Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

UK MARCH SALES - MG - Best ever month and Quarter, goes to show, MG is on a roll.

MG hit a new sales record in the first quarter of 2015, on the eve of the NEW MG6 going on sale. More new MGs were sold in the first three months of this year than in the whole of 2013 – and the new MG6 does not even figure in the record results yet!

The 2015 registrations are the best first quarter results since the new MG Motor UK company was formed and continues the company’s impressive sales performance during the past 18-months.

Official figures released today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders show that the industry grew by an average of 6.75 per cent in the first three months of 2015. MG’s results show a 57.33 per cent increase – the best first quarter ever by MG Motor UK.

In March alone MG registrations grew by more than 83 per cent, again another impressive performance.

The iconic brand, now in its 91st year, sells in more than 40 countries across the world and MG’s Longbridge operation, where MGs are designed, engineered and where final assembly of British models takes place, is pivotal to the modern global MG marque.

Last year MG was the fastest growing automotive brand in Britain and continued to be among the frontrunners in the important January to March quarter of 2015.

Throughout last year the average increase in new car sales in Britain was 9.35 per cent, while MG had an incredible 361 per cent improvement.

Matthew Cheyne, MG’s Head of Marketing, said: “By any standards our performance over the past year or so has been staggering – and that’s before we launch the highly-competitive NEW MG6 which starts at only £13,995.”

MG’s sales have been bolstered by a wave of new dealer appointments. The dealer network has been more than doubled in just over a year and MG recently announced the formation of a Task Force to find and appoint another 30 dealers in key open ‘hot spots’ across Britain.

Cheyne, who heads the Task Force said: “Our volumes may be still small, but we are now building rapidly and there is a real buzz behind the brand.

“Our customers are delighted with the new products we are bringing to market and they are our greatest ambassadors.

We now have customers proudly showing off their new MGs to friends and neighbours and there is a real feeling of pride and confidence in the brand.

“Just like the fast-selling MG3, the NEW MG6 is a big leap forward and will attract even more business and fleet buyers to the brand alongside retail buyers. It’s thrilling to see MG bouncing back.”
