Nissan is set to give the Pulsar a sporting edge with the launch of a new, range-topping DIG-T 190 engine. Available with three trim grade options, the punchy 190PS turbocharged petrol engine has been developed alongside a range of styling, suspension and chassis upgrades that deliver a sportier, more focussed driving experience.
Available to order now, the Pulsar 1.6 DIG-T 190 is the sportiest and most powerful engine to be offered in the range – further broadening Nissan’s appeal in the hatchback market. One of the most advanced engines in the sector, it develops maximum torque output of 240Nm from 2,000rpm (up to 4,000rpm) and delivers impressive in-gear flexibility and acceleration (0-62mph 7.7secs).

Engineered to provide exceptional responses at low engine speeds, it delivers sharp performance and the agile responses that characterise Nissan’s performance offerings.
While the 1.6 DIG-T engine has the firepower to match larger engines, its fuel consumption and emissions are that of a much smaller unit – a major advantage of Nissan's downsizing philosophy. Creating ‘more with less' has been a Nissan priority for a number of years, and the Pulsar DIG-T 190 is the perfect example of why. Despite its athletic performance, it returns 49.5mpg* and has CO2 emissions from just 134g/km.**
And it’s not just the engine that enhances the new DIG-T 190. Nissan knows that it takes more than just power to create sporting driving experience, and has engineered a new chassis set-up designed to make the most of the extra performance on offer.
The package of upgrades includes a new power steering set-up that has been fine-tuned to give more direct feedback and quicker responses. Front spring and damper settings have also been revised with increased stiffness and spring length to improve body control while maintaining ride comfort. The body shell itself has also been stiffened with additional reinforcements engineered to further improve torsional rigidity. New rear dampers and wider 18-inch wheels complete the dynamic package.
The engine is fully compliant with new Euro6 standards and features a host of technical innovations, including newly tuned ESP set-up, shorter gearing for sharper acceleration, low friction technologies and cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation.
All DIG-T 190 models feature a package of styling features designed to complement their sporting nature. Available in Acenta, n-tec and Tekna trim grades, all DIG-T 190 models feature a number of upgraded items as standard. These include bespoke alloy wheels (17-inch as standard on Acenta and n-tec, and 18-inch for Tekna) finished in a diamond cut two-tone black and silver and a unique, sportier headlamp design which comes with a black finish to the bezel providing a greater contrast to the chrome finished projector. At the rear, a chrome exhaust finisher is fitted to further enhance the sporty look and feel.
Inside, the 1.6 DIG-T powered models include a unique trim finisher that extends the full width of the dashboard, distinctive white stitching on the three-spoke steering wheel and leather seats (Tekna models only) to complete the interior design package.
The Nissan Pulsar DIG-T 190 is available now and is priced from £19,645.

To improve ride comfort, the rear spring and damper rates have been altered, while changes to the carpets and inner rear wheel arch protector have further reduced road noise.
GT-R NISMO: Power and performance perfected
First unveiled in production form at the 2014 Paris Motor Show and now officially on sale in Europe, the GT-R NISMO is fastest and most advanced Nissan performance production car ever.
The GT-R NISMO is powered by a 600PS, 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine that has been extensively modified by NISMO engineers. Combined with a revised aerodynamic package that generates an additional 100kg of downforce and a bespoke suspension set-up fine-tuned in Europe, it makes the latest GT-R the most remarkable to date.
