While Jaguar recently confirmed that production of the XK sports car will cease in the coming months, the British firm is still planning a few final special editions to send off the car in style. The first is this; the new Jaguar XK66 Special Edition available in either coupe or convertible specification.
Designed exclusively for the German market and as the name suggests, limited to just 66 units, the Jaguar XK66 Special Edition is based on the standard XK Portfolio and commemorates 66 years since the XK120 was launched. As it is based on the Portfolio, it features the same 5.0-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine delivering 380 hp.
The XK66 Special Edition can be finished in either British Racing Green or Stratus, and comes with a selection of special accents to distinguish it from all other XK models. For example, it includes special badging, chrome mirror caps, 20-inch alloy wheels with a polished face along with the option of black or beige fabric roofs for the drop-top variant.
In the cabin, you can find a unique plaque signifying this is one of 66 XK66 models along with light beige leather complemented with Warm Charcoal stitching. If that isn’t to your taste, then Warm Charcoal leather and Ivory contrast stitching is available.
It is currently unclear if Jaguar plans to produce a certain amount of coupes and a certain quantity of convertible versions, but when the XK66 Special Edition goes on sale in May, the coupe will cost from 99,380 euros with the convertible starting at 107,580 euros.
