Infiniti is continuing its upward trajectory in the UK with 100% year-to-date growth and an impressive 350% improvement on March 2014 sales figures.
New-car registration figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders show that Infiniti recorded the fifth largest percentage increase of any manufacturer in the UK market in 2015.
The results reflect a year of major activity for the premium car maker. With a full year since its introduction, the award-winning Q50 range has hugely contributed to the sales success story along with the opening of new centres, including the most recent in Maidstone and two pop up stores at Westfield shopping centres in London.
The UK growth mirrors record global sales increases of Infiniti models in markets around the world.
2015 will be an important year for Infiniti. The Q30 based on the Q30 Concept, which appeared at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2014, will go into production at Infiniti’s first European production facility in Sunderland later this year.
On top of Q30, the Q80 Inspiration paved the way at the Paris Motor Show in 2014 and that was followed by the Q60 sports coupe Concept at the North American Auto Show in Detroit earlier this year.
The QX30 Concept that appeared at Geneva Motor Show in March pointed to Infiniti’s design vision for a new premium compact crossover, targeting an entirely new audience of discerning customers.
The Infiniti range is set to expand. Already five Infiniti saloon, coupe and crossover models are currently sold in the UK, with powertrain options comprising petrol, diesel and hybrid power, and prices starting at £28,650.
