The Peugeot 108, 208 and 2008 now come with Added Telematics on the Just Add Fuel offer.

  • Peugeot is extending the availability of its innovative Just Add Fuel® finance package with ‘Telematics’ to 208* and 2008 models as well as the 108 which debuted this appealing offer
  • Sales of Peugeot 108 to adults (over 18-years) with Telematics have seen an increase in demand
  • Now also available in Northern Ireland
Just Add Fuel®, PEUGEOT’s  innovative fixed-cost motoring finance package recently made available to teenage drivers who buy a new Peugeot 108 with a plug-in telematics device has been extended to a wider audience with the 208* and 2008 model range. Drivers in Northern Ireland can also take advantage of the finance package for the very first time.

Since its launch in July 2010, some 30,000 UK drivers have been attracted by the Just Add Fuel® finance package’s low single fixed monthly payment that covers all motoring costs for a three year period;
  • No need to budget separately for insurance^, servicing, road fund licence~, and roadside assistance costs – as they are all included
  • No need to search for cheaper insurance each year – it stays the same over the three-year term
  • Fixed price motoring for three years means complete peace-of-mind
  • A completely transparent motoring package with no hidden costs, ◦Representative 4.9% APR.
  • The opportunity to drive a new car every three years, with no MOT or other costs to worry about
Until recently it had only been available to drivers aged 21 or over, but PEUGEOT has again rewritten the retail rule book and, due to telematics technology which monitors a driver’s movements, younger motorists can benefit for the first time on a new 208* or 2008 vehicle as well as 108.
Mark Pickles, PEUGEOT UK Marketing Director, commented: “Just Add Fuel®isrecognisedas the most significant innovation in vehicle retailing for many years, and this now extends to potential owners of 208* and 2008 vehicles, as well as the 108, further widening its appeal. Our Dealers have experienced an increase in retail sales to adults over 18 years of age since the launch of our new telematics product.”
The low monthly costs are made possible with a discreet telematics device; On 108 this plug in device is sent to customers immediately after taking delivery of their car and it attaches to the On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) port under the steering wheel via a simple installation they can do themselves. On 208 and 2008, customers will receive an installer-fitted unit which an engineer will install.
Via satellite tracking, the telematics device stores and sends data on the vehicle’s speed, acceleration, deceleration and lateral G-forces which is then used to assess the customer’s driving style and rate each journey made on a scale from 1–100. Customers can access their driving activity via an online portal.
This is regularly monitored by the insurer and an aggregate score awarded. Feedback is provided to assist the customer in improving this if deemed necessary. If the score falls below an agreed threshold, the driver will receive a warning.  Four warnings a year will result in the insurance policy being cancelled.  Terms and conditions apply.
Just Add Fuel® with telematics is also available to PEUGEOT 108, 208* and 2008 buyers aged between 21-75 who do not have two years’ No Claim Discount, or have held a full UK driver’s licence for less than two years.

Castelan Group has replaced it's entire fleet of commercial vehicles with the new Trafic panel van from Renault.

  • Castelan Group replaces its entire commercial fleet with 80 Renault Trafic panel vans
  • Trafic chosen over five rival vehicles
  • Economy of Twin Turbo diesel engine and availability of enhanced Business+ specification contribute to order win
  • Award-winning vans come with four-year/100,000-mile warranty
Castelan Group, one of the UK’s leading providers of warranties, insurance and claims handling solutions to the retail sector, has once again chosen Renault as the sole supplier of its commercial fleet vehicles with an order of 80 Renault Trafic panel vans.
The award-winning Trafics replace the company’s previous generation models, Castelan opting for the new Trafic after putting the order out to tender and considering light commercials from six manufacturers.
Castelan selected the Trafic based on its unrivalled package, the van impressing with its fusion of advanced design, efficiency, driving experience and value.

