Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

FRANKFURT - Land Rover builds a peddle car based on the Defender, and like their cars, its overpriced at £10,000

  • Exclusive Defender pedal car concept set for public debut at Frankfurt
  • Pedal car hand built in the UK and previews production model, due to go on sale mid-2016
  • Creation of scale Defender collector’s piece celebrates over 60 years of Defender production
  • Authentic interior details featuring leather finish with trimmed seats, steering wheel and rear stowage
  • Rugged aluminium body, protective door sill chequer plate, running bars and durable rubber tyres retain Defender’s traditional design characteristics
Land Rover has created a special collector’s Defender pedal car concept, previewing a full production pedal car model that will go on sale in Spring 2016.
With production of current Defender now in its final phase, the unique pedal car concept represents a fitting tribute to the one of the world’s most iconic vehicles; the Series Land Rover and Defender has been produced in Solihull, UK, since 1948.

The exclusive Defender pedal car is hand built in the UK and styled to commemorate the legacy of the first-ever pre-production Land Rover affectionately know as ‘Huey’ given its original numberplate of ‘HUE 166’.
The concept model is constructed using a rolled–edge aluminium frame complete with individual chassis number and personalised numberplate. It is hand finished in the same Loire Blue found on the full-scale Defender colour palette.
The show car is meticulously hand built in the UK and this exclusive version is constructed precisely to scale to incorporate all of the Defender’s distinctive characteristics such as protective chequer plate, cylindrical running bars and rugged off-road tyres complete with mudflaps.
The drive assembly is constructed to enable the young driver to pedal both forwards and backwards while a spring suspension and working brakes – complete with parking brake – will allow the little one to go on many big adventures.
It’s no different inside, where engineers have drawn on their passion and experience for creating special commissions by constructing an authentically styled dashboard, working hooter and rear stowage section with cover. A leather finish and trimmed seats and steering wheel complete the overall design of the Defender pedal car.
Jaguar Land Rover’s Director of Branded and Licensed Goods Lindsay Weaver said: “This is both a wonderful collector’s piece and children’s toy. It demonstrates our ability to produce goods with world class quality and attention to detail that can emulate our world class Jaguar and Land Rover cars.”
The final production version of the Land Rover pedal car concept is expected to cost around £10,000. (OMG - HOW MUCH)

How to Steal another brands products and get away with it - Well, go to China, they have no morals there.

TMW THOUGHTS - When you spend billions of Pounds, Dollars or Euro's on making your company one of the best there is, offering thousands of people employment around the globe, giving world class products, with style and capability, it then makes a mockery of all this hard work when others can get away with STEALING IT.

It may sound harsh, calling the Chinese brand thieves, but it's plain to see, the stunning and well made, developed and engineered Evoque, has been a worldwide hit for Land Rover, and therefore Jiangling feel that it is perfectly acceptable to Steal other peoples hard work, and the Chinese government thinks that it is acceptable.

REALLY - The Chinese Government thinks that it is acceptable to steal others designs, and allow this other brand to carry on producing a far inferior product, of course Land Rover have nothing really to worry about, the differential in price means that people will buy the Evoque because it is a Land Rover.

The pretend car, well, thats for the masses, but for now, Land Rover will be on their guard and will ensure that in the future, no one will be doing this again - and maybe the Chinese Government should look at themselves and see that by courting foreign brands to give jobs and income, should not be then screwed over, in the end, i know who will be the winner, and thats not the Chinese Government or this fake rip off.

Jaguar Land Rover will not take action against Jiangling Holding Co. over the Chinese joint venture's Land Wind X7, which the U.K. automaker says closely resembles the Range Rover Evoque SUV.

JLR had said it would take "appropriate action" after the X7 was unveiled in November at the Guangzhou auto show in China. Land Wind is a subsidiary of Jiangling Holding Co., a joint venture between Jiangling Motors Co. (Group) and Chongqing Changan Automobile Co.

On Monday at the Shanghai auto show, JLR chief executive Ralf Speth renewed his criticism of Jiangling but said his company cannot prevent the SUV from going on sale. "I really regret that all of a sudden, copy-and-paste is coming up again," Speth told reporters. "There are no laws, there's nothing to protect us, so we have to take it as it is."

The Land Wind X7 will sell in China for about one-third of the price of the Evoque. It has broad fenders, recessed door panels and a sloping roof similar to the Evoque's.

JLR opened a production plant in October near Shanghai. The Evoque has had "steady" sales since production began four weeks ago, according to Bob Grace, who heads the automaker's China operations.

The Land Wind X7 may start sales around July or August at about 150,000 yuan ($24,200), according to Land Wind's website. That compares with the starting price of 448,000 yuan for an Evoque, according to Land Rover's website.

Calls to Jiangling's main line went unanswered. At the Jiangling stand at the Shanghai show, staff handed out four-page brochures outlining specifications for the Land Wind X7. "Imported car? No, China car," read the tag line on one page of the brochure.

Bentley introduces a new fragrance for men, and at only £3,500 per bottle, HOW MUCH !

  • Blue Crystal edition is a masterpiece of fine crystal and luxurious design
  • Latest collaboration with Lalique creates a limited edition of 499 bottles
  • Tradition of Rene Lalique brought to life for global collectors
The men’s fragrance collection from Bentley is now enhanced by the creation of a limited Blue Crystal edition by renowned French crystal manufacturer Lalique.
Perfumer Mylène Alran, who also created the fragrance for the first Lalique for Bentley Crystal Edition, selected natural vetiver extract for the new Blue Crystal Edition to give woody, spicy composition a charismatic character.
This is the second crystal flacon created by Lalique for Bentley in its exclusive and luxurious men’s fragrance range. The impressive initial visual impact derives from the square shape of the flacon and the legendary “Flying B” Bentley wings mascot. Hand-crafted in gleaming crystal, the dynamic of its wings epitomises timeless beauty.

The Lalique for Bentley Blue Crystal limited edition fragrance is available this autumn and is priced at £3,500 (€4,500).
A masterpiece of crystal
As the Blue Crystal name suggests, the artistic bottle shines in magical midnight blue. To achieve this, Lalique applied its tremendous expertise in the area of pigments to create shimmering blue reflections in the magnificent crystal. The flacon’s base follows simple angular lines and is discreetly adorned with the distinctive Lalique for Bentley lettering, in a pure and contemporary design. The contrast between matt and polished crystal is one of the outstanding features of the unique Lalique style, reflecting light in a sensual manner and creating astounding plasticity.
The bottle is in keeping with the great tradition of RenĂ© Lalique, the celebrated jewellery and glass artist of the last century. His factory, founded in 1921 in Wingen-sur-Moder in the French Vosges, continues to produce exquisite crystal objects such as glass figurines, vases, lamps, pieces of jewellery and bottles. For decades, Lalique’s world-leading creations have been highly sought-after by collectors, reaching stellar prices at international auction.
Crafted with pure natural essences
Like other top-quality fragrances, Lalique for Bentley Blue Crystal Edition is made from the finest, primarily pure natural essences. The top note is stimulating, with pink peppercorns and juniper berries, accompanied by a hint of fresh pear. In the heart note, Haitian and Javanese vetiver unfold their concentrated power, woody and invigorating.
The base note includes essences of harmonious ambergris and musk, partnered with precious cedar wood and frankincense to round off the sensual experience.
