- 12 consecutive best individual months
- 51% increase in China in August
- Q30 active compact to make world premiere at Frankfurt Motor Show
Infiniti today announced its global sales of 16,900 vehicles in August, an increase of 19% over August 2014. This marks the best August in Infiniti’s history, and Infiniti has now reached a 12-month streak of best individual months on record.
All four regions of Infiniti, including the Americas, China, EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa), and A&O (Asia and Oceania), achieved positive growth from last year.
The Americas and China, two of Infiniti’s largest regions, both outperformed the previous year by double digits in August. China along with other key markets such as Canada, Mexico, Latin America, West Europe, South Africa and Australia all achieved their best August sales ever.
Year to date, Infiniti sold more than 136,700 vehicles around the world, an increase of 14% over the same period the year before, and a record for the first eight months of a year in the brand’s history. All four regions recorded strong growth. China, EMEA, and A&O all reached record sales for the first eight-months.
“The August result continues to be encouraging,” said Roland Krueger, President of Infiniti Motor Company Limited. “Infiniti is keeping up the momentum to establish itself as a global premium automotive brand.”
In the Americas (including U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Latin America), Infiniti’s biggest sales region, the brand sold about 11,900 vehicles in August, up 16% from a year ago. Year to date, Infiniti Americas sold around 94,200 vehicles, an 11% year on year increase.
In China, Infiniti reached a record August by selling more than 3,000 vehicles in the month. This is an increase of more than 1,000 vehicles from August 2014, representing a year on year increase of 51%.
In the first eight months of 2015, Infiniti has sold more than 24,700 vehicles in China, a 35% increase over the same period last year – the company continues to significantly outperform the overall slowed down automotive market.
In the EMEA region, Infiniti sold about 1,500 vehicles in August, 3% up from the previous year despite the difficult economic and market situation in East Europe. In West Europe and Middle East, Infiniti continued its strong momentum by growing 19% and 17% respectively. Year to date, Infiniti sold approximately 14,300 vehicles in EMEA, an 8% increase year on year.
In Asia and Oceania’s growth markets, Infiniti sold more than 400 vehicles in August, an 8% increase from the previous year. From January to August, the region sold about 3,600 vehicles, a 24% year on year growth.
“Infiniti will maintain this momentum by offering iconic design, an expanded range of products, and an exhilarating driver experience.
At the upcoming Frankfurt International Motor Show, we will introduce our all-new Q30 active compact,” said Krueger. “The Q30 will offer powerful design, premium materials, latest driver assistance technology as well as the ride and handling characteristics typical for Infiniti.”
