About the 2017 Nissan Maxima
Maxima's cutting edge exterior starts with a distinctive upscale look that embodies the latest Nissan design language through its unique combination of a lower profile and a wide stance, bold front end, Nissan signature V-Motion grille and floating roof appearance. Maxima's lighting features define its presence on the road with boomerang-style headlights and taillights, LED daytime running lights and two-piece taillights. Large dual exhaust tailpipe finishers and 18-inch machined-finished aluminum-alloy wheels (19-inch wheels on the Maxima SR grade) complement the look. The 2017 Maxima is available in nine exterior colors, including two Maxima-exclusive exterior colors – Forged Bronze and Coulis Red.

Maxima's stunning interior design is anchored by a command central driver's cockpit that features optimal reach to all controls and a center stack angled toward the driver. The Display Commander control, located on the console, allows fingertip control of the center display. The bespoke-style interior offers genuine stitching on the instrument panel, doors and console, available LED Interior Accent Lighting, available Ascot premium leather seating surfaces with diamond-quilted inserts (also available in Alcantara®), unique faceted finishers and a sporty D-shape (flat-bottom) steering wheel.
In addition, luxury-level interior quietness is enabled by an Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) system that works much like noise cancelling headphones, helping reduce unpleasant low-frequency sounds. An Active Sound Enhancement (ASE) system, which works by enhancing existing engine sound from the 3.5-liter V6 into the cabin (Bose® audio equipped models only), is standard on SV, SR and Platinum grades.
Maxima's 3.5-liter VQ-series V6 engine applies lessons learned from the legendary Nissan GT-R, such as sodium-filled valves, to meet needs of the higher compression ratio and combustion temperatures. With 300 horsepower, it achieves a high specific output (HP/L) of 85.7 horsepower/liter. Highway fuel economy is rated at 30 miles per gallon***.
Complementing the 3.5-liter V6 is a performance-oriented Xtronic transmission featuring a wide ratio range, which allows for strong acceleration from a standing start and a D-Step shifting logic that provides rapid shifts at high throttle openings.
Maxima's refined handling and ride comfort starts with a redesigned platform (versus the previous generation) that features increased use of high strength steel and a revised 4-wheel independent suspension with monotube rear shock absorbers. The sporty Maxima SR grade features unique suspension damper tuning, a larger front stabilizer bar and 19-inch wheels and tires to add even more performance.
The 2017 Maxima also offers an extensive range of safety, security and driving aids, including Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Forward Emergency Braking (FEB), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and Blind Spot Warning (BSW). These features are standard on Maxima SL, SR and Platinum grades. Maxima also offers an available Driver Attention Alert (DAA) system****, which learns each individual driver's steering patterns and helps alert the driver when drowsy or inattentive driving is detected (Maxima Platinum only).
The 2017 Nissan Maxima is assembled in Smyrna, Tennessee, with engines assembled in Decherd, Tennessee.

  • All-new 2015 Nissan Murano set to arrive December 5th at Nissan dealers nationwide, with a starting M.S.R.P.* of $29,560
  • New 2015 Nissan JUKE, with revised styling and enhanced standard content, shown for first time in North America, goes on sale today
  • New JUKE "Color Studio" personalization program announced – offers unique way to customize Nissan's popular sport cross with a choice of 12 accessories in a range of 8 colors
  • Press conference also highlights Nissan's ongoing support of the Heisman Trophy Trust's charitable efforts
Nissan brought a splash of brass and color to the Los Angeles Auto Show today during a press conference featuring the debut of two new vehicles, the launch of a unique vehicle personalization program and an appearance by local Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Allen.

Sharing center stage at the Nissan display were the all-new 2015 Nissan Murano crossover, making its official debut in full production trim, and the revised Nissan JUKE sport cross.

"While Murano has always stood out from ordinary crossovers with its refined yet daring and futuristic design, this new third-generation design kicks it up tremendously with concept car-like styling, a premium interior and advanced, purposeful technology," said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operations U.S., Nissan North America, Inc.

"Less than two years ago this vehicle was turning heads at auto shows as the Resonance Concept.

In just a few weeks from now, buyers will be able to drive this stunning all-new Murano home."

The new 2015 Nissan JUKE sport cross features a revised exterior and enhanced standard equipment – with a starting M.S.R.P.* announced today of $20,250. While keeping its same dimensions and aggressive stance as previous years, the 2015 JUKE offers a fresh front end look with its new projector beam headlights and LED front Signature Accent Lamps, while the redesigned rear fascia features a more aggressive shape to match the revised boomerang taillights with LED accents.

New standard JUKE features include Nissan Intelligent Key® with Push Button Start, RearView Monitor and NissanConnectSM with Mobile Apps, Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, Streaming audio via Bluetooth®, and Hands-free Text Messaging Assistant.

Three new exterior colors are offered for 2015 – Super Black and hard-to-ignore Solar Yellow and Cosmic Blue.
"JUKE owners have always enjoyed standing out from the crowd and getting noticed," said Diaz. "And now we're adding an entirely new dimension of personalization with the unique JUKE ‘Color Studio' program. Color changes everything."

The JUKE "Color Studio" gives JUKE buyers and owners the ability to personalize both the exterior and interior with a range of "color packs" to change the look and feel of the vehicle. For example, new accessory 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels are available with color inserts to match or contrast the body color.

Special color accents can also be applied to the outside rearview mirror caps, side sills, rear roof spoiler and door handles. Interior color packs will be offered for the door trim and other elements. Eight colors are available – including red, white, black, yellow, electric blue and purple – and a total of 12 accessories. For full details on the JUKE "Color Studio," please visit www.NissanNews.com.