As part of its management of 3,000 furniture and electrical claims each week, Castelan’s new Renault Trafics will be used by its Furniture Network Care Technicians to visit customers in their homes to rectify issues with varying types of furniture and flooring.
Such is the vast spectrum of products covered, the Trafic’s space-optimising design is particularly beneficial to Castelan with ample room for the spare parts, consumables and cleaning machines that are necessary for its technicians to resolve many issues on a first-time fix basis.
Castelan ordered its short wheelbase, low-roof Trafics with the ENERGY dCi 120 1.6-litre Twin Turbo diesel engine – the refined power unit’s fuel economy of up to 47.9 mpg being a key factor in its purchasing decision. Another significant influence was the availability of the Business+ trim line, Castelan specifying this equipment level as it incorporates features that it considers essential in its vehicles, such as air conditioning and rear parking sensors, as standard.
Building on the Business specification, which already offers DAB radio with Bluetooth, ESC (Electronic Stability Control) with HSA (Hill Start Assist) and Grip Xtend, electric front windows and remote central locking; the Business+ trim level also adds a smartphone dock, passenger bench seat with underseat storage, fold down middle passenger seat with detachable A4 clipboard and laptop storage, body-coloured front bumper, door rail and rear tail light column, full steel bulkhead with load-through facility, and wide view mirror.
Castelan’s Trafics have been further enhanced with the R-Link integrated 7" touchscreen multimedia system, which includes sat nav, Bluetooth, DAB radio, and reverse parking camera system. Castelan also ordered the additional factory options of a 68mph speed limiter and metallic silver paint.
Leased via Days Fleet and supplied by City Motors, Bristol – one of 40 nationwide Renault Pro+ dealerships that are specially equipped to cater for the requirements of business customers – the Trafics come with the reassurance of a four-year/100,000-mile warranty and four years’ roadside assistance.
Castelan will also benefit from the Renault Business Quality Commitment – the manufacturer’s 13-point plan provided to corporate customers that guarantees the very best service.
Martin Napper, CEO, Castelan Group, said: “We were very happy with our previous Renault Trafics and after looking in detail at alternative replacements, the model yet again proved to be the best for our requirements.
Not only was it a new design and competitive on price, but it also offered excellent fuel economy and a level of equipment that provides our technicians with what we consider to be ‘must have’ levels of connectivity, convenience and comfort.
“With our technicians in the vans for an average of four hours a day, it’s vital that they have Bluetooth to keep in touch with customers and head office, while the option of a good quality, built-in sat nav is another essential – something that we found wasn’t available with a number of competitor vehicles.”
He continued: “Our operatives who trialled the Trafic for a week were also very positive about the drive, and when we attended a commercial vehicle test day where we were able to experience it against rival vehicles in quick succession, the Renault again came out very favourably.”
Darren Payne, Sales Director, Groupe Renault UK, said: “We are delighted to strengthen our relationship with Castelan and the way this order was decided clearly underlines why the new Renault Trafic was recently voted the Best Medium Van by What Van? magazine for the second consecutive year.
“The adaptability and innovation of the Trafic have had a major impact on securing this order and it is these and the many other strengths of the extensive Renault LCV range that more and more business customers continue to find so appealing, 2015 being confirmed as the best ever year for Renault van sales in the UK.”
Available with a choice of four efficient turbo diesel engines, the Renault Trafic is available in Panel Van, Crew Van and Passenger bodystyles. Trafic boasts fuel economy of up to 50.4mpg (NEDC Combined) and CO2 emissions as low as 149g/km (Passenger version), and is priced from £18,475 excluding VAT.
Renault’s UK van sales reached their highest ever level in 2015 to 25,458 vehicles – up 40 per cent compared to 2014 and significantly outpaced the UK van market which grew by 16 per cent.
The strong UK result contributed to Renault being the best-selling LCV brand in Europe for the 18thconsecutive year. In a market that was up 11.4 per cent, Renault’s LCV sales rose to 16.9 per cent – equivalent to the sale of 29,000 additional vehicles across Europe.

What new car buyers really want, new survey tells all.

  • carwow conducts UK-wide survey ahead of September registrations to discover new-car buyers’ top 10 most important considerations
  • Performance and brand fall outside the top 5, while design and style fall outside the top 10
  • Colour features in the top 3, alongside price and fuel economy
carwow the UK’s largest new-car buying platform has conducted a national survey to discover the top 10 most important considerations of new car buyers.

carwow data shows that August is the busiest research month for car buyers in the UK, ahead of new registrations in September. The survey, of UK-based Google users, shows that the top 10 most important considerations are:
1.   Price
2.   Fuel economy
3.   Colour
4.   Insurance grouping and cost
5.   Safety
6.   Performance
7.   Manufacturer
8.   Size
9.   Quality
10. Engine size

James Hind, carwow CEO, said: “carwow is a business built on putting buyers first, by empowering customers with all the information they need before they buy a car. This is why we conducted the survey – to make sure we are providing the buyers with exactly what they want.  We were most surprised to discover that performance, brand and design fall someway down the list of top considerations.
He added: “Colour, on the other hand, which barely gets a mention in traditional car reviews, is actually the third most important thing for new-car buyers. This is the kind of information used to make carwow as absolutely up to date and relevant for our customers, particularly in this most busy period for new car buyers.”
Following the new survey results, carwow will launch a New-Car Buyers’ Car of the Year awards. Based on the top 10 buyer considerations revealed in this survey, the new awards will counter the traditional assessments based on performance and design, to become a true buyer-empowered list of the cars that really deliver what new-car buyers want. More details will be announced later in the year.
With carwow, buying a new car is as easy and hassle-free as it should be – car dealers compete over buyers, offering consumers the car they configure at a great price. And because carwow only works with the best-rated dealers in Britain, the customer experience comes with satisfaction guaranteed.
With more than £300m in car sales through the platform so far, and buyers making savings totalling over £40m, (on average £3,600 per car), both car retailers and consumers are benefitting from the carwow revolution.

