Kellett has mixed Knockhill race positions, but over all a good weekend.

LAP ONE

Saturday saw the first race of the weekend with James in fourth after qualifying, With Lando Norris on pole with Senna Proctor and Jack Mitchell in second and third, unfortunately for James, he slowly headed backwards and finished the first race of the meeting in seventh, with Lando, jack and Senna taking the three podium positions.

RACE TWO

With James on pole position for the second race of the Knockhill weekend, it is looking like he is going to build upon his good results so far over the last few weeks, 

Lando Norris in 2nd place will try to get past, but James gets a strong start with Lando 2nd, after the first few corners, there is a tiny gap being pulled by the front three, and with no issues so far, these youngsters are showing that they are a force to be reckoned with, but as the first lap is complete Lando pulls forward and James goes back one place.

The front two are now slightly pulling away, with Lando being pushed hard by James, as they pass the start finish line to start lap three, the front two have pulled away from 3rd position, and with a train of cars following back from third, these guys and girls are really pushing for all they are worth, Lando is now pulling away from James as they finish lap three and starting four.

James will not let him pull away and as half the lap is complete, the pair are fighting hard, and James just storms past Lando on the final bend to take first, a couple of cars have left the track, with one in a precarious position, but no safety car has been called as yet, James is now the guy being pushed by Norris and James is defending, and Chadwick is now pushing for 2nd, the lap continues with James still in the lead, with a train of three behind.

The gap has now pulled a little more and James knows he must pull a significant gap to be safe from further attack as the laps progress, lap 7 starts with a nice gap, and a bigger one between Lando Norris and third place Chadwick, the fighting for position is as hard lower down the field as it is at the top, but James is still there, and not taking it for granted, the gap has remained the same, as lap eight of 12 is starting, and with another car leaving the track and swiftly coming back on, the fighting is getting fierce.

Lap nine carries on as before with James in the lead, with Lando right behind, but now the gap back to third, is quite significant, but neither of the two up front know their positions are safe, until they go over that finish line for the last time, lap ten comes around with the front two, in procession, with Lando just a little bit closer, but James wont let them worry him, and will carry on defending and racing hard to the end.

The gap now between two and three and three and the rest is now nearly the full length of the start finish straight, with the rest now in a line of about nine cars, James has pulled slightly ahead on the final lap with a sixth tenths gap, its looking like a great result again for James, and with a new sponsor on the horizon, his future is well assured, the final corner, and on to the chequered flag and James win with Lando Norris 2nd, a brilliant race for all involved and another brilliant win for James along with the fastest lap, a great final race of the weekend.

This win now puts James 2nd in the league 76 points behind Jack Mitchell, with Lando Norris in third, and with Rockingham the next race weekend, james will be fighting hard for pole positions and wins in both races.

USA RECALL 9 - 15,956 Certain Chrysler, Jeep and RAM models for possible insufficient weld.

SUMMARY:

Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2014 Jeep Cherokee and Ram 1500 and 2015 Chrysler 200 vehicles. Due to an insufficient weld, the rear shocks may detach from the vehicle at one end and possibly damage other chassis components, the tire or result in reduced braking.

CONSEQUENCE:

Damage to the tire or reduced braking increases the risk of a vehicle crash.

REMEDY:

Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the rear shocks and replace any affected ones, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in August 2014. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is P37.

USA RECALL 8 - 81 Jaguar XF models recalled for possible Power Assisted Steering Issues.

SUMMARY:

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 XF (XFR-S) vehicles manufactured July 2, 2013, to April 11, 2014. A component within the Power Assist Steering system (PAS) may collapse and restrict fluid flow within the PAS hose causing a loss of power steering.

CONSEQUENCE:

The reduction of power steering assist can increase the steering effort needed, increasing the risk of a crash.

REMEDY:

Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will install an improved PAS hose, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on August 29, 2014. Owners may contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is J042.

USA RECALL 7 - 144 Jaguar XK modes for incorrect info for tyre pressures on the placard.

