Ssangyong Motor UK gets one of the best jobs of the year, official partner at the Silverstone Classic.

  • Korea’s oldest vehicle manufacturer comes to the Classic
  • Official Courtesy Car Partner
  • Silver models join special Silver Jubilee parade
The organiser of the Silverstone Classic (24-26 July) is delighted to announce that SsangYong Motor UK has been appointed as the Official Courtesy Car Partner for this summer’s very special Silver Jubilee extravaganza.

Moreover, the long-established Korean manufacturer will be getting right into the spirit of the 25th anniversary event by providing no fewer than 50 of its latest models, all with sparkling silver paintwork.

The wide selection of Rexton, Korando, Korando Sports, Turismo and recently launched Tivoli vehicles will be kept busy throughout the record-breaking three-day festival ferrying VIPs, competitors, media and event organisers around the massive Silverstone venue.

A number of the silver SsangYongs will also be participating in Sunday’s dazzling Silver Jubilee track parade that will see hundreds of old and new silver machines all taking to the legendary Grand Prix circuit to mark the 25-year milestone.

“We are proud to have this opportunity to demonstrate our fleet in this high profile motor sport arena,” said Paul Williams, CEO of SsangYong Motor UK. “Our brand has been established for some 61 years, and therefore our heritage complements that of the Silverstone Classic grids.”

“SsangYong is Korea’s oldest vehicle manufacturer and thus a perfect partner for the World’s Biggest Classic Motor Racing Festival,” confirmed Nick Wigley, event director.

“I've no doubt the Classic will provide the perfect platform for SsangYong to showcase its latest range to what is always a very discerning and opinion-forming audience.”

All tickets for the 25th anniversary Silverstone Classic must be purchased in advance. Adult admission starts from £40 and ticket prices include booking fees, parking, access to paddocks, infield, grandstands, live music and the vast majority of the numerous attractions. There’s a £25 upgrade for silver car owners wishing to join Sunday’s special Silver Jubilee track parade.
