ceramic material (CCM) brakes deliver a 50-percent weight reduction while enabling 60-0 mph stopping performance in an impressive 102 feet.
The performance of the Giulia Quadrifoglio is foreshadowed by its uniquely elegant, yet aggressive, sense of Italian style.

High-performance front and rear fascias exude the Giulia Quadrifoglio’s confidence, backed by over 105 years of Alfa Romeo legacy. Flanking the iconic “Trilobe” grille, bi-xenon headlamps with auto-leveling technology stare in the face of the competition.

Sculpted, athletic lines and a powerful stance make the Giulia Quadrifoglio as pleasing to look at as it is to drive.
Inside, the Giulia Quadrifoglio includes performance front leather and Alcantara® seats, featuring 14-way power, including 4-way lumbar and power bolsters and front adjustable thigh support.

Ultra-lightweight carbon fiber Sparco® racing seats are also available to provide maximum lateral support during extreme cornering. Further interior features include Quadrifoglio-exclusive leather-wrapped steering wheel with column-mounted aluminum paddle shifters, leather-wrapped instrument panel with accent stitching and genuine carbon fiber interior accents.
Other advanced technology features unique to the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio include the four-mode Alfa DNA Pro Drive Mode Selector that adds Race mode, Quadrifoglio-tuned adaptive suspension, Quadrifoglio instrument cluster with 200 mph speedometer and engine cylinder deactivation system.
Other standard Quadrifoglio features include 3D Navigation, Blind-spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path detection.
Ultra-high performance options further optimize the lightweight design and track-proven capabilities of Giulia Quadrifoglio:

  • Ultra-lightweight carbon fiber Sparco racing seats provide maximum lateral support during extreme cornering thanks to more aggressive bolstering, and are designed to be the lightest in the segment, while providing comfort for long road trips
  • Ultra-high-performance Brembo CCM brake system features six-piston front and four-piston rear aluminum monoblock front brake calipers with two-piece 15.4-inch (390 mm) front and 14.2-inch (360 mm) rear CCM rotors. The CCM rotor design delivers a 50-percent weight reduction compared to cast iron discs, further reducing unsprung mass to improve handling, while enabling a 60-0 mph stopping performance in an impressive 102 feet
