The Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian SVP, a limited run of models which will start a range of Limited Editions.

Mitsubishi Motors in the UK will launch its new SVP (Special Vehicle Projects) programme with the debut of the Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian SVP at the 2017 Commercial Vehicle Show, held at the NEC, Birmingham April 25 - 27.
Designed to provide Mitsubishi customers with exclusive, highly distinctive vehicles, Mitsubishi SVP models will be produced in small volumes with significant appearance changes and specific colour options.

Inspired by the one-off Mitsubishi L200 Desert Warrior ‘Pre-runner’, that also features on the Mitsubishi Motors UK stand (Hall 4, stand 4G90), the Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian SVP will be limited to a production run of 250 with half available in Electric Blue metallic and the other half in Cosmos Black.
Building on the generous specification of the highly-successful Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian Double Cab, the SVP version features a more aggressive and eye-catching look via revisions to the exterior and interior.
Most noticeable are the additions of 17-inch bespoke black alloy wheels with BF Goodrich all-terrain tyres, shrouded by exclusive new wheel arch extensions, while the purposeful look is reinforced by an all-new grille and an exclusive black finish on the headlamp and tail lamp bezels, fog lamp surrounds, roof rails and rear bumper.
Completing the Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian SVP’s unique exterior features are shark fin-inspired side steps, load bed illumination, puddle lamps, soft-opening tailgate damper and an SVP emblem on the tailgate.
Inside, the limited-edition model has Barbarian-inspired ‘six-pack’ leather seats with suede-like ‘Alston’ inserts. Each vehicle’s individual limited edition number and the SVP logo are also stitched into the headrests. Front and rear foot-well mood lighting together with illuminated Barbarian door entry guards add to the special feel of the interior.
Standard features of the Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian SVP also include rain and dusk sensors, keyless entry, satellite navigation, Bluetooth, Bi-Xenon headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights, cruise control and reversing camera.
Power is provided by the proven and efficient 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine, which produces 180hp and 430Nm of torque, while the rotary-dial controlled Super Select 4WD system can be combined with a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel paddle shifters.
The Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian SVP is available to order now and is priced from £28,479 (excluding VAT) for both blue and black versions.

GENEVA - Lamborghini shows the Centenario and the Huracan LP 610-4 Avio, both stunning cars.

Alongside the Lamborghini Centenario, the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 Avio will make its debut at this year's Geneva Motor Show. Produced in a run of only 250, this special edition's name, colors and materials pay tribute to the world of aviation and aeronautics.
From the outset, Lamborghini has been inspired by powerful fighter jets, from which it has borrowed technological, aerodynamic, ergonomic and stylistic solutions. References to the aeronautical world in Lamborghini's current product line include digital instrument clusters; controls located on the center console as in airplane cockpits; the red engine 'start' button; the tight stylistic language of exterior lines; and a broad range of matt exterior finishes.

The new Huracán Avio offers a host of premium functional features in its standard configuration including lifting system, cruise control and GPS*. But the true uniqueness of the Avio lies in its interior and exterior finishes. White or grey painted details contrast with the body color and enhance exterior details such as the tops of the side member, the side view mirrors and the lip on the front spoiler. A double stripe, again in white or grey, runs along the roof and down the front bonnet.
The door panels further identify the special Avio version with the logo L63, where L stands for Lamborghini and '63 is the year the company was founded. A tricolor cockade, the symbol distinguishing nationality used in aeronautics, is placed between the letter and the number.
The Huracán Avio is available in five new color variants, specifically developed for this model: the standard color of Grigio Falco with pearlescent finish, and four optional matt colors: Blu Grifo, Grigio Nibbio, Grigio Vulcano and Verde Turbine.
The colors' names are taken from the coats-of-arms representing courses at the Italian Air Force Academy. Lamborghini's Ad Personam customization program allows owners to choose from further color and trim options not included as standard.
The interiors alternate black leather with a special Alcantara, which is also in black but boasts a laser-engraved hexagonal motif, available for the first time on the Avio. The material covers the central section of the seat, the armrest, the knee support and part of the door panel, and is enhanced with contrasting stitching in white.
The L63 logo is embroidered by hand onto the sides of the seats. The interior color and trim can also be customized through the Ad Personam program. Underscoring the exclusivity of this new special edition is a hand-enameled plate on the driver's side window.
The Avio has all the technical specifications that have made the Huracán a great success: aspirated 610 HP, 5.2 liter, V10 engine; 7-speed gearbox with double clutch; hybrid chassis in aluminum and carbon fiber; a power/weight ratio of only 2.33 kilograms per hp and breathtaking performance: 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.2 seconds and a maximum speed of over 325 km/h.
The Avio is scheduled to reach dealers' showrooms in the summer of 2016.

