Isuzu celebrates gaining tis biggest single order, 197 D-Max Pick Ups, well done Isuzu.

Isuzu UK has just signed its biggest ever fleet deal, with the Environment Agency placing an order for 197 D-Max pick-ups after an extensive tendering process.

The new fleet – a mix of 4x4 single cab, extended cab and double cab utility-spec models – will be delivered over the next three months.

The pick-ups will all be finished in silver and will be fitted with drop-in top liner bodies from Strongs and racking from Bott. Each vehicle will be supplied with BF Goodrich All Terrain tyres, full Chapter 8 livery and will be Environment Agency branded.

The Environment Agency is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, that works to create better places for people and wildlife, and support sustainable development.

Commenting on the contract win, Fleet Operations Manager for Isuzu, Alan Able, said: “I’m very pleased that our biggest order to date is with the Environment Agency because it signals that our offer stands up to the most rigorous and exhaustive scrutiny.

The Environment Agency’s Head of Fleet Operations, Dale Eynon, said:“We work hard to protect the environment and improve it for people and wildlife – and this principle is applied in everything we do, including reducing our own energy use, waste and emissions. With this in mind, we’re continuing our fleet carbon reduction programme by purchasing vehicles with the lowest emissions in their class, suitable for our challenging environmental protection work.”

Launched in the summer of 2012, the D-Max continues to impress, winning numerous prestigious accolades including Fleet Van’s ‘Pick-Up Truck of the Year’, Trade Van Driver Magazine’s ‘Best 4x4 Trade Pick-Up’, and VansA2Z.com’s ‘Pick-Up of the Year’ in just the last few months.  

The Isuzu D-Max is available in three body styles – single, extended and double cab – with prices starting from £14,749 (CVOTR) for the entry-level single cab 4x2, rising to £25,995 (CVOTR) for the range-topping Isuzu D-Max Blade Auto. 

The Isuzu D-Max is fitted with a super-efficient 2.5-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, producing 163 PS and 400 Nm of torque, is able to tow a class-leading 3.5-tonnes (braked) while still returning fuel economy of 38.7 mpg (combined), and is available with a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission.

Every Isuzu D-Max sold in the UK comes with the company’s pioneering five-year / 125,000-mile warranty, as standard.