SUMMARY:

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 XK (XKR and XKR-S) vehicles manufactured August 24, 2012, to June 10, 2014, and equipped with a 5.0L engine. The tire placard has incorrect information for the spare tire stating "none" for the inflation pressure of the spare wheel. Thus, these vehicles do not comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 110, "Tire Selection and Rims for Passenger Cars."

CONSEQUENCE:

If the recommended pressure for the spare tire is not provided, the tire may not be properly inflated which may result in its failure, increasing the risk of a crash.

REMEDY:

Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicles and, as necessary, attach a corrected tire placard label stating the tire size and pressure, free of charge. USA RECALL 6 - 2,990 Buick/Chevy models for engine block heater issues.

SUMMARY:

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Buick Encore all-wheel-drive vehicles manufactured August 23, 2012, to September 9, 2013; Verano vehicles manufactured August 8, 2012, to June 20, 2013; Chevrolet Cruze vehicles manufactured August 7, 2012, to August 16, 2013, and 2012-2014 Chevrolet Sonic vehicles manufactured May 10, 2011, to August 16, 2012 equipped with a Calix oil pan/block heater. In cold temperatures, the insulation on the engine block heater cord can become damaged, allowing the wires to be exposed.

CONSEQUENCE:

Exposed wires increase the risk of electrical shock and personal injury if the cord is handled while it is plugged in.

REMEDY:

GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the engine oil pan/block heater cord with a new cord that is rated for temperatures of minus 40 degree Celsius. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. USA RECALL 5 - 9,371 2007-2011 Chevy Silverado & GMC Sierra 2500/3500 HD models.

SUMMARY:

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2007-2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD 2500/3500 trucks manufactured January 18, 2007, to June 22, 2011, and GMC Sierra HD 2500/3500 trucks manufactured January 22, 2007, to June 21, 2011, and equipped with an auxiliary battery. Owners may unknowingly draw too much current through the vehicle's trailer harness resulting in the melting of fusible link for the auxiliary battery.

CONSEQUENCE:

If the fusible link melts it may come into contact with adjacent components, damage the electrical center cover, the nearby wiring harness conduit and other vehicle components, increasing the risk of a fire.

REMEDY:

GM will notify owners and dealers will replace the jumper harness with one that includes a 40 amp inline fuse, and provide the owner with supplemental Owner Manual information, free of charge. USA RECALL 4 - 124,007 various GM models for possible faulty welds on the Seat Hook Bracket Assembly.

SUMMARY:

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Buick Encore and Cadillac ATS; 2014 Cadillac CTS, ELR, Chevrolet Caprice and SS vehicles; and 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra Trucks. Due to an incomplete weld on the seat hook bracket assembly, the front seats in the affected vehicles may not stay secured in place during a high load condition such as a crash.

CONSEQUENCE:

A seat that does not stay secured increases the risk of occupant injury in a vehicle crash.

REMEDY:

GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the seat hook bracket assembly weld and replace the lower seat track, as necessary, free of charge. USA RECALL 3 - 16,249 Toyota Tundra models for possible lug nut faults.

SUMMARY:

Gulf States Toyota, Inc. (GST) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Toyota Tundra vehicles modified by GST as part of certain vehicle packages to be equipped with a combination of non-Toyota-brand 20-inch alloy wheels and chrome plated lug nuts. The coating on the lug nuts may give, causing the lug nuts to loosen or the wheel studs to fracture.

CONSEQUENCE:

If the lug nuts loosen, or the wheel studs fracture, the wheel may separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

REMEDY:

GST will notify owners, and dealers will replace 20 lug nuts and torque them to specification, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in August 2014. Owners may contact GST customer service at 1-800-444-1074.

USA RECALL 2 - 83,250 certain Ford and Llincoln models for Halfshaft retention clip issues.

SUMMARY:

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2012-2014 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX vehicles manufactured September 2, 2010, to November 30, 2013; 2013-2014 Ford Taurus and Lincoln MKS vehicles manufactured August 25, 2011, to November 30, 2013; and 2013-2014 Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT vehicles manufactured September 12, 2011, to November 30, 2013. In the affected vehicles, the halfshaft retention circlip may not have been properly installed, and as a result, the halfshaft may move outward and disengage from the linkshaft while driving and without prior warning.

