Milton Keynes, 5 March 2013 – As the all-new ŠKODA Octavia Estate makes its world debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, prices and specifications for the UK range have been revealed. Setting new standards for space, practicality, versatility and quality in the compact segment, the 13-model range is available in ŠKODA’s familiar three trims, S, SE and Elegance.
On sale in the UK from June 2013, prices for the all-new Octavia Estate start at just £16,790 (OTR) for the 1.2-litre TSI 105PS S. The flagship 2.0-litre TDI CR 150PS DPF DSG Elegance model costs £24,040 (OTR). Diesel versions start from £18,840 (OTR). The premium for the Estate over its Hatch sibling is £800.
The new Octavia Estate will be available in the UK with four advanced engine options: two petrol and two diesel. Power outputs range from 105PS (1.2 TSI, 1.6 TDI CR) to 150PS for the 2.0 TDI 150PS model.
Engines are up to 17% more economical than the previous generation units, and a fuel-efficient GreenLine version, available in the UK later in 2013, will offer CO2 emissions of only 87 g/km.
The fleet sector will make a significant contribution to Octavia Estate sales, and with BIK starting at just 14% (2013-2014 rate), the Octavia Estate’s appeal is obvious. The ŠKODA Octavia is the brand’s most popular model across all markets, and the Estate remains at the heart of its ambition to grow market share.
Alasdair Stewart, Brand Director for ŠKODA UK, commented: “The Octavia Estate offers unrivalled space and comfort, functionality, fuel efficient engines and many ‘Simply Clever’ ideas, yet these prices prove it’s still exceptional value for money. We expect it to prove very popular with UK customers.”

Class leading space
At 4.66 metres long, the car is 90 mm longer than its predecessor and at 1.81 metres (excluding side mirrors); it is also 45 mm wider. To ensure the new Octavia Estate offers class-leading interior space and legroom the wheelbase has grown by almost 110 mm. Leg room at the rear has increased by 73 mm, and headroom at the front and rear of the car has also been improved; front - 983 mm (compared to 981 mm in previous generation Octavia), rear - 995 mm as (compared to 984 mm). Passenger elbow room has also grown considerably: 1,454 mm, (+39 mm) in the front and 1,449 mm (+26 mm) at the rear. Additionally, shoulder room in the Estate has also been significantly optimised to 1,398 mm (+19 mm) in the front and to 1,378 mm (+4 mm) at the rear.
The Boot space measures 610 litres (20 litres more than the new Octavia Hatch) – a record for the segment – and expands to a massive 1,740 litres with the rear seats down. That’s an impressive 85 litres more than its predecessor. With the front passenger seat folded down the car will carry objects up to 2.92 metres in length.
The new ŠKODA Octavia Estate’s boot opening offers improved access, making loading extremely easy; the tailgate opening is 1,070 mm in height, 9 mm more than its predecessor. The boot’s width is a maximum 1,070 mm (compared with 1,061 mm) and the loading sill is a mere 631 mm, (-6 mm).
Simply Clever
The ŠKODA Octavia Estate is available with ‘Simply Clever’ features which make life easier, including a double-sided boot floor mat, a comprehensive net restraint system, multiple bag hooks and a waste bin.
The spacious cabin comes with numerous cubby holes for bottles, keys and multimedia devices, plus there’s an ice scraper behind the fuel flap and a warning-vest holder under the driver’s seat. There is also space for a luggage compartment retractable parcel shelf and roof bars under the adjustable and retractable variable boot floor.
Black roof rails are standard across the range, while SE and Elegance benefit from a remote fold-down function for the rear seats.
Innovative technology and comfort
The new Octavia offers a number of advanced technologies normally reserved for higher-segment vehicles. In addition to making their debut in the new Octavia, some of them are becoming available for the first time ever in a ŠKODA.
Among these new features is the Adaptive Cruise Assistant – a system that automatically maintains a pre-set distance to the car ahead.
The new Intelligent Light Assistant (standard on Elegance) will switch to high beam and back automatically, increasing comfort and safety in traffic.
The Automatic Parking Assistant makes parallel and bay parking the Octavia even easier. Also available for the first time (as part of the optional Columbus sat nav system), is traffic sign recognition.
Driving Mode Selection enables drivers to set certain vehicle driving characteristics at the push of the button (standard from SE).
In developing the new ŠKODA Octavia, an important goal was to make the car even safer. To achieve this, ŠKODA engineers developed a host of cutting-edge safety systems for the new Octavia. Modern safety assistants available include, Automatic Post-Collision Brake, Front Assistant with City Emergency Braking Function, the Driver Fatigue sensor, the Crew Protection Assistant or the Lane Assistant to keep you inside the lanes.
An electric panoramic sliding/tilting sunroof is also available for the new ŠKODA Octavia Estate. Comprising two parts - the front part can be tilted and shifted electrically, while the rear section is fixed - the entire roof module is made of tinted, heat-insulated glass and is 1,362 x 870 mm in size. The glass will reflect 95 per cent of irradiated heat and 93 per cent of irradiated light.