LATEST NEWS - Jaguar to launch Project 7 SVO at Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The spectacular Jaguar F-type Project 7 super-roadster – toast of last year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed – is being put into limited production.
Jaguar is using the car as the centrepiece for the launch of its new Special Operations (SO) division whose job will be to produce a suite of cars and services specifically designed for the Jaguar faithful.
The division, eventually intended as a kind of cross between Bentley’s Mulliner and Mercedes’ AMG, is headed by former Land Rover brand boss John Edwards, who has spent the past nine months defining its structure, staffing and activities.
The production-ready Project 7 flagship adapts the F-type’s contemporary styling and hardware to create a car that recalls the all-conquering Le Mans-winning D-type, whose 60th anniversary the firm is celebrating this year. The ‘7’ signifies Jaguar’s pride at having won Le Mans seven times since the early 1950s, although bosses say that there is no plan for an imminent racing return.

Up to 250 examples will be built, and regular Jaguar dealers will sell them at £135,000 each. With an electronically governed top speed of 186mph and a 0-60mph sprint time of just 3.8sec, this will be one of the quickest production Jaguars ever.
This latest, production-spec Project 7 looks very similar to last year’s concept but differs in almost every detail and surface because of its need to comply with production car legislation and to maintain aerodynamic stability up to its governed 186mph top speed.

Production models will be hand-built during 2015 by the new JLR sub-division called Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) and headed by Paul Newsome, the ex-Lotus, ex-Williams engineer who was chief of the recent C-X75 hybrid supercar project.
The Project 7 idea was born about 18 months ago, from the pen of a young JLR designer, Cesar Pieri, in the group’s Whitley design studio. The sketches caught the eye of design boss Ian Callum, who gave them the go-ahead because he already knew that the company was looking for a car to wow the crowds at Goodwood 2013 – which the original Project 7 subsequently did in the hands of Jaguar engineer and master wheelman Mike Cross.
The enthusiastic reaction to the car, not least from potential buyers, convinced Edwards and Co that Project 7 would make an ideal flagship for its new division.