CONSEQUENCE:

If the halfshaft and linkshaft become disengaged while driving, power will no longer be transmitted to the wheels, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. Additionally, if the parking brake is not applied before exiting the vehicle, the vehicle may roll away despite the transmission being placed in 'Park', increasing the risk of injury to exiting occupants and bystanders.

REMEDY:

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicles to make sure that the halfshaft is properly retained. If it is not, dealers will replace the linkshaft and also replace the halfshaft if it shows evidence of spline damage, free of charge. The recall began on August 4, 2014. USA RECALL 1 - Certain 2014 Chevy Impala models, Power steering issues

SUMMARY:

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling 57,242 certain model year 2014 Chevrolet Impala vehicles manufactured November 5, 2012, to December 20, 2013. Due to a poor electrical ground connection to the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM), the affected vehicles may have a loss of power steering assist during start up or while driving.

CONSEQUENCE:

If power steering assist is lost, greater driver effort would be required to steer the vehicle at low speeds, increasing the risk of a crash.

REMEDY:

GM will notify owners, and dealers will clean paint from behind the ground stud nut and update the PSCM software, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in late August 2014. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 14330.

Mid-Year Model Changes Highlighted by connected car and telematics standard across entire lineup

Coming off the heels of the most significant product refresh in company history, the launch of the powerful and fuel efficient Drive-E powertrains, and the introduction of the V60 sportswagon, Volvo’s transformation continues to unfold with the launch of the model year (MY) 2015.5 vehicles. 

Leading the updates for MY 2015.5 is Volvo’s Sensus Connect, Volvo’s connected car platform and Volvo On Call telematics solution, which allows for comprehensive connectivity and makes Volvo the only manufacturer to have connected car and telematics standard across the entire lineup. Offering customers cloud- and app- based services to make their travels – and life – easier and more enjoyable, Sensus Connect with Volvo On Call enhances the in-car infotainment experience. Additionally, with the Volvo On Call smartphone app (available for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone), also standard, customers can perform remote engine start and vehicle lock and unlock, as well as emergency operations for automatic collision notification, stolen vehicle tracking, and theft notification. 

Sensus navigation continues Volvo’s technological progression by offering improved graphics including 3D imaging, new routing options, and enhanced voice recognition. For MY2015.5, navigation has moved to the mid-level premier trim level (previously on the high-level platinum trim level). Additionally, it is standard on the S80, as well as the T6 versions of the S60, XC60 V60, and the XC70.

Harmon Kardon premium sound is new to the MY2015.5 feature list. The premium sound system is standard in platinum trim levels, and is also available as a standalone option.

Volvo has simplified its trim level options to two (premier and platinum). Keyless drive is now available as a standalone option and is also available in the newly-created convenience package (which includes rear park assist camera, Homelink remote garage door opener, digital compass, grocery bag holder, and power retractable outside mirrors). The platinum trim level has been expanded to include keyless drive, bi-xenon headlamps, and the technology package.

Jaguar Land Rover video to promote the Invictus Games

• Jaguar Land Rover Driving Challenge to provide a curtain raiser for the Invictus Games on Tuesday 9^thSeptember, with the first medals of the Games awarded.
• Teams from 11 Invictus Games nations to compete in all-terrain and tarmac driving stages, held at the Jaguar Land Rover Design and Engineering Centre in Gaydon, Warwickshire.
• The Invictus Games, championed by Prince Harry and presented by Jaguar Land Rover, is an international sporting event for wounded, injured and sick Servicemen and women taking place in London from 10^th-14^th September 2014.
• Jaguar Land Rover is Presenting Partner of the 2014 Invictus Games and is committed to exploring ways to enhance the valuable role of veterans as skilled employees, to create a lasting legacy for the Games.

Jaguar Land Rover has announced plans for an Invictus Games driving challenge, with 11 nations competing to win the first medals of the Games.

Taking place at the Jaguar Land Rover Design and Engineering Centre in Gaydon, Warwickshire, on Tuesday 9^th September, two competition stages will challenge the competitors’ driving and navigation skills. Teams, made up of a driver and navigator, will compete over a Land Rover all-terrain stage and a Jaguar tarmac track stage.

