Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

USA - Nissan has six models that receive at least a good rating in the Top Safety Pick+ ratings.

  • Murano, Pathfinder, Sentra receive IIHS Top Safety Pick Ratings

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) today awarded three 2017 Nissan vehicles with its "Top Safety Pick Plus" (TSP+) vehicle safety rating, which is the group's highest-available designation.
The 2017 Nissan Altima, Maxima, and Rogue each scored at least a "Good" rating in all five "Top Safety Pick" (TSP) test categories and earned "Top Safety Pick Plus" status with "Advanced" or "Superior" ratings for front crash prevention for models equipped with optional Forward Emergency Braking.

Beginning this year a "Good" or "Acceptable" rating for headlight performance is also required to earn a TSP+ rating.
To earn a Top Safety Pick designation, a vehicle must achieve "GOOD" ratings in small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side and roof strength, along with standard or optional front crash prevention.
The 2017 Nissan Pathfinder joins the Murano and Sentra in receiving an IIHS Top Safety Pick rating this year.
"Nissan is proud to have many of our North American-built vehicles recognized by IIHS for vehicle safety," said Michael Bunce, vice president, Product Strategy and Planning, Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA).
"As a full-line manufacturer, Nissan places the safety and security of Nissan vehicle owners and their passengers as its top priority.
Considering that 85-percent of the vehicles we sell in the U.S. are assembled in North America, we are gratified to see the company's long-term investment in safety yielding results in these key vehicles receiving high marks from IIHS."
