Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

In a display of automotive excellence, more than 150 Bentleys will grace the grounds of Windsor Castle at this year’s Concours of Elegance (2-4 September).
Now in its fifth year, the Concours of Elegance has established itself as one of the world’s most prestigious motoring gatherings, convening the finest cars at Britain’s stunning Royal palaces.
As a key partner of the Concours, Bentley will be presenting a range of models from its past and present – from the famous 1930 Six-Speed Van den Plas Tourer ‘Old Number 2’ (which won the Brooklands Double 12), to the new Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase and Bentayga.

On Friday 2 September, Bentley will showcase three cars that bring to life the story of the marque’s pinnacle luxury flagship, the Mulsanne. Chassis No. 2 is a perfect example of the first Mulsanne produced, while the two members of the current Mulsanne family on display offer different interpretations of Bentley’s flagship.
The Mulsanne Speed focuses on performance and power, offering 537 PS and 1,100 Nm torque (530 bhp / 811 lb.ft), while the Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase offers an additional 250 mm of rear legroom for those who prefer to be driven in unrivalled luxury and style.
‘Bentley Sunday’ sees two Trophy of Elegance awards given to the best customer cars (pre- and post-1965) selected from the 150 Bentleys expected to gather at the prestigious event.
On the same day, to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th year, Bentley will exhibit three cars as part of a special display of iconic vehicles launched during her lifetime. Included will be the very first examples of the Continental GT and Bentayga to roll off the production line at Bentley’s factory in Crewe. Her Majesty The Queen’s State Limousine, perhaps the most famous example of a modern coachbuilt Bentley, will also form part of this display.
Bentley Motors is a Warrant Holder to HM The Queen and is proud to have supplied the Bentley State Limousine, the official transport of The Sovereign, on the occasion of The Queen’s Golden Jubilee.

TMW - The New Bentley Coupe and the Grand Mulsanne, which if either will be produced? or maybe both !

The all new Bentley that made it's debut last year was a tentative preview of what possibly could emerge after the launch of the Bentayga, well, now that car has been launched and we wonder with bated breath what Bentley has up it's sleeve for the next all new model.
The EXP 10 Speed 6 Concept was slightly criticised for being too "Aston" like, but in my opinion that is not a problem, Aston makes some of the most beautiful cars in the world, so for Bentley to have a few design cues that mimic, loosely, the Aston, this can only be seen as a positive point.

CEO Wolfgang Duerheimer has stated "We are readying the concept for decision" and that "It would come as a two-door coupe and a roadster as well, and would be launched after the next continental", the new Conti is pencilled in for a launch of 2017, so the new Bentley could make a preview slightly after that launch, and on sale late 2018.
However, Bentley is in a quandary, they have Four models currently, The Continental, The Flying Spur, The Bentayga and Mulsanne, so space is slightly limited at the Crewe facility, and yet they have two models that are fighting it out between themselves for full scale production, the EXP and the Mulsanne based convertible, or the Grand Convertible as it is currently being named.
The Mulsanne will gain a convertible on it's next generation but thats not for upwards of five years, so, would it be worth the investment to have it now, against the new coupe that would slot below the Continental, and be a rather large seller, and with it a big income earner, no brainer, or is it !
Mulliner is capable of building the Grand Convertible, freeing up space at Crewe, they could build 20-30 units at a price that would make even Roman Abramovich wince, but it would be so rare and so wanted by those with the wedge to afford it, that it would make financial sense, and the profits from this car could go someway to productionise the new car, so, a no brainer again, maybe !

The only downpoint to the Mulsanne is that the old beast of an engine that can trace it's lieage back to the 1950's will no longer be usable, and will be replaced by the W12 unit, which Bentley is now in sole control of, and will build engines for all the VW Group that will require this stonking power plant, but the old girl will not be the same, it's like giving your nan a new heart, you know she is just as good, if not better, but she is not the same, this engine, like the original Mini and the Defender are icons of motoring past that lived way past their sell by date, but we clung on to them until the last possible second, and for Bentley the time is running out.

GENEVA - Bentley launches it's new motorsport collection at Geneva, the best quality goods at high prices.

  • Continental GT3’s livery forms inspiration for new collection
  • Stylish clothes and accessories for motorsport enthusiasts
  • Makes debut at Geneva Motorshow in the Bentley Boutique
With the 2016 Motorsport season moving into full throttle, Bentley’s first Motorsport Collection is making its debut at Geneva Motorshow from 1st March.
The Continental GT3’s dynamic new livery forms the inspiration for the collection, with pieces echoing the vibrant green colour scheme and Union Flag inspired design cues introduced on the racer for the 2016 season. Created to embody the thrill and energy of the sport, each piece blends contemporary design with the finest materials and craftsmanship.

An authentic range of race clothing forms the basis of the collection. Designed for and worn by the Bentley racing team, technical polo shirts and t-shirts are complemented by soft shell jackets and practical gilets. All race-wear features a streamlined design consisting of dark panels to the side, accented by vivid green decorative tape for a sporting look, and is available for both ladies and gentlemen. More lifestyle led items include a Bentley motorsport hoodie, a first for Bentley, which comes in a stylish and subtle colour palette of white and grey.
A collection of racing accessories complements the race wear. A race duffle bag, originally designed to fit a race helmet, makes a perfect accessory for the racing enthusiast. Other track side essentials such as a baseball cap and ear plugs feature Bentley style cues, and a GT3 Lanyard to keep hold of those all-important VIP passes complete the circuit-side look. Away from the race track, a GT3 Espresso features dynamic imagery which embodies the excitement of the sport, while a new beach towel ensures motorsport enthusiasts can be inspired by their passion even while on the beach.
Younger fans are not forgotten, selected items of the clothing have been miniaturised for children aged 3-8, with the technical polo shirt and baseball cap both available in children’s sizes. For even younger motorsport enthusiasts, a motorsport baby grow with a racing overall inspired design is available for babies aged 0-6months.
Bentley Collection items are available globally from Bentley Retailers from March 7, or alternatively online atwww.bentleycollection.com.