Essentially, the car is an F-type roadster relieved of its heavy hood mechanism and fitted with lightweight seats that carve a cool 80kg off the kerb weight and leave it at a respectable 1585kg.
Compared with the regular roadster, Project 7 has a new front bumper and splitter, a cut-down windscreen, a prominent fairing (incorporating a rollover bar) behind the driver’s head, new side skirts and diffuser and a deck-mounted wing.
The interior is obviously F-type, but there are all-new carbonfibre-backed quilted seats, the steering wheel is Alcantara-covered and some clever colour highlights give the car a character of its own. Each example gets a uniquely numbered plaque located between the seats and signed by Ian Callum.
The engine is an improved version of Jaguar’s familiar supercharged 5.0-litre V8. Peak power is  567bhp, available at 6500rpm, and peak torque is 502lb ft from 2500-5500rpm.
Power flows to the driven 20-inch rear wheels (and their optional fat Continental ContiForceContact tyres) first through a specially modified version of ZF’s eight-speed automatic gearbox (controlled, as in all Jaguars, by shift paddles) and then to a rear-mounted electronic limited-slip differential.
Project 7’s switchable exhaust (silenced or straight-through) has four matt-painted tailpipes, ceramic-coated so that they don’t set fire to the nearby diffuser.
The chassis gets special, SVO-manufactured front suspension uprights to increase negative camber, plus modifications to the front top mounts and fatter anti-roll bars front and rear. The whole system is height adjustable at both ends, and Project 7 now has spring and damper rates tailored to its special duties. The usual adaptive dynamics control the body very well, engineers say.
The brakes consist of carbon-ceramic rotors – 398mm in diameter at the front and 380mm behind – with six-piston and four-piston calipers respectively. These are usually offered as an option on regular V8s, but Project 7 gets them as standard.
Electronic co-operation between these, the electronic diff and the car’s built-in stability control provides helpful brake-controlled torque vectoring (to optimise traction and turn-in) and increases steering feel, engineers say. Compared with a standard F-type V8, drivers should expect firmer damping, more steering weight, faster gearchanges and quicker throttle response.
As a result of its extensive aero modifications, the production Project 7 develops 177 per cent more downforce at top speed than a standard F-type convertible. In production, the car is now a proper two-seater (it was originally proposed as transport for one) and there is even a temporary fabric roof that clips to the convertible’s header rail and can be stowed in the car’s notably shallow luggage compartment of about 200 litres’ capacity.
Head of Special Operations John Edwards expects lively demand for the production Project 7, although he has no orders yet because the idea is only being announced this week. He expects to sell cars in South Africa, Australia, Russia, Brazil and Asia-Pacific as well as the US and Europe. US specifications will differ a little from the rest and will be revealed in late summer. Deliveries will start in mid-2015 and should be complete within the year.

Vauxhall Motors launches ADAM Black and ADAM White Limited Editions

Vauxhall Motors has launched a limited edition of 250 ADAMs creating even more levels of personalisation for the urban chic city car.  The ADAM Black Edition and ADAM White Edition take their design cues from a smartphone, encompassing optimal connectivity and a sleek and stylish feel.

The Vauxhall ADAM is the best connected small car in its segment and the new ADAM Black Edition and ADAM White Edition come with Vauxhall’s IntelliLink infotainment system and Siri Eyes Free voice control fitted as standard.  They reflect typical smartphone looks in black or white, with accents in brushed aluminium effect.

“The ADAM Black Edition and ADAM White Edition models resemble sophisticated smartphones on wheels,” says Duncan Aldred, Chairman and Managing Director, Vauxhall Motors.  “The ADAM combines innovative technologies with countless personalisation possibilities which are not available in its segment.  With these new models, our urban chic city car once again shows that it is the best connected small car and a true individualisation champion all wrapped up in one.”

ADAM drivers who have an iOS 6 – or later – compatible iPhone can comfortably and safely activate the Siri Eyes Free function via steering wheel controls and operate it with voice commands while keeping their hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road.

Ultra-modern technology and design is mirrored in the looks of the special ADAM Black Edition and ADAM White Edition models. The ADAM comes in ‘I’ll be Black’ metallic paint or ‘Saturday White Fever’ brilliant paint exterior colours. The rest of the exterior carries a brushed, aluminum-look including the side mirror housings, and grille bar carrying the Vauxhall logo.  In addition, there are tinted rear windows and 18-inch wheels in a Twister design with matching brushed aluminium finish wheel clips. The black or white lacquered standard roof spoiler, as well as the characteristically shaped headlamps with LED daytime running lights and LED rear lights ensure the car stand-outs amongst its rivals. The sport chassis provides plenty of driving fun with its direct response and sports pedals.

Inside the cabin, the seats, instruments and applications continue the exterior colour scheme. In the ADAM Black Edition, all occupants enjoy the comfort of Ocio Black Morrocana seat trim cushions. While the centre console and instrument panel are piano black, the door trims, glove box, leather gear knob and handbrake handle are in contrasting bright white. The counterpart to this is the ADAM White Edition version, with its own colour scheme: the seats are Ocio White Morrocana also mirrored in the instrument panel and centre console.

The ADAM Black Edition and ADAM White Edition is priced at £14,995 (1.4 87PS), available across the UK.  For further information please visit http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/vehicles/vauxhall-range/cars/adam/black-and-white/adam-white-black-edition.html
