Hyundai’s flagship Equus sedan received its third Motorist Choice Award in a row as the Popular Luxury Lifestyle Vehicle from automotive industry research firms AutoPacific and IntelliChoice. The Equus earned high marks among more than 92,000 new vehicle buyers for overall satisfaction and low ownership costs over time.
“The Motorist Choice Awards are meaningful because they are based on the feedback of new car owners,” said Mike O’Brien, vice president of corporate and product planning, Hyundai Motor America. “This accolade is a further testament to Hyundai’s commitment in creating, developing and delivering products like the Equus that creates a new top tier in terms of customer experience and luxury car ownership.”
The Motorist Choice Award combines complementary analyses from AutoPacific's new vehicle satisfaction survey with IntelliChoice.com's proprietary cost of ownership data. The firms then use this consumer data to determine winners in the Popular and Premium brand groupings. The methodology provides a superior means of evaluating “Best in Class” vehicles that align consumer shopping patterns with probability for both satisfaction and value.
The Equus successfully competes with the best sedans in the world. The award-winning vehicle features the powerful direct injection 5.0-liter Tau V8 engine. The engine produces 429 horsepower and is mated to an in-house eight-speed transmission, providing Equus drivers not only more power and refinement, but also superb owner satisfaction and experience.
