Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

Aston Martin Works is proud to sponsor this year’s Althorp Literary Festival

Aston Martin Works is proud to become an exclusive sponsor of one of the key author presentations at this year’s Althorp Literary Festival.
The highly-regarded festival – which will be staged for the 11th time in and around the exquisite grounds of Althorp House in Northamptonshire, family home of the Spencers for 19 generations and more than 500 years – has once again attracted some of the nation’s most sought-after writers.
Aston Martin Works opens what promises to be a long and successful association with the festival, which this year runs from Thursday 12 June to Saturday 14 June, by becoming the exclusive sponsor of Charles Spencer’s talk about his new book, Killers of The King.
On Saturday 14 June Charles Spencer, best-selling author of Blenheim: Battle for Europe, will present an exclusive and now sold-out preview of his new history book, Killers of the King, ahead of its release by Bloomsbury on 11 September this year.

The book uncovers a tale of revenge and terror following the execution of King Charles in January 1649, the king having been sentenced to death by a tribunal of mainly military men. In his new work Charles Spencer explores what happened when the Restoration arrived and retribution was brought against the regicides that prosecuted, condemned, or oversaw the execution of the king.
Aside from Charles Spencer, the festival boasts a stellar line-up of other authors over the course of its three days. Among the 30-strong confirmed speakers are legendary BBC reporters and presenters Kate Adie and Jeremy Paxman; Mayor of London Boris Johnson; noted historian and MP Kwasi Kwarteng; and comedian and presenter Julian Clary. There will also be talks from Robert Sackville-West – 7th Baron Sackville, and founder of Toucan Books and Chair of the Knole Estates; Mail on Sunday Editor Geordie Greig; and veteran Labour politician Michael Meacher.
Commenting on Aston Martin Works’ first involvement in the literary festival Commercial Director Paul Spires said: “It is a delight for us to be able to support this superb event and sponsor Charles Spencer’s talk about his fascinating forthcoming new book.
“The Althorp Literary Festival has quickly grown to become a major event in the UK’s cultural calendar and, because both of its proximity to us here at Newport and its national importance, it’s only right that we form this relationship which I very much hope will flourish over the years to come.”
