Jaguar's F-Type tops survey to be the cover model on last ever Auto Trader

  • Jaguar F-TYPE tops Auto Trader reader survey to find which car from the past four decades should adorn the cover of its last ever print issue
  • A total of 47,107 entries were submitted with each entrant able to select their favourite cars from the past four decades, up to a maximum of five.
  • F-TYPE received a total of 27,100 votes, placing it firmly ahead of the 35 other iconic cars shortlisted by the Auto Trader editorial team

The new Jaguar F-TYPE has topped a reader survey to earn pride of place on the cover of the last ever print issue of Auto Trader magazine. The Auto Trader editorial team compiled a list of 36 iconic cars, reflecting its 36-year heritage, and asked its readers to vote online for their favorite. A total of 47,107 entries were submitted with each entrant selecting up to five cars from the shortlist. The Jaguar F-TYPE, the brand’s first two-seater sports car since the iconic E-Type, topped the poll with a total of 27,100 votes.

Jon Quirk, Auto Trader Editor-in-Chief, said: “The F-TYPE is a debut that’s every bit as brave and beautiful as the original E-Type, and a car that deserves its place on the final cover of Auto Trader magazine. Like Auto Trader, Jaguar thrives on its ability to adapt; its desire to innovate while remaining respectful of its heritage and, most importantly, its commitment to keeping customers at the core.”

Established in 1977, Auto Trader quickly became the UK’s most popular car buying and selling publication and at its peak in 2000 had a circulation of 368,000. As users and advertisers migrated online Auto Trader has maintained its status by responding and adapting accordingly and today, the Auto Trader website attracts more than 11 million unique users every month and currently has 400,000 new and used cars for sale. In addition, the editorial team has produced more than 800 expert car reviews and the site currently hosts 36,000 owner reviews.
