Nissan announced today passenger car sales for March of more than 31,000 units, an increase of 22% compared to last year, representing a market share of 6.3% in the month.
March highlights:
- Nissan sets new record in the UK as car sales top 31,000, the highest monthly volume in its history
- Nissan moves up the rankings to become 4th largest UK manufacturer for the year-to-date
- March sales cement Nissan as the EV market leader, with LEAF sales exceeding 1,250
- Nissan’s crossover range - Qashqai, Juke and X-Trail – posted record sales in March
- The British-built Qashqai climbed up the rankings becoming the 4th best-selling car in the UK in March and the 5th best-selling car for the year-to-date

- Sunderland Plant currently employs more than 6,700 people
- Nissan's European Design Centre is located in Paddington, London and employs around 65 people
- Nissan's European Technical Centre is based in Cranfield, Bedfordshire and employs around 1,000 people
- Nissan’s sales and marketing headquarters in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire employs around 190 people