Times from both the stages will be amalgamated to give each team a total time. The four quickest pairs will then qualify for the finals, where they will compete for the first gold, silver and bronze medals of the Invictus Games.

In addition to their backing for the Invictus Games, Jaguar Land Rover supports wounded, injured and sick Service personnel through their involvement in the Race2Recovery motorsport team.

Daniel Whittingham was a corporal serving in 11 Explosive Ordnance Disposal Regiment of the Royal Logistics Corp when he was blown up by a Taliban IED in January 2009. He eventually had his left leg amputated below the knee. He will compete in cycling and wheelchair rugby at the Invictus Game and said: "After finishing the Dakar rally last year with Race2Recovery, which was an extraordinary feat of endurance against all odds, I was keen to explore further ways to focus my recovery. Having the chance to compete with other Servicemen and women who have been through similar hardships and who have come out on top despite all odds, is a massive personal honour.

"For me and indeed all the competitors, there has been so much effort behind the scenes, not just training for the Games but also in adjusting to daily life with our disabilities. I am proud to represent the British team and look forward to the Invictus Games in September."

Ford tells USA dealers to stop test driving and selling C-Max and Focus models.

Ford Motor Co. has told its U.S. dealers to stop test-driving and selling C-Max and Focus models produced during a week this month because of potential problems with the steering gear assembly, a notice sent to dealers on Wednesday shows.

A Ford spokeswoman said today none of the affected vehicles were sold to customers and that less than 50 were on U.S. dealer lots.

Some C-Max and Focus models built at the Michigan Assembly Plant outside of Detroit from Aug. 8 to Aug. 15 may not have enough ball bearings in the steering gear assembly, the notice to dealers obtained by Reuters said.

"This condition can result in deformation and degradation of the remaining ball bearings, which can lead to impaired steering, including the loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash," Ford said today.

Ford said 502 of the recalled vehicles are in transit to U.S. dealers, 108 are going to Canada, and six to U.S. federalized territories.

New Alfa Romeo 6C will aim to topple the F-Type

You’ve lusted after the carbon-fibre 4C and daydreamed about the 8C supercar, now prepare to want another Alfa so much that it hurts. The resurgent Italian brand is working on a new front-engined rear-wheel drive coupe, tipped to be called the Alfa Romeo 6C. 

Alfa’s answer to the Jaguar F-Type and Porsche 911 will be based on the Maserati Alfieri concept - shown at the Geneva Motor Show and already confirmed for production in 2016. According to our source, the 6C will follow in 2017 and our exclusive images show how Alfa’s designers plan to seduce customers. 

The muscular haunches and tear-drop shaped side glass will be shared with the Alfieri, but the 6C distinguishes itself with its razor-sharp front end. Combining a traditional shield-shaped grille with slender LED headlights, it will be the most aggressive interpretation of Alfa’s new family face. At the rear, exhausts and tailights set at the very outer edges emphasise the 6C’s width. 

Under the skin the 6C won’t be based on the same platform as the 3 Series-rivalling Giulia saloon (due in late 2015) and the mid-sized and large SUVs (due in 2016 and 2017 respectively). Instead it will use the Alfieri’s underpinnings - a shortened version of the Maserati Ghibli. 

Alfa 6C to get 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 from the Ghibli

It should still deliver a thrilling drive, though, with a highly-tuned version of the Ghibli’s 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 under the bonnet (hence the 6C name). We already know this engine will produce between 480bhp to 520bhp in the Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde and we can expect a similar output here, pushing it close to Jaguar F-Type Coupe V8 R and Porsche 911 Turbo territory. 

Don’t expect the 6C to be built in huge numbers at a knock down price though. As with the 4C and 8C, limited to 3.500 and 500 units respectively for the coupe, and the same for the convertible versions, the 6C is strictly a “special” model with production set to be capped to just a few thousand. The 6C fills a gap in the range left by the Mazda MX-5-based Spider, due to be built in Japan and arrive in shorooms in 2015, it will now be redesigned and rebadged as a Fiat.