There was one last piece of priceless hardware on display during today's event, the Heisman Memorial Trophy, which annually recognizes the outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity.

Marcus Allen, the 1981 Heisman Trophy winner from the University of Southern California, joined Diaz on stage to acknowledge Nissan's ongoing support of the Heisman Trust's year-round community support and charitable efforts. Nissan also features past Heisman Trophy winners in its popular "Heisman House" and "Heisman House Tour" marketing campaigns. The 2014 Heisman Trophy will be presented December 13th in New York City.

"Nissan is proud to partner with the Heisman Trust in their longstanding charity efforts and looks forward to continuing our association for many years to come," added Diaz.

USA - Infiniti celelbrates 25th anniversary at Los Angeles with a tech fest.

  • Infiniti leads in pioneering enhanced driving assistance technologies
  • In its brief 25 year history, Infiniti has been first to offer many driver assistance technologies
  • The Infiniti Q80 Inspiration Concept, on display at the Los Angeles Auto Show, continues this tradition
Infiniti Motor Company, Ltd. is commemorating its 25th year anniversary with a look forward to the future with the Q80 Inspiration Concept. Making its North American debut at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Q80 Inspiration Concept foreshadows the next generation of leading Infiniti technologies.

In its brief 25 year history, Infiniti was the first automaker to offer many technologies which are now common, including:

RearView Monitor

Infiniti brought the RearView Monitor, or back-up camera, to market more than a dozen years ago on the 2002 Infiniti Q45. This type of technology is now slated to be mandated on all cars sold in the U.S. in 2018.

Around View®Monitor

Infiniti was first to offer an Around View® Monitor on the 2008 Infiniti EX35, a four-corner, virtual 360-degree, bird's-eye view of the vehicle when parking. This driver aid was later enhanced by adding Moving Object Detection, which can help alert drivers to the presence of animals, pedestrians or other moving objects around the parking vehicle.

Lane Departure Warning

Infiniti pioneered Lane Departure Warning on the 2005 Infiniti FX, designed to help address the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) findings that showed more than half of all traffic fatalities were due to some type of lane departure. Infiniti then expanded and enhanced its warning system with the world's first Lane Departure Prevention system on the 2008 Infiniti M, which helps the driver bring the vehicle back into the lane of intended travel.

Blind Spot Intervention

Infiniti introduced Blind Spot Intervention® (BSI) on the 2011 Infiniti M. Engineered to alert the driver of a vehicle in the adjacent lane during lane change maneuvers, BSI can help the driver bring the vehicle back into the lane.

Backup Collision Intervention™

Infiniti's Backup Collision Intervention™ system, first introduced on the 2013 Infiniti JX, detects cross traffic and large stationary objects behind the vehicle when backing up and can both warn the driver and engage the brakes momentarily to help the driver avoid an impending collision.

Predictive Forward Collision Warning

A world's first system that can warn the driver of risks that may be obscured from the driver's view, Infiniti introduced Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW) on the 2014 Infiniti Q50. PFCW can not only sense the relative velocity and distance of a vehicle directly ahead, but also of a vehicle travelling in front of that, alerting the driver to slowing or stopped traffic directly ahead.

Direct Adaptive Steering

In 2013, Infiniti became the first automaker to introduce a "steer-by-wire" system in a production car. The 2014 Infiniti Q50 offers Infiniti's Direct Adaptive Steering™ which, transmits steering inputs electronically instead of mechanically, providing quicker and more precise response, as well as unsurpassed levels of customization. Direct Adaptive Steering lets the driver personalize steering modes, effort and response, while reducing the transmission of negative feedback from rough roads through the steering column.

Active Lane Control

Infiniti's Active Lane Control system, first offered on the 2014 Q50, senses unintended lane drift and can automatically make slight changes to the tire angles and steering wheel torque, helping the driver to make fewer manual steering corrections in freeway driving situations.

Many of these technologies are now offered on every Infiniti model.  A comprehensive list can be found athttp://www.infinitiusa.com/now/technology/.

Each of these technologies has been designed to make driving more enjoyable and less stressful, but they are also important building blocks for the enhanced driving experience of the future.

Infiniti's latest concept, the Q80 Inspiration, builds on the brand's heritage of driver enhancement technologies and offers a glimpse into the future of driving, incorporating both active and passive safety features and wrapping them in stunning sheet metal that showcases potential future design themes to be found in upcoming products from the automaker.

From the outside, the Q80's striking four-door fastback-style design underscores the advanced technologies found within the car. The Q80 Inspiration includes a technology suite of cameras, lasers, sensors and artificial intelligence which provide an ongoing dialogue between the vehicle and driver via a Head-Up Display (HUD) projected on the windshield.

The system suggests a course of action, which can be employed by the driver through a button on the steering wheel. The final decision—whether to accelerate and overtake or to brake and fall in behind the car ahead, for example—always rests with the driver.

In addition to offering next-generation enhanced driving capabilities, the Q80 Inspiration features an efficient-yet-powerful twin-turbo 3.0-liter hybrid electric V6 powering all four wheels and capable of producing as much as 560-hp, while returning fuel economy of nearly 45 mpg.
Inside, drivers and passengers of the Q80 Inspiration are greeted by a refined interior.

Anchored by four bucket-style seats that – like the rest of the cabin – are finished in a mixture of leather, Alcantara® and metal, occupants are bathed in natural light from the car's sculpted panoramic glass roof.

The Infiniti Q80 Inspiration, along with the complete lineup of 2015 Infiniti performance luxury vehicles, including Infiniti's full-size luxury SUV, the QX80 Limited, will be on display throughout the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, November 21 – 30, at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
