Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

USA - Ford Brings Fiesta 1-Liter to the States

Fuel economy seems to be the name of the game these days with the impending state emission laws looming over automakers' heads, but Ford isn't concerned. Later this year, the automaker will debut the 2014 Ford Fiesta with the new 1-liter EcoBoost engine.

Without the use of a hybrid powertrain, this compact model achieves an EPA-estimated 32/45/37 mpg city/highway/combined. We had the opportunity to drive the 2014 Fiesta 1-liter Euro Spec early last year, and we only had good things to say about it. "Its engine hummed along, with a growl that reminded us far more reminiscent of a Subaru than any Ford.

And yet, it felt refined; its burbling three-banger never became irritating," said Online Editor Jacob Brown. Sliding behind the wheel of the U.S. model, we were pleasantly surprised. We drove the Fiesta 1-Liter through canyon roads, highways, city streets, and came away with the thought that the newest Fiesta offers a good alternative to expensive hybrids without sacrificing on performance.

While the shorter wheelbase may be a little wobbly when faced with highway speeds and blowing winds, the 1-liter provides just enough bite to keep the driver engaged. The cabin was comfortable and quiet -- much more than we'd expect when hitting 80 mph. With heated cloth seats and plenty of room for passengers, we enjoyed our time with the Fiesta 1-liter.

Customers looking for a small, fun-to-drive car will enjoy what the Fiesta has to offer, and with the 1-liter being SAE-certified at 123 horsepower and 125 lb-ft. of torque, the newest Fiesta will be at the top of the subcompact list. Ford plans to continue to use the 1-liter EcoBoost engine for future products, and will drop it under the hood of the 2015 Focus.