Wise Owl Series (Eps 2) - Fronting: What is it & how will it affect my i...

Youngsters looking to insure their first car may think an older car is the cheapest option but latest figures reveal that a 20-year-old car could cost £1,000 more a year to insure than a brand new supermini.
Figures from leading broker Be Wiser Insurance reveal that the cheapest car for youngsters to insure at the moment is a one litre Volkswagen Up! with the car insurance costing around £3,000 a year for a 17-year-old in an average UK city.
The same driver looking to insure a 20-year-old Ford Fiesta would be facing a bill of almost £4,000 with insurance premiums even higher in some parts of the country.

Stuart Jenkinson from Be Wiser said the figures show that new cars are generally the most cost effective for young, new drivers.
“New cars are likely to attract lower premiums for a number of reasons, such as better security and safety systems which reduce the chances of theft or injury in the event of an incident," says Stuart. “Insurers also base their prices on how cars are driven and new cars are generally driven less aggressively than an older one.”
Be Wiser also advises newly qualified drivers to keep to cars in the lower insurance brackets and warns teenagers not to be tempted to put a parent down as the main driver on their car – a practice known as fronting.
“It’s tantamount to fraud if you’re saying you’re not the main user when really you are,” says Stuart. "If the insurance company discovers they have been lied to or misled they can refuse to deal with any claim.”
Stuart said there are a number of measures youngsters can take to keep the costs low for teenagers who put looks and performance ahead of insurance premiums: “Keep the car free from modifications and consider adding a more experienced driver to the policy which may help reduce the premium and volunteer to accept additional excesses.”
Top Tips for cheap car insurance for teenagers
  • Look at buying a new car over an old car
  • Smaller engine size is generally best – 1 litre rather than a 1.2 or 1.4
  • Don’t front your car insurance
  • Check the rating of the car’s insurance group before you buy it
  • Keep it stored in a garage or off the road
  • Don’t adorn the car with unnecessary bodywork and modifications
  • Consider putting a more experienced driver on the insurance
  • Look at accepting higher excesses
  • Consider taking a Pass Plus Advance driving course

Vauxhall slashes insurance for young drivers.

  • Vauxhall offering young drivers aged 18-20 one year’s insurance for just £99
  • Average cost of insurance premium for drivers aged 18-20 is over £1,000
  • Deal available with Vauxhall Corsa Limited Edition and Excite models
  • Corsa Excite available from just £189 per month with a £189 deposit
  • Corsa Limited Edition from £199 per month with a £199 deposit
Vauxhall is helping drive down the cost of motoring for young drivers by offering those aged 18-20 one year’s insurance cover for a one off payment of just £99, with the Vauxhall Corsa Excite or Limited Edition models.
Teaming up with insurance provider, ingenie, Vauxhall is helping its young customers get on the road more affordably with its popular Corsa models. As an added bonus, to reward good driving, each driver can earn the entire cost of the insurance back with good driving – up to £33 per quarter - meaning the total cost of insurance for twelve months could be paid back.
Each car is fitted with ‘black box’ technology which monitors driving style, including speed, acceleration, braking and cornering. Every 10 days – or 40 miles – ingenie will provide the driver with a score based on how well they are driving, along with feedback messages in a smartphone app on how to improve, and how much money they’re on track to save. After every three months, an overall score is provided and money can be reclaimed.

Black box technology encourages good driving, gives parents peace of mind and can also save the customer money in year two!
Customers can also benefit from Vauxhall’s Flexible PCP, which allows them to tailor their finance to suit their budgets. With deposits from zero upwards and zero per cent APR, customers can select finance terms between 24 and 36 months. Other routes to market are also available with this insurance offer, including Flexible Finance and cash purchases.
As an example of the Flexible PCP offers available, Corsa Excite is available from just £189 per month with a £189 deposit, while Corsa Limited Edition can be driven away from £199 per month with a £199 deposit at 0% APR.
“This is ground breaking news for young drivers, some of whom could still be paying upwards of £2,000 for insurance when they’re 18,” said Mark Pinkney, Vauxhall’s Marketing Programmes Manager. "We wanted to provide young drivers who buy their cars through Vauxhall retailers with affordable insurance to help them get on the road.”
“We’ve made it our mission to help get young drivers on the road without breaking the bank, and most importantly to keep them safe while they’re there,” said Richard King, founder and CEO of ingenie.
“Now, through our partnership with Vauxhall, we’re offering 18-20 year-olds a ground-breaking insurance premium of just £99 when they buy the most popular car amongst drivers insured with us.
“And, we’ll give that £99 back to them in full, if they demonstrate consistent safe driving. We believe this is the first time that potentially free insurance has been offered to this age-group.”
